On the south-west coast of the island, in the middle of a beautiful landscape of ancient, dense olive groves, about 5 kilometres south of the charming village of Aghios Mattaios, lies the idyllic village of Skidi, right by the sea.
The holiday home Sophia is a dreamlike beauty in a unique location, slightly elevated above Skidi beach, with the sea right on the doorstep. The well-tended garden with lawn, Mediterranean plants and flowers and shady pine trees provides the perfect setting for an unforgettable holiday by the sea. The functionally furnished holiday home was renovated and equipped in 2015. The classic, rustic-style furnishings, light-coloured stone walls and arcade arches adorn the interior walls of the Sophia holiday home. Separated by a counter, the open-plan kitchen area adjoins the living/dining room. A small hallway leads from the living room to both bedrooms and the bathroom. Direct access from the living room to the garden with several seating areas for lounging, sunbathing, dreaming, relaxing, whether sunny or shady, always with a wide view of the sea - a perfect holiday idyll. The gently sloping sandy beach offers a sweeping view of the Ionian Sea. Unforgettable sunsets, the sound of the waves, the fresh sea breeze and the blue sea all around are the lasting images of this beautiful holiday home.
From the garden plot, the concrete driveway leads over approx. 5 steps to the sandy beach directly in front of the house. You live directly on the water, and in addition to Skidi beach, which is right on the doorstep, you also have the fine sandy bay of Prassoudi with sun loungers about 150 metres away, which can be reached via Skidi beach and the shallow water.
A laundry machine is located in a small annexe at the side of the garden.

We were a family of three staying for 10 days in October 24 at the Sophia accommodation. Positive: location directly by the water, practically a private beach, sound of the sea all the way to the bedroom, very quiet location, beautiful outdoor area, stunning view with sunset included, very friendly and dedicated landlords, mosquito nets everywhere (necessary!), many German TV channels, fast WLAN. Negative: when you look closely, it wasn't really clean, very small bathroom with a very narrow shower, the rooms smell a bit musty, kitchen amenities okay.

Beautiful and quiet house, the house actually has everything you need, we felt comfortable, just a few steps to the small sandy beach, the garage was okay too, a small downside for us was the small bathroom/shower, otherwise there was nothing to complain about, we would come again.

Everything was great with us, and the hosts were very warm. We felt at home right away. The kitchen is equipped with everything one might need. The highlight was the location by the sea and the beautiful garden.

The refrigerator arrived in the evening. The TV was not operational (only after 3 days). The dishwasher did not work. One mattress had springs that could be felt. The cushioned chairs were stained. The lever on the outdoor shower was broken. The kitchen window shutter could not be secured and rattled constantly in the wind. The microwave does not turn anymore. Cleaning cloths were missing for the kitchen shelf.

The location of the house right by the sea away from any tourist hustle and bustle and the lovingly designed, beautiful, very well-kept garden are unbeatable. The house is functional, everything needed for a relaxing holiday is available. The welcome by the landlords with local specialties, wine, and fruit was very friendly. Minor issues were immediately taken care of. The narrow and bumpy access road to the house is adventurous. If you are looking for a quiet holiday in the middle of nature, this is the right place. We will come back!

The location of the house directly by the sea in a very peaceful environment is ideal for anyone who appreciates the nature of the west coast of Corfu and can do without the tourist crowds of the main holiday resorts on the island. The house is well-equipped and functional, the garden is well-maintained and beautifully planted. Efi, the landlord on site, was very helpful; we were greeted with local wine, fruit, and olive oil. The secluded location and the fantastic garden with direct views and access to the sea and the large, shade-providing trees...Amazing! Man kan i denne feriebolig, forvente en rig mulighed for en yderst behagelig og afstressende ferie i private og meget smukke omgivelser. Udsigten til havet og den friske havbrise må fremhæves. Fremhæves skal også en rigtig fin modtagelse, og efterfølgende mulighed for kontakt ved behov under ferieopholdet. Vi kommer gerne igen.

We received a friendly welcome, the house is small but lovingly furnished, the two bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning. Everything you need is available. The garden is well kept, the lawn is really as green as in the pictures. We used the seating area under the pavilion a lot - e.g. for breakfast. You can relax on the four loungers in the shade of the pine trees or in the sun. Directly in front of the driveway to the house was a small piece of beach, so that you could swim directly, then under the outdoor shower in the garden. The location is beautiful - quiet, view of the sea, behind the house a beautiful mountain with an abandoned monastery and great views. However, it is not easy to get there, the access road is very narrow, so don't rent a big car. It takes 10 minutes to reach the next main road, 15 minutes to Ag.Matthäus, 15/20 minutes to Messongi/Moraitika. From the airport to the house it takes just under an hour, to the airport a little longer, as there is always traffic jam in the direction of Corfu town. Well suited for a quiet holiday, if you want to discover the island, you have to accept longer distances.
