Al’Meson is a bygone glory. TV upstairs does not work and the hostess could not set it up either. Wifi on the upper floors is very poor. Unfavorable parking situation. Overgrown garden with a completely worn-out bench. It is very annoying that our hostess was not reachable during the day, as she worked all day. The alarm system went off without any danger. Very difficult stairs to climb for old folks like us.

The house is really very old. Charmingly decorated. Not all rooms were equally pleasant. Our 2 dogs found the garden perfectly fine. It was well fenced which gave us a sense of security. In the end we had a very nice holiday in a beautiful region with many beautiful walks nearby.

Al Mezon is a house with a soul. A great deal of attention has been paid to the furnishings: different styles, many beautiful objects, coordinated colours, modern comfort in terms of appliances. We were welcomed quickly, even though we arrived a little early. It was also very pleasant that we were allowed to stay until after noon on the day of departure, as new guests did not arrive immediately. The garden is smaller than in the pictures. The house inside is spacious, but dark. Everything is certainly present in the kitchen, only cutlery could be a bit more. The house has three floors. One bedroom has little privacy, because it gives off the hallway. The stairs to the attic playroom are a miller's staircase, which can be dangerous for smaller children. We were pleasantly surprised that the beds were made on arrival. The mattress of the bed in the "shell room" needs to be replaced The house certainly has its charm, but - as mentioned above - also has some points of attention.It is located in a very beautiful typical village from which several walks depart.A bakery is not nearby, but there is a supermarket.

We rented the house for 4 days with 9 people. Due to its age, the house has a very individual charm and potential. Unfortunately, the furnishings of the house left a lot to be desired. The utensils in the kitchen and living room are partly unusable (pots and pans) and dirty, there is a lack of usable cutlery for all guests, as well as kitchen helpers. The countertop is black with mold around the sink. The front door in the living room cannot be locked. Overall, the floor, surfaces and lamps are not sufficiently cleaned. In the bedrooms the mattresses are partially saggy, in one bedroom there were ladybugs in the corners. One bedroom was open to the hallway. The top playroom is cluttered with old and broken toys. The room is not acceptable as a bedroom. The garden is also in poor condition and cannot be used. Overall, the house has its own historical charm, but is more reminiscent of an old flea market than a guest accommodation.

The stay in this house was not fantastic. In December it is clear that the building does not have a high energy class. That the stove burns warmly was much needed. Visitors must in any case take care of the firewood themselves. We are kindly invited to burn a cozy fire in advance, but there is no wood. The wood in the courtyard belongs to a local resident who is not happy if you think you will use this wood. The wifi doesn't work. In a weekend with World Cup football, we thought that was a great loss. In any case, it is survival for teenagers if there is no wifi available. An attempt to remedy this did not seem very credible to me. The front door to the courtyard cannot be closed. In the winter cold this was not really enjoyable. In short: despite the good intentions of the landlord, it is a house with defects that needs to be looked at carefully to get it to an acceptable level.

Al Mezon ... It started with the reception. On the one hand very kindly received with a basket full of goodies and a fresh bouquet of flowers, but on the other hand (and that's where it starts for me) we were received without a mouth mask, without distance and everything was touched and opened by the person who gave us the tour. Not okay in corona times! We found the kitchen and the downstairs bathroom not that neat at all (lime on the coffee pot, yellowish deposits on the wall behind the sink, 5 wooden cutting boards that are exposed to the sink just like that. Dirty cutlery, odor in the refrigerator and in the house) The downstairs bathroom: the glass plate of the shower was white with lime and the shower curtain was completely moldy at the bottom, the bathroom walls don't look so neat either (black deposits from the humidity) When I reported this to the owner, the the next day a new shower curtain and new toilet brush delivered. Together with 4 pieces of ice cream cake (...) The bedrooms are all very attractive and tidy. Although I would rather not see a carpet around a toilet. The mattresses in the white room do need to be replaced. Everything is there in the house: far too much of everything. (if there are not 50 plates and glasses and bowls to be found here, you will not find them anywhere) Because everything is so crammed in the cupboards, you have nowhere to store your own kitchen provisions. All self-brought foods that cannot be put in the refrigerator can then be placed on the counter all over the place. This cottage can be booked for 9 people: we thought it was exactly OK to come with 4 adults and 1 dog. The garden does not lend itself to a day of chilling in the garden: uncomfortable sun loungers, hardly any grass and what is there is high and is full of fallen cherries, so that the garden is full of wasps. We had a great stay at Al Mezon warm welcome (the owner was waiting for us and gave us all the info needed). She had prepared a basket of sweets, offered an aperitif, decorated the house with some bouquets of flowers.The authentic house has been restored with taste and love and gives the back on a wonderful natural garden (wild at the limit, this due to the fact that the owner had just returned from travel). Everything is immersed in absolute calm! The house is equipped with all the necessary modern comforts (according to the description) the beds are comfortable, sanitary impeccable, the kitchen provided with every comfort (only downside lack of small and medium pans). We were 4 couples between 50 and 60 years old and we all really enjoyed our stay Al Mézon! We intend to return one day.

