We have been going to the Ardennes with a group of friends for 10 years in a row, and for 10 years we alternate between Fermette Erpigny and La Récréation (both houses owned by the owner Ourthe&Somme). For many years we were very satisfied, but this time we feel like a big cop. Year after year, the houses show more defects, wear and tear and the costs for those necessary repairs are apparently passed on to customers. A deposit of €1000 of which we saw barely 135 euros refunded: we were really astonished at the explanation we received about this. A worn billiard cloth is renewed at our expense, a wooden cupboard door turns out to cost several hundred euros, ... This was the last time we have been to this house. Fermette Erpigny is nevertheless a very cozy and nice holiday home, but the misery afterwards is terribly irritating. The BBQ is also disgusting and worn out, and additional costs are charged for this as if this were our fault. Unfortunately you have to pick up the key 30 minutes away from an administrator (Ourthe&Somme). The manager has some very bad reviews on the Internet. Unfortunately, some try to rip you off with a high deposit and then high additional costs.
The house itself was just gigantic! We were there with 30 people, half of them children 1-13 years. Every family could retreat to their bedroom or one of the many cozy corners of the house when things got too much. But there was also enough space for everyone to be together in the dining area as well as in the living room. The kitchen is very well equipped to cook for many people. There could be a fridge and freezer more ;). Washing machine and dryer are available. There are enough bathrooms/toilets. Several house entrances (great for keeping the mud out). Two staircases lead to the first and second floors. The stairs are partially secured by small child protection or doors. Unfortunately, we had to find out that the house is quite noisy and that there is no door on one of the stairs to keep the noise out of table football/billiards games and the large bedroom in the attic only has a door on one of the stairs and is therefore "open ". With small children you just have to be quieter in the evening.
Great was the large garden with trampoline, swing and table tennis! Cows graze next door.
There are about 7 parking spaces.
The sauna is outside the house in a small cottage 3m from the front door. But there is a shower directly after the front door. The sauna pros said the sauna doesn't get quite hot, but it was adequate for our needs.

Very clean and well maintained. Was not too crowded with 32 people. Surroundings perfect for relaxing, hiking, cycling. Our smallest guests were thrilled by the large garden with trampoline. The youngsters and adults have played volleyball (net brought along), badminton, billiard and table tennis. The grill has served for 32 hungry mice. The seats for common times have also been enough for 32 people. The existing piano was also a nice bonus as we had a piano player. Everyone enjoyed the trip to the nearby chocolate museum very much. Unfortunately, we had to find out that the house is quite noisy and that there is no door on one of the stairs to keep the noise out of table football/billiards games and the large bedroom in the attic only has a door on one of the stairs and is therefore "open ". With small children you just have to be quieter in the evening.
Great was the large garden with trampoline, swing and table tennis! Cows graze next door.
There are about 7 parking spaces.

The cottage was perfect. Lots of space, many possibilities, everything neatly clean and a beautiful view. It was less pleasant that there appears to be a separate organization behind the rental. That meant that you had to arrange everything else with that organization. With its own rules. For example, the deposit was suddenly € 1000 instead of € 500 and there is a central key collection point half an hour's drive from the house. On the road from the Netherlands you will therefore drive about 15 minutes. On the way there and on the way back. We also suddenly had to pass on dates of birth and passport numbers. Very clean and well maintained. Was not too crowded with 32 people. Surroundings perfect for relaxing, hiking, cycling. Our smallest guests were thrilled by the large garden with trampoline. The youngsters and adults have played volleyball (net brought along), badminton, billiard and table tennis. The grill has served for 32 hungry mice. The seats for common times have also been enough for 32 people. The existing piano was also a nice bonus as we had a piano player. Everyone enjoyed the trip to the nearby chocolate museum very much.
