Our holiday home "Blick zum Rennsteig" is completely furnished and suitable for a holiday up to 9 persons. You have a large living room with panoramic view, TV-video and integrated fully equipped kitchenette, three separate bedrooms ( a four-bed room with a double bed couch and two single beds, two-bed room with a possible extra bed, two-bed room with a possible extra bed and TV ) , and 2x bathrooms with shower and toilet each. The outdoor facilities include an enclosed property with parking space, a covered seating area with barbecue and playground, sandpit, swing, slide, table tennis table ... For larger numbers of people, the directly adjacent flat (only offered in connection with the holiday home) can also be requested. This has a living/bedroom for two people with kitchenette, TV/video, as well as shower & WC.

The vacation home is located on the mountain above the city.
In the historic timber-framed town "Schmalkalden" there is much to discover. Among other things, the historic city center, Wilhelmsburg Castle with its museum, VIBA Nougat World, a children's toy factory / indoor playground, two bowling alleys, a very nice swimming and fun pool (solar-heated outdoor pool with a swimming area, adventure pool, paddling pool, snack bar, McDonald's right next door, just 2 minutes by car from the holiday home, easily accessible on foot via quiet side streets), as an alternative to this (also in winter), there is the Inselbergbad about 20 km away (combined indoor and outdoor pool with sauna area, tube slide, paddling pool area, playground, bistro). . . ) In the immediate vicinity, many other attractive destinations beckon, as well as a large number of hiking and cycling trails, which make every nature lover's heart beat faster. Family friendly
The John family is super friendly; we were welcomed with coffee and delicious cookies. The view from the balcony is beautiful. There was more than enough space for us in the house. We were 2 adults and 3 children. Another double bed is located on the lower floor. Personally, I was a bit disturbed that there seem to be garden sheds nearby, where it was sometimes quite loud until late evening. Nevertheless, we felt very comfortable. The garden is great for children. I would wish for the equipment to include, for example, a baking dish and a baking pan, as well as a mixer. Otherwise, there is nothing to complain about. There are plenty of excursion destinations; for instance, we were at the fun park on Inselberg. There, you can zoom down the large summer toboggan run, among other things. We would be happy to come back. One more personal word to Mrs. John, thank you for the warm welcome and the nice conversation we had. Thank you very much!

Hiking vacation
The vacation home is located on a slope with a real view of the Rennsteig. It was the starting point for beautiful hikes, for example to the Henneberger Haus, into the Roßbachtal or to Burg Maienluft. The beautiful city of Schmalkalden was also easily accessible on foot. Our granddaughter was happy about the slide and swings, the adults about the table tennis table and barbecue area. We felt very comfortable and can only recommend the vacation home. The jam donated by Mrs. John also tasted very good.

New Year's Eve in Schmalkalden
We stayed with 9 people (8 adults and one child) over New Year's Eve in the holiday home (including the flat) and were very satisfied. The house has a great view over the city and we could watch the New Year's Eve fireworks from the house or from the balcony. The location is good and we had enough space with 9 people. Each family had their own bedroom and the large table was great. We can recommend the holiday home 100%.

Super area
Super house, beautiful area, have much Unternommen because the weather has not played along otherwise super holiday. Thanks also to the son who put together the brochure for the excursions. Many thanks to the John family, friendly, our questions were answered competently, our grandchildren and we liked it very much, all in all super.
