Friendly explanation and information. Cozy decor and really everything present. Ideal for children and the elderly in bad weather, an annex with ping-pong table, shuffleboard and music. Many games also for outside. Nice garden with many seats. Beautiful forests, and half an hour away there is an activity center for young and old. Can also rent bicycles. We have a great time. The house is beautiful and furnished with love. The decor is very good. The gardener was wonderful. Anne Lorent took good care of us during our stay and is always accessible to any questions / problems. However, the location of the house is very remote. If you want to find peace, this is the right place. There is little infrastructure in the vicinity. Without a car goes almost nothing. Unfortunately almost all restaurants were closed during the holidays, so you were forced to cook. During the rainy season, we used the smaller, also belonging house with table tennis table, music system and seating possibilities.

Reception was super friendly and well organized. Together with 8 friends enjoyed the villa very much. It was clean, spacious enough and we lacked anything. Lovely garden with various seating areas and great BBQ opportunity. Most of the time spent a lot of time, because there is really plenty more to do in the area. A weekend was therefore far too short. Recommendations include Railbiken (Warnant), Abdij Maredsous, Dam at the Lakes of "Eau d" Heure. Deliciously eaten at 1km distance at Beauchamp. Delhaize supermarket also nearby. Overall, highly recommended!

Our short break (long weekend) was from the beginning to the end a success. We were greeted by the very friendly owner, who showed us the house. The house is beautiful and cozy, so we immediately felt at home. The bedrooms and two bathrooms were very well maintained. Upon arrival, the beds were already made up and a flower was ready. The other facilities in the kitchen and living room were also perfect. This holiday we recommend very highly. As was our weekend in November, many tourist attractions closed. The setting is beautiful and walking and cycling is always possible.

The owner of the house is very friendly and benevolent. The house was neat clean and it looks all dressed and well maintained. The only downside we experienced that in the area is not very much to do. And it might be useful to do in the sockets safety caps, since the sockets just above the ground.

We enjoyed having the pet chicken around and the garden was lovely to play and lay about it. If we ever visit Belgium again we would definitely want to stay. This holiday house ticks all the boxes for me. It is beautifully located in the slope of a valley. Together with a small dwelling of the owner it is surrounded by a well maintained en very spacious garden. The house itself is very refined renovation of an old barn and has a lot of charm. Besides all this beauty, the site and the house are very well equipped. There are two terraces and a bbq-corner in the garden. At the entrance, you're supposed to store your (walking) shoes, so an extra pair of indoor shoes come in handy. The ground floor is organized around a central and open staircase. The open kitchen has enough working space and overlooks the dining table. The fireplace has comfortable couches and an ottoman. The whole is tastefully furnished. Upstairs, the landing is nicely lit from above. There are two tidy bathrooms. However the design of these seems a bit outdated, everything is well maintained. The sleeping rooms are cosily arranged, but the screens could have been a bit heavier for darkening, in my personal experience. All in all, this really is an outstanding holiday home in the western region of the Ardennes. I'm very happy that I could stay here with seven other friends, we had a wonderful time. I'm very grateful to the owner with whom I had a very good and pleasant contact. I hope we can come here again!

However, the small pebble streams where only locals come are also nearby and provided afternoons of entertainment for our children.

Very neat and practical house! Fantastic Smeg cooking stove. The owner is a very sweet lady. There is an open staircase and if you are a family with small children who go to sleep / wake up earlier, it might be a less interesting house because of noise pollution .... with an enclosed upper floor you will not have this. We would have found a 2nd fridge handy; was now less applicable due to the bad weather, but if it is a warm summer and you are 8, it is still useful to keep the drinks fresh in a separate fridge .... You can keep the other fridge for the food, is a luxury problem somewhere but a useful tip :). There is underfloor heating and a cassette fireplace which is very nice and pleasant. In short, a fantastic house with a beautiful garden and terrace!

It was some searching before we found the house, but we do like the locations in the middle of the fields. The house was perfectly fine, everything was there. For our family of 8 people had their own bedroom, which we greatly appreciate. We had the weather gauge and have been able to walk around and also some factions petanque played in the garden with a nice glass on the sun loungers. Delicious Sunday we went to Chimay been able to visit as well as Espace Chimay the abbey. We had a fun weekend and this is worth doing again!

All the comfort for a group of 4x2 In the immediate vicinity is the beautiful walking / cycling. The cows walking in the meadow next to the house were a bonus.

Our week is unfortunately already over. We stayed with four friends in the holiday Le Marteaubois and will be back. It is a beautiful home and also beautifully situated. What can be said, is that the hostess was very friendly and made us feel welcome. At home there was sufficient information (including maps), so go to the tourist office was no longer necessary. If I really need to find a negative point I would say the eclipse in the bedrooms which are white and fairly translucent, especially in summer when the early light, this can be annoying. On the one loft you have 2 single beds in the other one sleeping bags. Therefore, you can sleep with 10-12, but 8 is recommended. Elderberry Ingen not suitable for children. 2 lovely bathrooms. Beautiful area. Bathing Waters at 20km. Hospitable owner and punctual. We thought it was a must!

In the house you will find all kinds of electrical appliances and tableware to prepare meals and serve. The welcome by the landlady was very cordial. The house is very neat. There are 4 full bedrooms, 3 for 2 adults and 1 for 2 adults and possibly 2 children. Cots and chairs available. Also outdoor and indoor toys, BBQ (less quality) and sun loungers.

A beautifully renovated house is really wonder full kitchen with plenty of cooking equipment, large living room where everyone can sit "at ease" even though you're with 8 people, 4 bedrooms and 2 beautiful bathrooms. We (party of four adults and two teenagers) spent a fantastic week in Le Marteaubois. The house was lovely and the location stunning. Overall it exceeded our expectations which were based on the information on the website. The weather was variable and on rainy days we went to the Grottes de Neptune and the local castle in Chimay. Both are well worth visiting. On sunny days we just enjoyed the tranquillity of the garden and the great barbeque. The Wi-Fi proved a success with our teenage sons.

Our week is unfortunately already over. We stayed with four friends in the holiday Le Marteaubois and will be back. It is a beautiful home and also beautifully situated. Moreover, it is well equipped with everything you want. Stone grill to petanque balls, Wifi to console. The weather was slightly less with it, but you can not possibly get bored. What can be said, is that the hostess was very friendly and made us feel welcome. At home there was sufficient information (including maps), so go to the tourist office was no longer necessary. If I really need to find a negative point I would say the eclipse in the bedrooms which are white and fairly translucent, especially in summer when the early light, this can be annoying. But I solved this by making hanging a blanket. The hostess told us that she's smaller cottage next to the house on the organization as a play room and extra bedroom. Yet more reason to come back.
