Wir haben 5 Wohnungen gebucht, weil wir so viele waren. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön, alles ist wie beschrieben und der Pool ist sogar größer, als er auf den Fotos aussieht. Gute Sauberkeit und absolut zufriedenstellende Räume. Die Strände sind wirklich nah, es dauert 5/10 Minuten mit dem Auto, um sie zu erreichen Das einzige Problem ist, dass das Haus ein wenig isoliert ist, aber ich denke, es ist klar, wenn man bucht. Absolut zu empfehlen!

If you like individuality, you are in the right place. 5 houses, super relaxed atmosphere, and such a great location. Clean, always cold pool, nice, helpful manager on-site who is happy to provide tips, and a well-maintained, clean facility. 5 minutes by car to two great beaches, guaranteed without air mattress shops and several delicious taverns nearby. If you don't like large resorts and tourist crowds, peace and relaxation, this is the perfect place for you. Always a bit of wind that makes the heat bearable. Functional, but completely sufficient equipment in the house for a summer vacation; a few more kitchen basics would be great, but even so: anytime again.

The entire facility is beautiful from the outside. The large, very well-kept pool and the outdoor area are particularly noteworthy. Unfortunately, the maintenance and upkeep of the apartment leaves much to be desired. Compared to the exterior impression, the interior of the apartment does not fare well. The cleanliness of the rooms was not very good upon arrival and required a thorough cleaning session. The furnishing with furniture and kitchen utensils is very sparse and inadequate - especially for a longer stay (6 weeks), when one wants to cook for oneself. Although non-functional or missing items are promptly procured after complaints, this unfortunately comes from currently unoccupied apartments, where they then subsequently are missing.

The place is really nice, the posizion is not the best if you whant to visit other beaches, but ok. Maintenance is missing (the air conditioner upstairs cooled very little and both were very noisy, thermostat was broken so you had to turn the boiler on / off manually and if you forgot to turn it off ... the bathroom was floded! What about ants? Luckily we didn't eat at home ...

Very friendly welcome, everything perfect in the holiday home itself, apart from the (typical for the country) "Greek bath" (always too small, always built in a way that everything, including the toilet seat, gets wet while showering). Perhaps a reading lamp and more comfortable chairs at the dining table would be recommended for completion. Shopping in Akoumia and Spili is no problem. Very good service at the very beautiful beach.

Very nice, spacious house with a lovely pool area. Very clean. Since there are only a few apartments, the complex is not overcrowded. About 2 km to the beach, a car is essential as the nearest larger towns Aghia Galini, Akoumia, and Spili are quite a distance away.

We liked the apartment. There are two semi-detached houses on the property, both very new. There is a beautiful view to the sea, a pool to cool off in the summer. The interior was new and functional, the kitchen fully equipped, air conditioning available (which we were glad to have with temperatures sometimes over 40 degrees). Unfortunately, there was a slight smell from the septic tank coming through the shower drain in the bathroom, but it was not noticeable in the sleeping/living area. Two more things you should know: 1. In summer, the south coast can be extremely windy (the umbrellas were all broken when we arrived, the wind was so strong at times that you couldn't eat outside because the bread and even plates were blown off the table). However, the landlord can't be blamed for this. We always ate at the tavern about 100m away. 5 minute drive to the beach (where we often had to hold onto our dishes because it's just part of the experience). 2. If you're looking for mass tourism, you're in the wrong place. Apart from a few taverns and holiday homes, there is practically nothing here. The nearest minimarket (emphasis on "mini") is almost a 30-minute drive over the mountains. If you don't want to eat in the always convenient and super nice tavern, it's best to stock up in one of the few larger supermarkets in Heraklion or Chania with everything you need (sitting in the car for three hours for orange juice, butter, or bread is not really enjoyable). Regarding car rental: For those who want to explore the island, we can recommend a Jeep; we happened to get one by chance and were very happy about it afterwards - it makes navigating the hole-ridden switchback roads with their almost vertical ascents really fun. There isn't much more entertainment in the area, just the magnificent mountains, super beautiful, almost deserted beaches for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling, and very little traffic.

Beautiful location, great pool with loungers and shade. Equipment catastrophic, beds extremely hard, cheapest "plastic pillows", cabinets unusable as they strongly smell of moth powder, kitchen appliances mostly broken or dirty, no trash bags for toilet paper even though it shouldn't be flushed down. We have stayed in numerous accommodations from Paleochora to Kato Zakros, Petra Mare 2 was the worst in terms of sleep and living quality. It may be that the facility is not owner-managed. Triopetra is otherwise beautiful.

Great Location! Petra Mare House 2 has a fantastic view from the balcony of the mountains and the sea. The pool is smaller than in the photos but is sufficient for refreshing and swimming. It can be used 24/7. Also great are the sun loungers with umbrellas around it. A small beach with a good tavern is a 5-minute drive away. Otherwise, a car or rental car is a must here, preferably directly from the airport, as it is very remote - but quiet and uncrowded. Very friendly and helpful on-site assistance from Mr. Irini. We were satisfied, it was a very relaxed and restful time.