We could not have found a better holiday home during the extreme heat wave of 2018 than this beautiful, atmospheric house. The natural stone walls are so thick that they keep the temperature outside. The house is charmingly decorated, with a mix of modernity and nostalgia, and has many cozy corners that in our opinion could be in a living room.A warm lady who is very good Dutch spoken led us around the house on arrival and explained where necessary, as in the case of Belgian waste separation, which differs a little from the Dutch system. The kitchen is fully equipped, and then we had an extra critical travel companion. with us, someone with a strong allergy, for whom the house and kitchen facilities should be in tip-top condition. With two refrigerators, a good dishwasher and a wide choice of pans, dishes and dishes was also a carefree holiday for our traveling companion. Our 3 teenagers complained sometimes that the wifi was gone, but quickly discovered where in the house the wifi worked optimally , and social media and movies could be followed.Due to the extreme drought of 2018, kayaking in the river was not possible, the water was too low, but that was not a single point, the area offers much more, such as Adventure Valley in Durbuy, the caves of Remouchamps, pools in nearby towns (swimming cap and tight swimming trunks required), there are museums, flea markets and festivals. You can also easily enjoy a whole day in the beautiful garden, with various corners, and listen under the parasol to the splashing stream that lies just outside the garden. We left on the basis of the references written on this site and they were not lied. We could only arrive late but were welcomed with open arms. The hostess gave us a comprehensive tour and gave explanations about all rooms, appliances and possibilities. A welcome package was ready with tasty cookies as well with 2 jars of homemade jam from the neighbors where a Fruterie is located who produces this delicious confiture. The area was soothing and 3 minutes from the Ourthe. Every day we went for walks with our dog, which was also welcome, along the Ourthe and the rich nature. The village is nearby the larger villages where everything can be found. The village itself only has inhabitants and no shops. Sometimes a shame for the fresh bread in the morning but now again not a disaster. You are in Chaufontaine, Spa, Durbuy and Vielsalm within 40 minutes. A must is a walk along the Ninglingspo. You think it is Chinese but the history where this name comes from is unfortunately not found, but the river with its many small waterfalls was wonderful. In general super friendly people in the villages. The hospitality industry, on the other hand, was against the friendliness.

Little points of criticism to improve reception TV no manual, but 3 French channels can find after a lot of times. Not a decent information folder with rules about the house and what to do with the waste? The oven does work after a long time to have figured out how it works, it only takes 2 hours before it is at temperature. With manual that is decent, this all makes a difference. A very warm welcome by the owner with Belgian beer, chocolate, cookies, flowers from the garden and there was even firewood ready. The house is best described as a sort of "Harry Potter" house, lots of trinkets, crooked floors, small steps and attractive rooms. Across the courtyard is even "jam" made, which is also for sale (and very tasty). We have talked with nine people and three dogs really to our liking. Yes, the living room is a little on the small side and some drafty, but that makes it nice again. The bedrooms on the first floor are nice, but there is only one toilet on this floor, so you or have to go down, if you have the "night not mind that someone goes to the bathroom through the bedroom." The Moroccan 'sitting \/ bedroom is more of a walk-through room to another room, so less suitable for sleeping. You can make nice walks along the Ourthe, otherwise there is little to do in the town. I like the caves of Remouchamps, Durbuy and Spa visit can not be missed. it is however expected that last not too much, the sources are not really spectacular. We thought it was a nice house. We really loved staying in Al Mezon, such a beautiful and historically interesting house. The owner was so friendly and helpful -and spoke excellent English! The surrounding area was full of amazing places to see and visit, from chateaux to caves to museums or brewing, baking, and chocolate, and the landscape was lovely too. Being so close to the border Meant bootable we were to have a couple of trips to Germany and The Netherlands-which was fun.

All activities are nearby, shopping at Durbuy, take the kids to Plopsa, on Sunday at the flea comb and Spa by boat through the cave of Remouchamp. Of course walking site in the immediate vicinity along the Ourthe. A recommendation was also a sometime chili dinner at River Creek Ranch. Here you can also go horse riding. Self-catering we have done with fresh produce from the farm village winkelltje fresh from the country. Nicole our hostess speaks good English and is very friendly. We had nice weather so for us it was a top five of holiday. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for peace, culture, nature and luxury.

