Pure relaxation!

We spent very relaxing days in this beautiful holiday home. The house is a wonderful starting point for longer hikes, but also for short walks in the area. The view is unique and despite the isolated location of the house, it is very easy to reach and not too lonely. Even in bad, stormy weather we were very comfortable. Mr Bub is very helpful and uncomplicated and had already heated the holiday home when we arrived. As far as the furnishings are concerned, there is nothing missing! Lovingly provided towels, made beds and a very well equipped kitchen, all this made our stay very pleasant! We are looking forward to coming back in the summer!

Great view - Great house

First impression - really great
Then you realise that really EVERYTHING has been thought of to make your stay comfortable: From the shoehorn to a plaster box and several soaps to the stars that shine above the bed at night as well as many books to read - everything very lovingly designed ! Pure Erholung

Restful tranquillity, pure nature

We spent our first family holiday here with our 5 month old baby and were completely satisfied.

The owner is incredibly nice and accommodating. The cottage was already cosily pre-heated so that the baby wouldn't get cold, as our arrival day was quite rainy

The cottage is small but well equipped with all the things you need. We immediately felt at home and very comfortable.

The view is amazing! Whether it's sunny or rainy, you can sit in front of the big window and enjoy the view forever

Hiking and walking paths lead directly past the house, which we used often and with pleasure.

All in all, we had absolutely nothing to complain about and would love to come back.

Idyllic holiday spot with charm and flair

The descriptions of the house are absolutely correct. We can confirm that and there is nothing to add to it. However, the FEELING of spending your holidays here is not so easy to convey. That should and MUST be experienced by everyone for themselves! We have been here for the third - and certainly not the last - time now, and we are always totally thrilled:
by the coziness of the house, where nothing is missing, the incomparable location in the middle of nature with a fabulous view of the valley and the Wasserkuppe opposite. A view that is different every time of day and in every type of weather, always indescribably beautiful. In short, it is a house where we feel absolutely comfortable, not least because of the loving reception and warmth of the owners and their sense of detail that characterize the charm of this holiday home.
All around, there are well-signposted hiking opportunities - for every fitness level - as well as diverse sports facilities.
360-degree panoramic views from the mountain peaks and hills into the "Land of Far Horizons" provide peace and serenity. Excursions to the surrounding area in small towns with interesting historical city centers in the tri-state area of Hesse, Thuringia, and Bavaria round off the holiday program. We are very grateful that friends pointed out this holiday idyll to us three years ago and we are happy to pass on our enthusiasm. We will definitely come back. See you soon!

Ein außergewöhnliches Ferienhaus

A helpful and personable landlord and a tastefully and practically furnished holiday home for a comfortable stay with a spacious outdoor terrace.
Quiet hillside location at the edge of the forest with a beautiful view into the valley and towards the opposite the Wasserkuppe.
Nearby are worthwhile destinations such as the adjacent ruins of Ebersburg, Bischofsheim, Gersfeld, and the famous Wasserkuppe mentioned above.
Suitable primarily for 2 adults, nature lovers in need of peace. Since the Rhön region can be known for its rough climate, one should prepare with suitable clothing but also for warming sunshine.

Fantastic holiday home

The location
Unique, very quiet location. You can't say it's in the middle of the forest, otherwise you wouldn't be able to enjoy the fantastic view, but it really feels like being in the middle of the forest
As I said, the fantastic view and the comfortable armchairs ... you completely forget to turn on the TV and before you know it you see the moon rising on the horizon :-)
we went out to the terrace and enjoyed the starry sky in the deck chairs next to the crackling and warming fire bowl..
we went home deeply relaxed and will certainly come back.

really nothing is missing!

The surroundings
Wonderful hiking trails in the forest from the front door. A few kilometres away from the Wasserkuppe. Directly below the Ebersburg. Nearby a natural lake for swimming and a natural stone wall for climbing.

Important:
very tasty game restaurant within 2-5 minutes walk... highly recommended.

