Beautiful property in a very quiet location in the south of Crete, the dream beach Triopetra is accessible within 2 minutes by car. The manager of the property is very nice and helpful. Strongly in need of improvement: When it rains, you cannot stay on the terrace or the balcony - the roofs are leaking! Staying in the kitchen is very uncomfortable during bad weather due to the lack of windows. Fly screens are urgently needed upstairs and downstairs - the mosquitoes make the nights very restless! Cushions for the chairs on the terrace would be nice.

Beautiful accommodation with a fantastic view of the sea and pool. Those seeking tranquility and seclusion will find it here! The Triopetra beach is beautiful and probably not crowded even in peak season due to its size. In April, we were the only ones here. Taverns and a minimarket open in May, the nearest dining option is in Spili (about 30 minutes away).

Petra Mare is a beautiful, small, quiet, and idyllic resort with a fantastic view of the Libyan Sea. Unfortunately, cleanliness and equipment are lacking. There was not enough crockery (we only had breakfast) - for 3 people, there were only 2 coffee cups with one coaster. There was only one pot with a volume of 5 liters for boiling eggs. The existing coffee machine had a moldy filter. The sandwich maker was so scratched - needs to be replaced urgently. The cleaning at the move-in of the upper bathroom was sparse, and the dust under the bed in the upper floor had probably not been removed for a while (immediately noticeable when coming up the stairs). All in all, we were very disappointed. We have already been to Crete 5 times and have been lucky with our holiday apartments or studios so far.

We spent 2 very beautiful weeks in the dreamy area of Triopetra. The houses of Petra Mare are located very nicely not very far from the wonderful Triopetra beach. Apartment No. 5 and 6 are in the front standalone house and are simply and well equipped. The rear 2 semi-detached houses are more beautiful and have more protected and in some cases larger terraces. However, one can also spend the evenings very nicely in the garden by the pool. Whoever travels to this area should know that there can be very strong winds here at times (like in many regions of Crete). We had 5 days of storm and during that time, we really came to appreciate the wind- and wave-protected bay of Agios Pavlos. The manager Babis is very friendly and helpful. We were at the Petra Mare complex for the 2nd time for 6 weeks. It was beautiful again. The furnishings in the rooms could be a bit more functional and appealing. But you get used to the fact that there are no seating options in the bedrooms. You just have to improvise. Also, the kitchen equipment with dishes, glasses, and pots is not optimal for 4 people at the end of the season. But when it comes to the cleanliness of the rooms and the friendliness of the landlord's son, who takes care of everything intensively, one can be very satisfied. Especially the outdoor areas are very well-maintained. Overall, definitely recommended for people who are mobile and love tranquility.

The holiday home is located in a beautiful location in the small village of Triopetra on the south coast of Crete. We spent very relaxed holidays here. The landlord takes very good care of the property and small problems are promptly resolved. So, if you are looking for peace and a beautiful and well-equipped house, you are absolutely in the right place here. In the area, there are 5 taverns and a mini-market. For slightly larger shopping trips, you can drive to Spili in about 25 minutes. We liked it so much that we would love to go there again.

This review refers to apartment 3. Regarding cleanliness and location, there is only positive feedback. The design of the houses and the overall complex is also very successful, with some drawbacks in terms of functionality. For instance, there are no windows in the living kitchen (a glazed front door would be very helpful here) as well as in the bathroom of the upper bedroom. The internet serves its purpose but is not always stable. It would be helpful to have a note before arrival that - as is often the case in Crete - the key is in the door upon arrival and contacting the landlord is not necessary. Nonetheless, we felt very comfortable. The location and the landscape/beaches are unique. Definitely recommended are - besides Triopetra Beach - excursions to Agios Pavlos/Sleepy Dragon (snorkeling in the head of the dragon is a delight when the sea is calm; the tavern is also recommended), as well as the neighboring Sandy Hill Beach, Amoudi Beach, and Skinaria Beach. There is an outstanding tavern in Spili, focusing on the food rather than the service: Maria & Costa.