Maison de vacances (professionnelle) très chouette Très bonne localisation pour ceux qui recherchent du calme et de la tranquillité en pleine nature… A deux pas de la plage ! Vue mer depuis le jardin et piscine au top (attention juste avec un jeune enfant, pas de barrière pour y accéder). L’intérieur et la déco sont quelques peu sommaires, pas vraiment chaleureux, mais suffisants pour passer un agréable moment ! The location of the accommodation is good. We were here for the 2nd time. Basically, a nice facility, but only partially maintained. Some small things bothered us: the pool was only operational in the first week, during about 2/3 of our stay there was no water in the pool and therefore not usable. In the apartment, there were some "small things" that were disturbing, such as toilet seats not securely screwed, a Wi-Fi router in the bedroom hanging freely attached with tape, or numerous centipedes on the balcony and terrace.

Wonderful location if you seek peace and relaxation. The view of the sea is splendid. We almost always had the pool to ourselves. The living spaces and the two terraces are spacious. The kitchen is simple but adequately equipped. A large refrigerator helps to store supplies. The bathrooms are somewhat small. Since the showers are not separated, the floor gets wet when showering. However, at the usual temperatures there, it dries quickly again. A car is necessary to get to the beaches and for shopping.

The overall facility is beautiful from the outside. Particularly noteworthy is the large, very well-maintained pool and the outdoor area. Unfortunately, the maintenance of the apartment leaves something to be desired. Compared to the external impression, the interior of the apartment does not fare well. The cleanliness of the rooms upon arrival was not very good and required a thorough cleaning session. The furnishings and kitchen utensils are very basic and inadequate - especially for a longer stay (6 weeks) when you want to cook for yourself at times. Following complaints, non-functioning or missing items are promptly replaced as far as possible, but unfortunately from unoccupied apartments, leaving them missing there afterward.

A very quiet, tidy, and pleasant holiday accommodation. The landlord is always attentive and is often on-site. Three bends above the holiday resort, there is an excellent Cretan restaurant called "Filenia". Antonis and his wife serve exclusively local, mainly organic dishes.

We were at Petra Mare for the second time for 6 weeks. It was beautiful again. The furnishing of the rooms could be a bit more functional and appealing. But you get used to the fact that there are no seating options in the bedrooms. You just have to improvise. Also, the kitchen equipment with dishes, glasses, and pots is not optimal for 4 people at the end of the season. But in terms of cleanliness of the rooms and the friendliness of the landlord's son, who takes care of everything intensively, one can be very satisfied. The outdoor facilities in particular are very well maintained. Overall, highly recommended for people who are mobile and love peace.

We spent 2 very nice weeks in the dreamy area of Triopetra. The houses of Petra Mare are very well located not far from the wonderful Triopetra beach. Apartment No. 5 and 6 are in the front standalone house and are simple and well-equipped. The back 2 double houses are in a nicer location and have more protected and partially larger terraces. Nevertheless, you can also enjoy the evenings very nicely in the garden by the pool. Anyone who travels to this area should know that there can be very strong winds here at times (as in many regions of Crete). We had 5 days of storm and during that time, we really appreciated the wind- and wave-protected bay of Agios Pavlos. The manager Babis is very friendly and helpful. Thank you for the beautiful time! In case of bad weather, there would be no cozy common room in the house, as the living kitchen has no windows. Dreamy beach with great taverns. Very small, authentic grocery store nearby. The holiday home is located in a beautiful location in the small village of Triopetra on the south coast of Crete. We spent very relaxed holidays here. The landlord takes very good care of the property and small problems are solved immediately. So, if you are looking for peace and a beautiful and well-equipped house, this is the perfect place. In the area, there are 5 taverns and a mini-market. For larger shopping, you can drive to Spili in about 25 minutes. We liked it so much that we'd love to go again.

We had a great vacation with our children in Triopetra. Great coast! Just for further trips, a lot of driving until you reach the main road. The on-site manager is super nice and takes care of everything. We would go back again - our children especially for the pool and the "small bay"!

This review refers to apartment 3. Regarding cleanliness and location, there is only positive feedback to be given. Also, the design of the houses and the overall complex is very well done, with some drawbacks in terms of functionality. Both the living kitchen and the upper bedroom bathroom lack windows (a glazed entrance door would be very helpful here). The internet serves its purpose but is not always stable. It would be helpful to have a note before arrival that - as is often the case in Crete - the key is in the door upon arrival and contacting the landlord is not necessary. Nevertheless, we felt very comfortable. The location and the landscape/beaches are unique. Highly recommended are definitely - apart from Triopetra Beach - trips to Agios Pavlos/Sleepy Dragon (snorkeling in the dragon's head is a pleasure when the sea is calm; the tavern is also recommended) and the neighboring Sandy Hill Beach as well as to Amoudi Beach and Skinaria Beach. An exceptional (with a focus on food rather than service) tavern can be found in Spili: Maria & Costa.

