Dream holiday

We spent two wonderful weeks on Mauritius and felt very comfortable in the house of the Lohse family!
Everything worked out great...the communication in advance was very cordial, as was the welcome in the house by the parents-in-law
We especially liked the tasteful furnishings and the atmospheric lighting concept in the house and garden!
Every morning we drank our morning coffee on the terrace while the birds were chirping.
We travelled by bus for the first time and found this very enriching - so we were "in the middle of things instead of just being there"!
Everything was available in the nearby supermarket.
We will definitely be back!

Beautiful garden, great house, happy to come back!

We spent almost 3 weeks in Mauritius and felt very comfortable in this house. It was quite quiet, the proximity to the road did not bother us at all. We appreciated the privacy and the beautiful garden with many sunbathing possibilities and also liked the location very much. In the area you can find everything you need, a big supermarket, pharmacy, great restaurants and beautiful beaches and with the rental car we could explore the island wonderfully
The contact with the owners is very nice, the local in-laws very cordial and with the maid we could arrange a time that suited us.
The only thing we found a pity was that there was nothing in the kitchen and so we had to go shopping for basics like salt, sugar, oil etc., as well as a sponge, washing-up liquid, bin liners and toilet paper. We would have expected such basic equipment, at least for the first few days. We also left a lot of things behind, as you don't use everything up for such a short time
Also, the internet did not always work, or only very slowly
Otherwise, we enjoyed our time very much and can definitely recommend this beautiful house.

Danger of addiction!!!

There are two ways to spend a holiday in Mauritius: isolated in a resort hotel or in the middle of it all. Since the former is interchangeable all over the world, we opted for the second option and hit a "six with a super number" with the accommodation. But first things first:

The house has a spacious living area, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 air-conditioned bedrooms, bathroom with shower and toilet as well as a guest toilet. Everything corresponds to local standards (including the power sockets) and is very lovingly and tastefully furnished. Of course you spend the day outside, the terrace and the spacious garden are just inviting. It is almost no exaggeration to say that the garden makes a visit to Pamplemousse superfluous, a single splendour of plants. The greenkeeper and the housekeeper make sure that it stays that way twice a week. The soul of the property, however, is Mr Antoine, who scrupulously supervises the work, lends a hand and is simply infectious with his good humour.

Black River / Rivière Noire has everything a holiday resort needs: shopping centre, supermarket, a variety of restaurants and, of course, a freely accessible beach. You can get everything you need here.

To explore the island, a rental car is recommended. However, Mauritians drive on "the wrong side" and with a lot of faith in God. In addition, the traffic volume is quite high and the roads quite narrow and winding. Basically, you should calculate the driving times generously and not expect too much of yourself. Heading north or around Port Louis, you are hopelessly stuck in traffic jams before 10 am and after 4 pm, and an average speed of 40 km borders on breakneck speeding.

We spent three wonderful weeks here and are already looking forward to our next visit!

The house leaves nothing to be desired. A superb equipment and a beautifully landscaped, well-maintained garden allow for a relaxing holiday. The small village with its beautiful beach, good restaurants, and large supermarket is not as crowded as other places. Often, a taxi is parked in front of the Women's Health Center at the back exit. The driver lives only 2 houses away. Recommended are day trips with the taxi driver who visits all possible sights on the island.

Eine wunderbare Oase

If you are looking for peace, relaxation, and informality in Mauritius, you can hardly find anything better or more beautiful. We fell in love, in particular, with the absolutely wonderful garden, the perfectly equipped kitchen, and the various small spots where one can eat, relax, read, and dream. We were thrilled to have driven almost a thousand kilometers around Mauritius, often had lunch at selected restaurants – and then were always happy to be "home" again. Thanks also for the loving reception by the father-in-law (that we didn't understand everything was ultimately irrelevant). See you soon!

Beautiful garden and lovingly furnished house.