The location is very quiet and the houses are pretty nice. In the distance of 1.5 km, there is a nice and empty beach with nice taverns. In my opinion, the houses (kitchens) could be better equipped. There is a shortage of kitchen utensils for food preparation. The closest market is in Spili, which is 18 km away, but if you go on excursions, you will find many small or larger markets on the way, which are open until night. When you arrive in Petra mare, it is very likely that nobody will be waiting for you, so you should find your accommodation on your own (look for a house with keys in the doors). A car is necessary in the area. Nevertheless, the place is definitely worth visiting.

The location of the houses is a dream and the pool is perfect! Unfortunately, there are various problems that cloud the overall impression. One can deal with all these minor flaws, but for a price of 115 EUR/day, we would expect a different standard. 1. The owner does not live on the property as described. The owner's son, who is only occasionally present, speaks very broken English, and it is difficult to communicate with him over the phone. The regular exchange of towels and bed linen is not possible. We strongly recommend providing an information folder with basic instructions on how to operate the property (such as how to activate hot water, access Wi-Fi, and find toilet paper). Upon our arrival, the manager was not present, and if other guests hadn't been there, we would have been quite helpless. Only the upper bedroom has closets, the lower bedroom has no storage options for clothing, so the property is not suitable for 2 couples. The lighting in the bedrooms is insufficient. Bedside lamps should definitely be purchased. The broken light switch in the upper bedroom was not repaired by the manager despite the promise during our stay (11 days). The kitchen is not suitable for catering for four people. There is a lack of knives and pots. There is no workspace. There is hardly any storage space for food, and dish towels are missing. 5. There is satellite TV, out of 340 channels, 320 are in Arabic. German channels: Arte and ZDFNeo. Since we did not travel to watch TV, that didn't bother us, but based on the internet description, one naturally expects more German-language channels. 6. Both bathrooms have little space to store bath essentials. There are no power outlets in the bathroom. While showering, the bathroom regularly gets wet as there are no shower curtains available.

We stayed in House 2 of the complex at the end of June / beginning of July. The house is really top-notch: good and relatively new furnishings, sufficient space, fantastic sea view. The only criticism: we initially had no satellite TV reception, then almost only Arabic or Polish channels, which was somewhat disappointing during the World Cup. The very friendly and helpful son of the landlord was reliant on a technician from Heraklion, who didn't show up. . . The whole complex is very well-maintained, the beautiful pool is regularly cleaned. We also liked the location very much. The fantastic, very spacious and yet rarely visited beach of Triopetra with a nice taverna and a friendly beach bar is only 1km away. Shopping can be done in Spili (about 25 minutes drive). However, it can sometimes get quite windy. The northern wind Vorias blows especially strong in the area around Plakias, which we also experienced on 2 days (including broken branches and power outage). In any case, we felt very comfortable overall, could relax wonderfully, and can highly recommend the facility for this purpose.

This apartment is also very suitable for a 2-month stay. The rooms and the overall complex are much larger than you would expect from the internet photos. Especially the well-equipped kitchen allows for self-catering if you don't want to go to the tavern. The landlord's (son's) care is extremely friendly and helpful. This domicile is highly recommended for those seeking peace and quiet and for travelers with a car.

We were in this super great complex from mid to late June. . . It did not promise too much. Everything was exactly as described in the catalog and on the website. The large apartments are very well equipped. Sufficient space for 4 people. Only a wardrobe is missing in the lower sleeping area. But even there we managed with a few chairs and the TV shelf. Quick improvisation. The pool and the entire rest of the complex are very well maintained. The caretaker (a very nice, polite Greek young man, unfortunately I forgot his name) is completely uncomplicated and takes care of the guests' needs attentively. He even gives out a can of Cola when you refill at his "day job" at the gas station in Akoumia ;-). Triopetra Beach is a dream for anyone who likes large, long beaches where people are not lined up like sardines in a can. On a width of more than a kilometer, very few people frolicked. The crystal-clear water, the clean beach invite you to swim. If you then want to eat or drink, you can drop by directly at the tavern Apothiki near Antonis and we are always greeted very nicely. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. All in all, it was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. It is definitely an address you will gladly return to. Highly recommended!!!