The location is very peaceful and the houses are quite beautiful. About 1.5 km away, there is a lovely, deserted beach with pleasant taverns. Personally, I think the houses (kitchens) could be better equipped. There is a lack of kitchen utensils for cooking. The nearest market is in Splili, which is 18 km away, but if you go on excursions, you will come across many small or large markets along the way that are open until night. If you come to Petra Mare, it is very likely nobody will wait for you, so you should just look for your house on your own (one of those with keys in doors). A car is necessary there. Anyway, the place is worth visiting.

We were in House 2 of the complex at the end of June / beginning of July. The house is really great: good and relatively new equipment, enough space, fantastic sea view. The only criticism: initially we had no satellite TV reception, then almost only Arabic or Polish channels, which was somewhat disappointing during the World Cup. The very nice and helpful son of the landlord was dependent on a technician from Heraklion who did not show up... The entire property is well-maintained, the beautiful pool is regularly cleaned. We also really liked the location. The amazing, very spacious and yet not very crowded beach of Triopetra with a nice taverna and a friendly beach bar is only 1km away. Shopping can be done in Spili (about a 25-minute drive). However, it can sometimes get quite windy. The north wind Vorias blows particularly strong in the area around Plakias, which we also experienced on 2 days (including broken branches and power outage). We felt very comfortable overall, could relax wonderfully and can definitely highly recommend the facility for this purpose.

This apartment is also very suitable for a 2-month stay. The rooms and the overall complex are much larger than you would expect from the internet photos. Especially the well-equipped kitchen allows for self-catering if you don't want to go to the tavern. The support from the landlord (son) is extremely friendly and helpful. This accommodation is highly recommended for those seeking peace and quiet and travelers with a car.

We were in this super great complex from mid to late June... It did not promise too much. Everything was exactly as described in the catalog and also on the website. The large apartments are very well equipped. Sufficient space for 4 people. Only a wardrobe is missing in the lower sleeping area. But even there, we got by with a few chairs and the TV shelf. Was quickly repurposed. The pool and the entire rest of the complex are very well maintained. The manager (a very nice, polite Greek young man, unfortunately I forgot his name) is completely uncomplicated and takes care of the guests' needs affectionately. He even gives out a can of cola when you refuel at his "day job" at the gas station in Akoumia ;-) Triopetra Beach is a dream for anyone who likes large, long beaches where people don't line up like sardines in a can. On a width of more than one kilometer, very few people were frolicking. The crystal-clear water, the clean beach invite you to swim. If you then want to eat or drink, you can just drop by the tavern Apothiki at Antonis and we are always greeted very nicely. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. All in all, it was one of the most relaxed holidays we have ever had. It is definitely an address you will gladly return to. Highly recommended!!!

We really enjoyed our vacation. The property is very tastefully decorated and is situated in a beautiful location with views of the sea and at night of the Milky Way. However, especially in July, one should not underestimate the strong gusts of wind that make reading newspapers or books by the pool impossible and cause umbrellas to snap. We did get used to it after a few days though.

Very nice location, very quiet and with a beautiful view. Pleasant furnishings, simple but tasteful; we felt comfortable. The pool is a big delight for the children. If you arrive on the weekend, bring provisions for the first few days, especially for breakfast, as there is hardly anything to find on site. Otherwise, there are several taverns nearby where you can eat well and inexpensively at any time. The next beach in Triopetra is very pleasant, quiet, and not boring due to the three large rocks. There are also many beautiful small beaches to discover in the area. October is an ideal time to travel, with the water still pleasantly warm, sunny, and not too hot.

In Triopetra, a great holiday home with a pool and a great view awaited us. The house was in excellent condition and well-equipped (air conditioning, etc.) even by Greek standards. The entire process went smoothly. For those who love solitude, cicadas, and sometimes a rather fresh wind, and are not deterred by a slightly longer drive to other highlights of Crete, Triopetra and PETRA-MARE are highly recommended. My conclusion: Anytime again.

We were two and therefore had a lot of space. The house is very beautiful and you have a great view over olive trees down to the sea. Babis, the landlord, was very friendly and the key handover was smooth. We love Triopetra - the landscape, the sea, the taverns, and the village of Spili where you can shop. It's about 25 minutes away. So you need a car - without it, there's little to do here in Triopetra. However, you are far away from any mass tourism like on the north coast and can relax wonderfully. The pool is also very nice. Not huge, but big enough for a refreshing dip when the typical wind blows and it's too windy at the sea. This happens here from time to time, but it doesn't matter. Then you can go on trips to, for example, Rethymnon or go hiking. If you love the sea and seclusion in still very pleasant air and water temperatures - and appreciate Greek hospitality, this is the perfect place.