The house is really very old. Charmingly decorated. Not all rooms were equally pleasant. Our 2 dogs found the garden perfectly fine. It was well fenced which gave us a sense of security. In the end we had a very nice holiday in a beautiful region with many beautiful walks nearby.

With two families (each family 2 children) we had a wonderful week's holiday in Al Mezon (August 2009). The house is with a great sense of style and decorated with love. Upon arrival there were fresh flowers in every room from the garden. Further many decorative items and beautiful old (also new) furniture in the house. The garden has several seating areas and corners, very romantic. The more practical matters were quite right: the equipment of the kitchen, the bathroom, the playroom, et cetera. The operator was friendly, helpful and welcoming. In the immediate vicinity of the house we could swim in the Ourthe (bring water shoes!) And beautiful walks. The house is an absolute must for those who love an old house with character but still loves the luxury of modern convenience will. We will definitely return!

We stayed in this house from 28/2 to 2/3 2009. It was a surprise weekend for our parents who celebrated 35th wedding anniversary. We were 5 adults, 2 toddlers and a baby. The children enjoyed themselves. The house looks like a fairytale, with many rooms, all very cozy and romantic furnishings. The plumbing is perfect and the kitchen with all luxury. On Saturday we had a surprise cook hired a gourmet dinner prepared. Ideally, exclusive dining in a homely atmosphere with the grandchildren there. For those who like visiting a market in Bomal there on a beautiful Sunday morning market, with a beautiful playground nearby. Furthermore enough trips to do in the area (nice zoo, paardenranche, hiking, caves ...) Certainly worth. We rented the house for 4 days with 9 people. Due to its age, the house has a very individual charm and potential. Unfortunately, the furnishings of the house left a lot to be desired. The utensils in the kitchen and living room are partly unusable (pots and pans) and dirty, there is a lack of usable cutlery for all guests, as well as kitchen helpers. The countertop is black with mold around the sink. The front door in the living room cannot be locked. Overall, the floor, surfaces and lamps are not sufficiently cleaned. In the bedrooms the mattresses are partially saggy, in one bedroom there were ladybugs in the corners. One bedroom was open to the hallway. The top playroom is cluttered with old and broken toys. The room is not acceptable as a bedroom. The garden is also in poor condition and cannot be used. Overall, the house has its own historical charm, but is more reminiscent of an old flea market than a guest accommodation.

The stay in this house was not fantastic. In December it is clear that the building does not have a high energy class. That the stove burns warmly was much needed. Visitors must in any case take care of the firewood themselves. We are kindly invited to burn a cozy fire in advance, but there is no wood. The wood in the courtyard belongs to a local resident who is not happy if you think you will use this wood. The wifi doesn't work. In a weekend with World Cup football, we thought that was a great loss. In any case, it is survival for teenagers if there is no wifi available. An attempt to remedy this did not seem very credible to me. The front door to the courtyard cannot be closed. In the winter cold this was not really enjoyable. Al Mezon ... It started with the reception. On the one hand very kindly received with a basket full of goodies and a fresh bouquet of flowers, but on the other hand (and that's where it starts for me) we were received without a mouth mask, without distance and everything was touched and opened by the person who gave us the tour. Not okay in corona times! We found the kitchen and the downstairs bathroom not that neat at all (lime on the coffee pot, yellowish deposits on the wall behind the sink, 5 wooden cutting boards that are exposed to the sink just like that. Dirty cutlery, odor in the refrigerator and in the house) The downstairs bathroom: the glass plate of the shower was white with lime and the shower curtain was completely moldy at the bottom, the bathroom walls don't look so neat either (black deposits from the humidity) When I reported this to the owner, the the next day a new shower curtain and new toilet brush delivered. Together with 4 pieces of ice cream cake (...) The bedrooms are all very attractive and tidy. Although I would rather not see a carpet around a toilet. The mattresses in the white room do need to be replaced. Everything is there in the house: far too much of everything. (if there are not 50 plates and glasses and bowls to be found here, you will not find them anywhere) Because everything is so crammed in the cupboards, you have nowhere to store your own kitchen provisions. All self-brought foods that cannot be put in the refrigerator can then be placed on the counter all over the place. This cottage can be booked for 9 people: we thought it was exactly OK to come with 4 adults and 1 dog. The garden does not lend itself to a day of chilling in the garden: uncomfortable sun loungers, hardly any grass and what is there is high and is full of fallen cherries, so that the garden is full of wasps. We had a great stay at Al Mezon warm welcome (the owner was waiting for us and gave us all the info needed). She had prepared a basket of sweets, offered an aperitif, decorated the house with some bouquets of flowers.The authentic house has been restored with taste and love and gives the back on a wonderful natural garden (wild at the limit, this due to the fact that the owner had just returned from travel). Everything is immersed in absolute calm! The house is equipped with all the necessary modern comforts (according to the description) the beds are comfortable, sanitary impeccable, the kitchen provided with every comfort (only downside lack of small and medium pans). We were 4 couples between 50 and 60 years old and we all really enjoyed our stay Al Mézon! We intend to return one day.

