A special place: an old hunting lodge in a park-like area, spacious, for lovers of historical details. Good location near the pleasant town of Valognes and also not far from Cherbourg.

Super beautiful house! Very clean, the hostess had placed cookies and a bouquet of flowers as a welcome. There were also ice creams in the freezer (although we don't know if the hostess or the previous vacationers had left them behind). The hostess was very nice, very patient when you speak little French (like me). In the mornings and evenings, you see deer and hares in the field, really super beautiful. In short, definitely worth it!

A beautiful house with a lovely garden. Especially clean, everything present. In 30-40 minutes you can drive by car to all the coasts where you can walk beautifully.

Really a very nice stay! Super clean. There are some downsides though. I had very brief contact with the hostess, she doesn't speak English which makes communication very difficult. Everything is done through posted notes on the walls in French and English. Quite outdated conditions on the posted notes. Super nice decor but it's not comfortable to sit. The armchairs are really uncomfortable! It smells very musty and the sewage stinks, even airing it out doesn't help. Beds are okay. Furthermore, had a great stay.

The house is actually even more beautiful than in the photos. Truly a gem! Across from the house is an empty building. The buildings are connected by a high stone fence. The dog could safely run around outside because of this. The house has everything you need during the holiday. Clean, good beds, nice shower, and a cozy living kitchen. The internet is also good. We did not use the living room. As others have already indicated, there is always a spot in the garden to sit comfortably. The four extra garden/beach chairs are also comfortable. There is a charcoal BBQ in the open garage. We had our own gas BBQ with us, so we didn't use this one. In the morning and afternoon, you might see a hare or deer near the house. There are also many birds around the house, which creates a pleasant sound. You have little trouble from the road. Supermarkets are very close (a 5-minute drive to Lidl). The holiday home is very centrally located for trips in the beautiful surroundings. You are half an hour at the beach. We had been lower in Normandy before but found this part really very beautiful. Actually more beautiful. But that is personal. Of course, the sunny weather also played a role. But there is plenty to see and do in the area. The owner is also very friendly. Unfortunately, our French is not good enough for us to have a conversation (thankfully there is Google Translate).

A beautiful house in a quiet area. The house had an old style and was very well cared for. The guarantee was higher than normal, but we understood why. So we really enjoyed it. The region is also very varied. Toppers such as Bayeux and Mont Saint Michel, to the museums of D-Day, and so much more.

Attractive house, free and quiet. Fresh, clean and spacious. There was – very thoughtfully – a box of delicious Normandy cakes waiting on the kitchen table as a welcome present.
We actually only used the kitchen-diner, because it was the most cozy place to sit, next to the fireplace, which we couldn't really handle properly with the newspapers and clammy wood that were a bit too damp. The fireplace also did not draw very well. But of course that wasn't much of a problem.
The two bedrooms (with wonderful beds) were spacious and, contrary to Belvilla's description, both contained a double bed (140) plus a single bed. The bathroom was also very neat, and everything was fresh and clean. Unfortunately, our stay was only a week and we also had two days of rain, so we plan to come back again because Normandy turned out to be much more beautiful than expected.

The house was super fine bed a bit short for tall people but I am 1.88 and was doable. Everything present great location on the estate seen many deer around the house, made beautiful trips to the beaches. Very friendly woman, the key was on the inside of the door on arrival, a bit of a disadvantage that she only speaks French. In short, a must if you love your freedom. George Schlink

We found this exceptional place, a beautiful pavilion in a countryside near Valognes (6-7 km) but isolated from the noise of road traffic. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the pavilion is perfect for one or two families. A pavilion very well cared for by the owner of the place. From Valognes, you can easily go to Saint-Vaast La Hougue - Tatihou Island - Barfleur - Cherbourg (The City of the Sea) etc ... To lovers of old stones and hikers, a place to discover.