Great Small Vacation Home

We (2 adults + 2 children) spent a long weekend in this great little holiday home. It is very well equipped and tastefully furnished, with everything you need, including a coffee machine! The owner welcomed us very nicely and completely uncomplicated, despite our late arrival. Thanks again for that! Our children loved the large meadow in front of the house to play and the Ebertsburg castle ruins directly behind the house! The surroundings are great and the view from the terrace of the Wasserkuppe is priceless! We can only recommend it!

Treasure

We spent 1 week in this dreamlike gem!
Very tastefully and comfortably furnished, especially with tiled stove.
Everything you need is available. All very clean and in impeccable condition.
The view from the terrace or living room window of the Wasserkuppe with the beautiful surroundings... simply dreamily beautiful!
You are completely immersed in nature and yet quickly at the supermarket or at the recommended sights all around. In a few meters, you reach the Ebersburg, a view from up there over the landscape is a must. If you are looking for something idyllic and cozy to relax or hike, this is the right place. The owner is also very friendly. We felt extremely comfortable and will definitely not be the last time there! 5-star rating from us!

Unser Lieblingshäuschen

We (2 adults and 1 child) found this wonderful house by chance on the internet because we like to spend a long weekend in the countryside, not too far from our location in Frankfurt, with our son. A perfect match for all 3! Everything is just right for us. The warmth, uncomplicated nature, and helpfulness of the landlord, the comfortable amenities and lovely furnishings, the perfect location at the edge of the forest yet close to everything one needs for daily life, and of course, the fantastic surrounding landscape. For us, staying in this cozy cottage is an absolute delight, a break and pure relaxation. We have been there now for the second time, and will be back soon. We could also easily imagine staying longer...There is plenty to do and experience, to hike and discover. And if the weather doesn't cooperate, the house is a cozy nest, warm and with a fabulous view. It's also great for doing nothing. In any case, it's our favorite vacation cottage!

Vicinity of the holiday home: Toll, die Rhön bietet wunderbare Landschaften und ist in der Umgebung des Hauses touristisch sehr angenehm erschlossen. Die Einkehrmöglichkeiten sind bestens.

free time activities: Für uns als "Wander- und Outdoorfamilie" mit kleinem Kind ist die Umgebung ein Paradies. Abwechslungsreiche Wanderwege für jeden Anspruch mit vielen Einkehrmöglichkeiten; dazu der Wald und die Burg direkt am Haus, das sind für uns schon Freizeitmöglichkeiten genug. Ein tolles Wildgehege gibt es in Gersfeld, einen idyllischen See ein paar km entfernt, und die Wasserkuppe besuchen wir auch gern.

shopping facilities: In Poppenhausen kann man sich gut versorgen, aber auch in den diversen Hofläden gibt es viel Leckeres!

Perfect "Holiday with Dog"

After a very warm welcome, we enjoyed a week in an extremely well-equipped and high-quality holiday home. Nothing was lacking. Even shampoo, soap, and body lotion were provided - more like in a nice hotel.
The electrically adjustable bed was great - and the mosquito nets ;-)

In the house, we found plenty of up-to-date informational material and hiking maps of the area, which was very helpful.

The spacious property was ideal. Well-maintained yet one would like to move around and play with the dog :-)
"Right in the middle of the forest" is what you can truly say here.
The view is incomparable, it's hard to top the sunrise over the Wasserkuppe.

And we were not far from anything, everything was easily accessible. Shopping, sights, and especially hiking.

Overall, we liked the straightforwardness of the landlords, and the friendly energy of the house made our vacation perfect! We know many vacation homes, THIS one landed in our hearts. . . . . Thanks again for that! ! ! ! :o)

Pure Erholung

We spent a week with our dog in the Rhön and planned to do a lot of hiking. However, since the weather didn't cooperate for the whole week, we also spent a lot of time in the house, which was very nice due to the very cozy and great amenities and the view of the Wasserkuppe. We can only recommend the house and will definitely come back. We are sensitive to noise and did not experience any disturbances at all. The reception by the owner was very friendly and informative (sightseeing, current events, etc.). He took a lot of time. In addition, there were extensive materials on the surrounding attractions in the house.

