A splendor of a villa with swimming pool. Ideal location in the middle of Provence. Perfect base for exploring the area.

The house is very clean, like new, good beds. Disadvantage; it is located close to a busy road and the municipality of Apt does not empty the overflowing trash bins at the bottom of the road on time, which spreads a cauliflower smell.

The house is attractive and well equipped but there are some issues. The pool had not ben cleaned before our arrival and its maintenance during our stay was poor. There are no instructions for use of the appliances, which one may not be familiar with, and there is no fire extinguisher or fire blanket in the kitchen. No useful numbers for emergency services or a doctor or dentist were in the house information. The cost of electricity seems to be exorbitant in relation to normal French prices, particularly as there is some usage that cannot be personally controlled; there was also an attempt to charge a higher unit price that stipulated in the Belvilla contract. The local agent denies any responsibility for the house, pool and grounds, being there only to meet and send off guests and change the linen; if something goes wrong one is left in the lurch. The property is very close to a very noisy road, which motorcyclists seem to think is a racetrack.
