The half-timbered town offers one of the highlights of every trip to the Lüneburg Heath. Visit the historic village center of Wienhausen, with the former Cistercian monastery, a jewel of North German brick Gothic and half-timbered architecture. In the area there are interesting activities like the windmill museum in the former concentration Giffhorn in Bergen Belsen, a few nice large cities. It is flat it is good cycling and walking. A tour in a monastery. For us, the past two weeks so.

We had a good time during our stay. The accommodation was clean and practically furnished. The only downside for people with limited mobility is that you have to go up a flight of stairs for the kitchen (although very innovatively built) and a few steps down for the bathroom. You also have to be careful when entering the garden because of the high step.
