Well-tended, old cypress avenues are the landmark of the estate, which lies in absolute tranquillity at the end of a cul-de-sac. There is a wonderful view of the Tuscan hilly landscape on all sides.
The manor houses have been left with their Tuscan character on the outside, while inside they are tastefully furnished in the typical Tuscan country house style.
Some flats have a dishwasher. Each flat has its own terrace with garden furniture and its own entrance.

Location and surroundings of object
The nearest major town is Montaione (about 8 km). This is a quaint Tuscan town. Here you can experience the local life. In Montaione there is a large supermarket, several small shops, banks, pharmacy, ATM and more.
A small shop for everyday necessities such as fresh bread, there are about 2 km away. The farm Il Poggio is located approximately 20km north-west of San Gimignano in a small village called Sughera.

Arrive and be right in paradise, that's il Poggio!
We have spent several holidays here now and it is always a dream. The peace and quiet, the beautiful houses that are generously spread out on the estate. Here you can relax incredibly well. (the beds are also great!) The pool offers refreshment and you can spend days there just looking at the view. The hosts are very attentive and yet not intrusive. Here you can let your mind wander while the children can play on the grounds without any worries. If it gets too lonely, there are many beautiful towns in the immediate vicinity and a supermarket with a great meat counter leaves nothing to be desired.

Beautiful quiet location ideal for relaxation
We were at the country estate Il Poggio for the first time and it was a wonderful holiday. Ideal for relaxing and going on excursions. The hosts Giorgio and Tiziana were always friendly and accommodating. If someone can cook, it's Tiziana. The only downside is the very small shower corner. We will come back in 2020.

Toskana, wie man sie im Kopf hat
Wenn man die Toskana ursprünglich erleben will, sollte man Il Poggio besuchen. Dort ist die Toskana so, wie man sie im Kopf hat: typisch und ursprünglich. Obwohl es dort sehr einsam ist, fehlt es an nichts. Die Betreuung auf Il Poggio ist optimal. Und die Entfernungen zu den kulturellen Höhepunkten sind gering. Tagestouren nach Florenz, Pisa oder Siena (alle 60 km entfernt) bieten sich an. Auf Il Poggio ist man danach wieder in der toskanischen Einsamkeit. Eine wunderbare Mischung.

Wunderschönes Ferienambiente, ideal zum Entspannen
seit 20 Jahren besuche ich immer wieder Il Poggio - mit jüngeren und großen Kindern/ohne Kinder - und bin jedes Mal begeistert, die Anlage ist schön gepflegt, die Wohnungen Toskana typisch und sauber, die Lage ideal für Ausflüge und angenehm zum Verweilen, großer Pool mit traumhafter Aussicht, Tennisplatz, sympathische Gastgeber; für mich einer meiner Lieblingsurlaubsplätze!
