Absolutely terrible. A disgrace that a reputable platform like Belvilla offers such accommodations. This is without a doubt the worst vacation experience we have ever had. Upon arrival at 4:00 PM, we tried to call the contact person, as per the instructions. No one answered. Only around 6:00 PM did she appear unannounced at the property, without any explanation or apologies. From the very first moment, her attitude was unfriendly and unprofessional. No welcome, no excuses, nothing. The accommodation itself was in a deplorable state. The mattresses were old and dirty; my wife developed bumps during our stay, which I photographed. In the bedrooms, floor tiles were loose, the shower drain was clogged, and the refrigerator was dirty upon arrival. We had to clean it ourselves before we could put our groceries in it. But the absolute low point was the flies. Upon arrival, there were literally dozens, if not more than a hundred flies in the house. It was filthy. When we mentioned this, we were casually told that "it's just the season." Meanwhile, the deposit of €200 had to be paid in cash immediately. Because I did not trust the contact person, I had her sign a receipt for the deposit. Due to the enormous number of flies, we almost immediately went outside to sit. The barbecue that belonged to the house was old and dirty. Fortunately, we had brought our own barbecue. As if that wasn't enough, the contact person appeared unannounced on our terrace the next evening while we were eating with the family. She walked through the front door without permission straight through the house to the backyard. That is a gross violation of our privacy. She then came to complain because a small outdoor light was on. I indicated that we would turn off the light and kindly asked her to leave. I have truly never experienced a landlord behaving like this towards paying guests. Upon departure, we left the property neat: cleaner than how we found it. Because I no longer trusted the contact person at all, I had taken photos of all the rooms. When she could find nothing to complain about in the house, she started about the trash. We had everything neatly separated: glass with glass, cans with cans, plastic with plastic, organic waste with organic waste, and residual waste with residual waste. According to her, that was still not good enough. She then threatened to withhold our deposit if I did not go through the waste with my hands to sort everything even further. This holiday home in Daverdisse was everything we needed for our family getaway, The spacious layout allowed everyone to have their own space, and the kids had a blast in the garden playing with our dog, The terrace was perfect for our evening barbecues, and the surrounding nature made for peaceful mornings with just the sound of birds, We'll definitely be back!

This vacation home exceeded our expectations. The interior was well-equipped, which made meal preparation and relaxing together easy. The living room was a great space for our family game nights. We enjoyed exploring the nearby Hart Woods, and the tranquility of Daverdisse made our stay even more pleasant. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the host was very welcoming.

Hostess who received us sat with her poor Dutch just walked in and immediately started to complain about too many lights that were on. And heating that was too high. We had only just arrived so we were heating things up. We also had to be careful with the curtains. As if we depended on it. The children were frightened by a lot of bugs (brown ladybugs) in the corners of the bedrooms and also in the pleated curtains. The lady of the house said this was normal because this was a well insulated house. But she didn't want to start cleaning curtains. That would fall under animal cruelty. You don't necessarily have to kill, could also be done in another way, but she didn't want to respond. On departure she came by for a final check with a butt in her hand. Apart from this, we had a nice time. Nice and quiet and cozy.

While the property itself was nice and well-maintained, I would not recommend it for groups of young people looking to have a lively vacation. Additionally, the owner of the house was not particularly friendly during our stay, which detracted from our overall experience. Perhaps the biggest issue we encountered, however, was with the neighbors. They began complaining about noise in the garden as early as 6pm, even when we were just sitting and talking. Overall, while the property may be suitable for a more low-key vacation, I would caution against booking this vacation home if you are looking for a more lively and social atmosphere.