Beautiful old house with care furnished. Very clean and tidy. Other from other homes. Can have a nice walk. In the kitchen there are toaster, microwave and oven. Two bedrooms each with 1 single bed and 1 double bed (with double duvet, handy to know when you bring your own bedding) The shower is in the bath underneath Sloping roof. Property is in a lovely rural setting and our host was charming, We would say we would have liked a comfy sofa or two to relax on, the kitchen fireside is crying out for one, likewise the salon. The beds were comfortable and bathroom beautifully clean and spacious but shower on the weak side. Location is great for so many interesting places to visit, be it homes and gardens or WW11 experiences. The coastline is stunning and beaches amazing. We were very lucky with our weather too.

The house is not as expected, very old, we could not even relax in a seat, the separate seats (chairs that were almost fell apart) really not cozy, we will not be there anymore, there is nothing in the vicinity do, there was a magazine with weekly markets, we went to 1ne, there were barely six colic, the only advantage I thought was the wonderful garden, where our dog could roam freely, sorry for the negative but I did not have a good holiday. . .

Just like last year in March, very friendly received by the proprietor who recognized us, bouquet of fresh flowers in the vase in the living room, box of local food on the table, bottle of water and juice in the fridge! Nice is not it ? And like last year a very quiet stay in a unique house, a hunting lodge from the end of 1700 that you can rent as a vacation rental is not that easy. And in the countryside, yet close to Valognes where you can do all the shopping in the supermarkets or in the shops in the town. We will definitely be returning.

If you want to stay in an authentic French house on an estate, Marende is a good choice. The house is completely free with an enclosed garden (good for small children and/or the dog). Inside it is cool because of the thick walls. The kitchen is spacious with a huge fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped, with an oven, microwave and dishwasher. The large fridge is also a plus. The salon is "chic old fashioned". Even the TV is not recent. If you want to use the chromecast, take a connector vga (mnl) and hdmi (vrl) with you. Or sit in the garden in the evening. The bedrooms are very spacious, the beds on the narrow and short side, but that should not spoil the holiday fun and night's rest. From Marende you can easily drive the entire east and west coast. Route du Cap is really worth it, the supermarkets are close by and Valognes itself is a nice town.

Double beds are mediocre. Furthermore, a great holiday home in beautiful surroundings and a friendly welcome. Environment is beautiful and very diverse. There's a lot to do! The house is especially suitable for peace seekers like us. We would like to come again.

We were looking for peace of nature and a beautiful place as a base for excursions. We have definitely found the quiet villages on the coast and the impressive landing beaches nearby. Wonderful walks through forests and along beaches where the children had imitated their own sea aquarium between the many boulders that appeared to ebb. "In the evening back to our lovely French house where we had a barbecue and a glass of wine enjoyed the birdsong and the many shells that had found the children. If the children are big enough we'll be back to make a bike tours from the house so we can explore the small roads this impressive piece of France offers us.

The house stands in a beautiful place and is very quiet and especially rural. The property is satisfactory and Valognes is conveniently located for exploring the Norman coast. Despite the bad weather we (2 couples 65+) managed to have a great time.

Friendly reception. Unfortunately, the hostess did not speak English (French only). Beautifully located. Interior that is oubollig. Toilet which tucked away under the stairs. Do not shower in the bath. You could not stand up in a shower, because the bath is under an oblique wall.

The arrival was warm, sorry that the reception only the French language controlled, but accommodates. It is a very pleasant and comfortable house. It has a nice atmosphere and is beautifully free on an estate. The only downside is that you can hear the road (the N13) well when the wind comes from that side and that was regular during our stay. So don't expect complete silence.

Great house, fully corresponds to the description. Very clean and quiet location on a 500 meter long driveway. More than enough to do in the area. Bathroom has recently been completely renovated, so no more shower in the bath. Very peaceful and extremely quiet (for us as city dwellers), surrounded by a few grazing cows during the day.

Beautiful and comfortable house in a very beautiful rural area just outside Valognes. The kitchen diner with fireplace and window seat is really great! Atmospheric, friendly owner, spacious and quiet. Valognes is conveniently located for all kinds of fun trips to the beach, oyster beds, cité de la mer in Cherbourg, Bayeux et cetera.