We enjoyed our vacation very much. The property is tastefully decorated and located beautifully with a view of the sea and at night of the Milky Way. However, especially in July, one should not underestimate the strong gusty winds that make reading a newspaper or book by the pool impossible and can snap umbrellas. We did get used to it after a few days though.

Very nice location, very quiet and with a beautiful view. Pleasant furnishings, simple but tasteful; we felt comfortable. The pool is a great joy for the children. If you arrive on the weekend, make sure to bring provisions for the first few days, especially for breakfast, as there is hardly anything available on site. Otherwise, there are several taverns nearby where you can eat well and cheaply at any time. The next beach in Triopetra is very pleasant, peaceful, and not boring due to the three large rocks. There are also many beautiful small beaches to discover in the area. October is an ideal time to travel, with the water still pleasantly warm, sunny, and not too hot.

In Triopetra, a fantastic vacation home with a pool and amazing view awaited us. The house was in excellent condition with high-quality amenities (air conditioning, etc.), even by Greek standards. The entire process was smooth. For those who love solitude, the sound of cicadas, and a sometimes fresh breeze, and are not deterred by a slightly longer drive to other highlights of Crete, Triopetra and PETRA-MARE are highly recommended. My conclusion: Anytime again.

Very friendly welcome, everything great in the holiday house itself, if you overlook the (typical for the country) "Greek bath" (always too small, always built in a way that you get everything wet, including the toilet seat while showering). Perhaps adding a reading lamp and more comfortable chairs at the dining table would be recommended for completeness. Shopping in Akoumia and Spili is no problem. Very good hospitality at the very beautiful beach.

Very beautiful, spacious house with lovely pool area. Very clean. Since there are only a few apartments, the complex is not crowded. About 2 km to the beach, a car is essential as the nearest larger towns, Aghia Galini, Akoumia, and Spili, are quite a distance away.

We liked the apartment. There are two semi-detached houses on the property, both very new. There is a beautiful view to the sea, a pool to cool off in the summer. The interior was modern and functional, the kitchen fully equipped, air conditioning available (which was appreciated during temperatures over 40 degrees). Unfortunately, there was a slight smell from the septic tank in the bathroom, but it was not noticeable in the sleeping/living area. Two more things you should know: 1. In summer, it can be extremely windy, especially on the south coast (the umbrellas were already broken when we arrived, the wind was so strong that you couldn't eat outside, sometimes bread and even plates were blown off the table). The landlord is not responsible for this. We always ate at the tavern about 100 meters away, which was super friendly and delicious. 5-minute drive to the beach (and there we also had to hold onto our dishes more often, it's just part of it). 2. If you are looking for mass tourism, you are in the wrong place. Apart from a few taverns and holiday homes, there is practically nothing here. The nearest minimarket (emphasis on "mini") is almost a 30-minute drive over the mountains. If you don't always want to eat in the convenient and super nice tavern, it's best to stock up in one of the few larger supermarkets in Heraklion or Chania with everything necessary (sitting in the car for three hours just for orange juice, butter, or bread is not really enjoyable). Regarding Car Rental: For those who want to explore the island, we can recommend a Jeep; we happened to get one by chance and were very happy about it in the end - it makes the potholed switchbacks with their almost vertical inclines a lot of fun. There isn’t much entertainment in the area, just the magnificent mountains, super beautiful, almost deserted beaches for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling, hardly any traffic.

Beautiful, clean, purposefully furnished house. Great view to the sea from the upper balcony. The beach is about 2km away. However, we missed reading lamps by the bed. A shower curtain would also be beneficial! The kitchen is unfortunately a bit dark since there is no window. The hood also vents directly into the room. In the lower bedroom (probably intended as a living room), there are no cabinets. Fortunately, there were enough towels and bed linen on-site - however, no change of them occurred. For my Götterfunken and me, next time the Kreta Mare 01 or 04 will suffice. They are also more comfortably furnished. Otherwise, highly recommended!