We could not have found a better holiday home during the extreme heat wave of 2018 than this beautiful, atmospheric house. The natural stone walls are so thick that they keep the temperature outside. The house is charmingly decorated, with a mix of modernity and nostalgia, and has many cozy corners that in our opinion could be in a living room.A warm lady who is very good Dutch spoken led us around the house on arrival and explained where necessary, as in the case of Belgian waste separation, which differs a little from the Dutch system. The kitchen is fully equipped, and then we had an extra critical travel companion. with us, someone with a strong allergy, for whom the house and kitchen facilities should be in tip-top condition. With two refrigerators, a good dishwasher and a wide choice of pans, dishes and dishes was also a carefree holiday for our traveling companion. Our 3 teenagers complained sometimes that the wifi was gone, but quickly discovered where in the house the wifi worked optimally , and social media and movies could be followed.Due to the extreme drought of 2018, kayaking in the river was not possible, the water was too low, but that was not a single point, the area offers much more, such as Adventure Valley in Durbuy, the caves of Remouchamps, pools in nearby towns (swimming cap and tight swimming trunks required), there are museums, flea markets and festivals. We left on the basis of the references written on this site and they were not lied. We could only arrive late but were welcomed with open arms. The hostess gave us a comprehensive tour and gave explanations about all rooms, appliances and possibilities. A welcome package was ready with tasty cookies as well with 2 jars of homemade jam from the neighbors where a Fruterie is located who produces this delicious confiture. The area was soothing and 3 minutes from the Ourthe. Every day we went for walks with our dog, which was also welcome, along the Ourthe and the rich nature. The village is nearby the larger villages where everything can be found. The village itself only has inhabitants and no shops. Sometimes a shame for the fresh bread in the morning but now again not a disaster. You are in Chaufontaine, Spa, Durbuy and Vielsalm within 40 minutes. A must is a walk along the Ninglingspo. You think it is Chinese but the history where this name comes from is unfortunately not found, but the river with its many small waterfalls was wonderful. In general super friendly people in the villages. The hospitality industry, on the other hand, was against the friendliness.

The oven does work after a long time to have figured out how it works, it only takes 2 hours before it is at temperature. With manual that is decent, this all makes a difference. A very rustic and pitoresk house with lots of character. Nice rooms and nice bathrooms. We enjoyed tremendously. Very nice area with plenty of walking opportunities. And only 11kn Durbuy which is a nice trip. This property is recommended.

This house is part of an old farmhouse with center square. Live another three dozen families around this square. The reception was very good and when we had a BBQ held the owner himself came cocktails langsbrengen.In made the village itself is unfortunate enough to do anything. A car is definitely recommended. Super house! Really everything is there. Great reception, very welcoming, candles burning, welcome pack was ready, beds were wonderfully made. The house was even more beautiful and cozier than on the site. Kitchen is fully equipped. The garden is completely fenced, which is very pleasant with a dog. We have lovely walks from the cottage. The weekend was really great and definitely worth repeating! And the fireplace is obviously a real plus. SO cozy.

What a nice house, exactly what we were looking for, well furnished, very cozy and comfortable. Definitely not your average holiday. The garden was lovely to stay, as well as the living room with open fireplace and various seating areas in the rest of the house. If you are with small children, they can see themselves in bad weather also love the playroom. We will definitely come back. The owner is attentive, helpful, March fine too remote if you want.

We enjoyed our stay at Al "Mezon! The house is extremely cozy and the welcome was very warm, with cakes, candles, flowers and homemade raspberry jam. The owner has an eye for detail and can therefore identify what guests want. There were several gourmet set, fondue set a wok, the kitchen equipment was very complete. addition, two refrigerators and good kitchen. Area is very nice, you can enjoy hiking or excursions. On Sunday morning there is a nice market in Bomal. Upon departure gave very hospitable owner to be satisfied if her guests are satisfied, that says enough. We like to come here again!
