In general, a pleasant stay! The house had a rustic charm and we felt very comfortable. The location was convenient for visiting nearby attractions like Peneda-Gerês National Park, although we spent most of our time enjoying the pool and the garden.

The location is incredible, close to the forest and not far from Ponte de Lima. We did some lovely hikes. The kids had fun playing ping-pong and swimming. Totally recommended!

What a charming place! The view from the balcony was lovely, and we loved the peaceful atmosphere of the nearby forest. The kids had a lot of fun playing table tennis, and the barbecue area was fantastic for family dinners.

Spacious house and garden, everything you need! Very friendly landlord who was always available.
It takes 15 minutes to walk to the center of Ponte de Lima. Very nice place with lots of sights. All places in the Minho can be reached quickly by car. The only annoying thing was that cars kept parking opposite the narrow driveway. The owners of the vehicles were always easy to reach, though.

The accommodation is located near the picturesque town of Ponte de Lima, just a 15-minute walk away. The pool is nice, and the house is quite spacious. Carlos and Maria are wonderful hosts who are always ready to help and take care of guests.

The house is clean and so is the pool and garden area. Lots of games and distractions. The gym is nice. It would be nice to have more light around the pool and garden area at night. A it would be nice to have a small fridge in the barbecue area. Overall, we were having a nice stay and it's very pleasant.

A beautiful old house with a large, very well-kept garden. The pool is huge, ideal for swimming. Everything you need is there, including a fitness room. We spent a great holiday here, not least because of the owner. Very nice and well located, within walking distance of the Ponte Lima.Het pool is clean and cool with plenty of privacy. Everything is provided for a wonderful afternoon or evening at the pool and a barbecue in sun or shade, among the flowers and appelsienbomen.Het furniture is typical old Portuguese, very beautiful but small and hard beds. (Only one bed is softer) Kitchen is in order and clean. The living room is downstairs, a large cozy rather dark room. It smells despite ontvochter becoming stale. The stereo does not work, Internet though. TV not used.We were outside the summer and slept with the windows (with many gaps) close. During the summer you will probably suffer from noisy neighbors, barking dogs, the (very friendly) bar right on and the accompanying garage-workshop carrosier. Not recommended for those with sensitive ears or want real peace. It took some searching, but then we also had some in a very ordinary Portuguese street, behind a huge metal gate we have a week long celebration delicious holiday. In the huge, enclosed garden with olive and lemon trees, our dog could enjoy going her own way. Casa da Castanheta is a great house with a spacious swimming pool, not to mention excellent wifi. The latter is an absolute must to keep in touch for our daughters aged 13 and 17 years with the rest of the world.We have a few (evening) walks to Ponte de Lima with a very picturesque walk downtown in fifteen minutes. We enjoyed our stay at this property during the first week of September: beautiful house with beautiful private pool, shops nearby, Ponte de Lima center in walking distance. Very nice that we could enjoy the fruits from the garden. A visit to Porto (with tasting) should not be missed. A ride through the National Park Peneda Geres is also worthwhile.

Very beautiful and well kept house in a beautiful setting. The house is well furnished, ideal for a family with older children and young adults. Very friendly and helpful owners. Perfect base for exploring the region. Many cozy and very nice towns nearby. Guimaraes and Porto are highly recommended. But Braga and Bom Jesus, the mouth of the Minho and Peneda-Gerês you can not miss. Only the dog of the neighbors can "make some noise at night!

It took some searching, but then we also had some in a very ordinary Portuguese street, behind a huge metal gate we have a week long celebration delicious holiday. In the huge, enclosed garden with olive and lemon trees, our dog could enjoy going her own way. Casa da Castanheta is a great house with a spacious swimming pool, not to mention excellent wifi. The latter is an absolute must to keep in touch for our daughters aged 13 and 17 years with the rest of the world.We have a few (evening) walks to Ponte de Lima with a very picturesque walk downtown in fifteen minutes. Very nice and well located, within walking distance of the Ponte Lima.Het pool is clean and cool with plenty of privacy. Everything is provided for a wonderful afternoon or evening at the pool and a barbecue in sun or shade, among the flowers and appelsienbomen.Het furniture is typical old Portuguese, very beautiful but small and hard beds. (Only one bed is softer) Kitchen is in order and clean. The living room is downstairs, a large cozy rather dark room. It smells despite ontvochter becoming stale. The stereo does not work, Internet though. TV not used.We were outside the summer and slept with the windows (with many gaps) close. During the summer you will probably suffer from noisy neighbors, barking dogs, the (very friendly) bar right on and the accompanying garage-workshop carrosier. Not recommended for those with sensitive ears or want real peace. Do you go for the beautiful region and villages, tour you around a lot and want to "evening to enjoy the pool and a good pint, then it's perfect.
