Piéd dans l'eau; or feet in the water! Résidence Les Terrasses de Fort Boyard is only 40 meters from the sandy beach. The center of the seaside resort of Fouras is just 350 meters away. The apartments are situated around the swimming pool with a paddling pool.

Fouras is a quiet seaside resort with five wonderful sandy beaches over a distance of 4 km! This place is located on the peninsula of the Charente-Maritime department, opposite Ile d'Aix. From the port of Fouras you can reach this beautiful island in twenty minutes by boat. You can also go for a longer boat trip, sail along the famous Fort Boyard and the oyster beds this region is famous for. You'll often find these oysters on the menus of the local restaurants. Enjoy! There's a market in Fouras every Tuesday and Friday morning in July and August and on Saturday there's a cozy evening market. Downtown (350 m) there are also restaurants, a bakery, a supermarket and cute shops.

The 11th century fort of Vauban (1 km) is worth a visit and it's a great combination with a lazy beach day. Must-see's are 'La corderie Royale' museum, or the royal rope factory in Rochefort (15 km). This is where the ropes for the French navy were made and in 250 years approximately 350 ships were built. Many exhibitions are held and at the construction site is a replica of the three-masted ship La Fayette; very impressive! You can make a day trip to the cozy port city of La Rochelle (30 km), where you can enjoy a lovely stroll through the old town and soak up some sunshine on one of the many terraces. Happy children's faces when you take them to the big sea aquarium. The beloved French islands Oléron and Ile de Ré (both at 50 km) are accessible by car.

We had a great time in this vacation home. It was clean and tidy, and the kids loved the pool. Moreover, we were close to several dining options like L'Archipel, which made our evenings enjoyable.

Perfect for our family! We found the space just right for our needs. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds and we appreciated the quiet environment. A bit of a drive to La Rochelle, but it was worth it for access to the beach.

The apartment was cozy and had charming decor. Even though it was a bit dated, it added character. The proximity to the beaches was a great advantage, especially to Plage de l'Esperance. Overall, a nice stay.

Friendly welcome. The managers also speak a bit of English which was quite easy. We did not have to pay a deposit, not even for cleaning. You have to do it yourself. Tourist tax only. Both the rented sheets and the towels are paying! It is a cozy park with a restaurant just next to it and just before the beach there are a total of 5 (beaches) close to each other. That doesn't make it overcrowded either. One can take walks on the boulevards and there are beautiful views of different islands. You can also visit a fort (Vauban) free of charge. For some islands you have to pay to be able to visit them. There was also a fun fair and a circus. Hollyhocks grow everywhere in the streets, which made it cozy and special.