Vicinity of the holiday home: Wunderschöne Lage auf einem großen Grundstück am/im Wald. Direkt unterhalb der Ebersburg gelegen. Gaststätte mit guter Küche in der Nachbarschaft.

As with Heidi...

We spent our Easter holiday in the forest house, and it was a good decision! After our short journey, we found local origin and a very lovingly composed weekend house with a meadow below.

The days with our child and dog were a complete success. The dog was able to roam around the meadow near the house and had plenty of space. Our little one was entertained in the rock garden next to the Ebersburg with forest fun and climbing adventures in mossy stone slopes. The setting resembles old Czech fairy tales. The circular path is short, the small castle looks nice, but the forest is the real attraction. Those who seek spaciousness and tranquility will be thrilled. We saw a total of three cars pass by the panoramic window on four evenings : )

The house is difficult to assess in essence - and due to the immense durability of its condition/ maintenance. Dreamlike, also due to the lovingly chosen furnishings: antique corner bench, tiled stove,
many nice details, complete/high-quality furnishings, great beds with apples on the pillow. . .

The bathroom is situated with a view of the entrance and is close to the living area, yet quiet. The bathtub
at the end of the room allows for bathing with a view of the forest; the shower can also be used for steam baths. A brick
washbasin makes the bathroom additionally feel grounded. Behind that are the 1.5 sleeping rooms separated by a closet. The round second bed overlooks the hills towards Wasserkuppe; truly beautiful!

All in all, a destination for paragliders, hikers, and families. The offerings in the area are manageable and sufficient, easy to navigate. The fantastic terrace in front of the house is perfect for a relaxing week, we hardly needed the really great flat-screen TV. It is connected to the music system, which also does a good job. When cooking, foresight is possible, the kitchen is located in the entrance area and is well equipped. Thanks to the great weather, we were able to switch between the outdoor table group and the stove while cooking. Open fire was possible through the fire pot in the woodshed (!).

All this is located at the edge of the forest, with a local restaurant located directly below but far enough away. Poppenhausen and its surroundings are very worth seeing, and for further trips, a week should be possible. Otherwise, there is hardly enough time to experience the diversity of the area. It's really worth it.

We would like to thank the owner again for the effort, everything was very cozy, and we could feel comfortable immediately. . .

Dream cottage in nature

Through a random internet search, we came across this holiday home. The house is fully furnished with lovingly designed details. We felt very comfortable there. The view from the terrace or from the panoramic window of the Wasserkuppe was beautiful. Winter-friendly holiday home

In February 2009, we spent a week for two in this recommended vacation home with a lot of snow. The tasteful and cozy furnishings of the house particularly impressed us. The quiet location with a fantastic view is also worth mentioning. The tile stove provided pleasant warmth at around -10°C outside temperature. It was a lovely week. We highly recommend the house even in cold and snowy conditions.

Very nice holiday house, which leaves nothing to be desired!

We spent a romantic weekend for two with our dog in this top holiday home, where great attention was paid to details in the equipment. In addition to the beautiful view of Wasserkuppe, you can also use the garden with comfortable loungers and a grill. The house is beautifully secluded, but Poppenhausen is quickly accessible. The living room with a flat-screen TV, rocking chair, and cozy loungers is fantastic. We can only recommend this house and will definitely come back!

I spent a wonderful and romantic extended weekend with my girlfriend in the holiday home, which is equipped with a very appealing interior. Great holiday home with top equipment

We spent a long weekend as a group of four in the beautifully quiet holiday home. The equipment is consistently top-notch and leaves nothing to be desired. With a great view of the Wasserkuppe, we grilled on the magnificent terrace every day (charcoal grill and plenty of deck chairs were available). Many hiking trails start directly behind the house, and the Ebersberg ruin is only a few hundred meters away. We can only recommend this accommodation and will definitely come back!

Ein schönes Ferienhaus

We spent a long weekend on May 1st in this very well-equipped holiday home, with a 40" LCD TV, great stereo system, electric slatted frames, and good mattresses. The large round extra bed is also worth a trip. The house has a wonderful location with a magnificent view of the Wasserkuppe and the Rhön, perfect for relaxing. Everything as described in the advertisement. We will definitely go there again.