You can immediately tell that the house is also used by the owner, nothing is missing. Whether it's the small grill or the salad spinner, everything is there. We really enjoyed our time there, especially the early morning hours with a coffee in the sun lounger overlooking the beautiful garden. With some luck, you can also watch parrots there. We were very nicely welcomed by the parents-in-law and there were already some drinks prepared for us in the fridge. Restaurants and shopping opportunities are within walking distance and the beach is also easily accessible. The water, at almost 28°C, is only suitable for cooling off to a limited extent, but we found it delightful and used it extensively every day. If you want to enjoy your vacation far away from mass tourism in a dreamlike landscape, this is the right place. We definitely have not been here for the last time.

Traumhaus

In this large, beautifully furnished house equipped with everything imaginable, one can simply be content. The garden, large and lovingly maintained, you would prefer not to leave at all. Particularly noteworthy is the kindness and helpfulness of the landlord's father-in-law, who is the contact person for all questions that arise. The only downside was the water quality at the beach located 10 minutes away, which was not optimal at least during that week.

Wonderful vacation.

Super Urlaub

Super nice contact and perfect tips. The house is optimally equipped and very cozy with a huge garden. Everything is perfect for feeling comfortable. Very nice contact also on-site with the parents/in-laws of the owners. Supermarket, restaurants, and the sea in close proximity. All in all, a great vacation.

Fantastic vacation!

We spent 3 wonderful weeks in the really well-equipped house. We did a lot because very beautiful destinations are quickly reachable, also by bus!!

Vicinity of the holiday home: Landstraße führt sehr dicht am Gelände vorbei,fuer uns nicht so störend. Während unseren Aufenthalt waren die Bauarbeiten auf dem Nachbargrundstück störender.

free time activities: Gute Wohngegend. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind schnell und gut zu erreichen. Zum Strand ca. 300m

Beautiful house with top-of-the-line equipment!

The house is very stylishly furnished and the equipment leaves nothing to be desired! The kitchen is modern and well stocked. In the living room, there is a HiFi system for listening to music, a flat-screen TV with DVD player, and a satellite system. The street mentioned multiple times in the reviews in the neighborhood is audible, but the traffic density at night is close to zero. An agreed-upon time could be arranged with the housekeeper and the very nice father-in-law who takes care of the garden. We felt very comfortable there!

Beautiful estate in a less beautiful environment.

House and garden are very beautiful, well-maintained, and clean. Unfortunately, a main road passes by at a short distance. We live more quietly in Cologne.

It is a strong intrusion of privacy that a stranger (the father-in-law) works in the garden twice a week in the morning at 8 (!) and even considers it normal to enter the house itself. This has never happened to us before. There is nothing against it if the landlord or authorized persons occasionally (rarely) carry out any work after announcing it by phone in advance. This should be improved.

Sehr schöner Urlaub

Large house and very beautiful garden (ours is even more beautiful), interesting for animal and plant lovers like us. Best beach on the island reachable on foot in 10 minutes. Earplugs are a must for country dwellers like us against the air conditioning and traffic noise, but for city plants, this is surely not a problem.

Everything in the description is 100% accurate. A beautiful and superbly equipped house surrounded by an enchanting garden. Depending on your mood, you can sunbathe in the garden or on the terrace, relax in the shade, enjoy the calm or a refreshing breeze. Just great!!! And the few meters to a very beautiful and less frequented beach were not a problem even for someone as absolutely "lazy" as me. The caring support from the family of the owners on-site made our stay unforgettable.
We had a wonderfully beautiful vacation there and can only recommend it.

A dream in the green

We spent 7 days as a couple in this beautiful house, which leaves nothing to be desired. The furnishings are very harmonious and modern, the garden is beautiful and very well-maintained. The contact with the owners was extremely nice and uncomplicated. The house is big enough even for 4 people.

We had a great week there, with trips in all directions and cozy days at the beach. We didn't want to leave.

Three weeks, a dream.

Very nice, very relaxing as a vacation should be. The facilities are very pleasant and complete. Large garden with many birds. Everything important is nearby: beach, supermarket, and restaurant.
