Description
Les Chenes is a traditional Provençal house set in a large secluded garden, with a wide view of rolling green hills and the valley below. We call it "the nicest holiday house in the world".
The house is ideal both for larger families, two families with children, or two/three couples travelling together. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, on two floors with separate entrances, it is possible for everyone to enjoy some privacy and quiet.
In the garden you find large terraces with sun loungers and seating, a private pool and an outdoor shower. From 2027 we can also offer the pool to be heated to approx 28°C in the spring and autumn.
Under the oak trees in the garden you find a dining table perfect for al fresco dinner as the sun sets. On the terrace facing the valley you can find a cosy daybed, as well as another large dining table and a Weber gas barbecue, so every meal can be enjoyed outdoors if you wish.
From the entire property you have a panoramic view of the lush green valley and the surrounding hills. Still, the property feels secluded, sheltered from view of the neighbours and the street outside.
Les Chenes is on a quiet residential street just outside the village, only a short walk from the village centre where you may find the bakery for baguettes and croissants in the morning, eat at the local restaurants at night, or stock up on cheese and vegetables at the bi-weekly market.
The house has air conditioning in all bedrooms and in the living room/kitchen.
On the main floor you find the open plan kitchen / dining area with a solid oak dining table seating up to 10 people / sitting room with two comfortable sofas. This floor has two bedrooms and two bathrooms with rain showers (both completely renovated in 2024). Above the dining area there is a small loft where you may store your suitcases after unpacking. The sitting room also contains an eclectic collection of games, puzzles and books, in a variety of languages, for both kids and grown ups.
The annex on the lower floor has a separate entrance from the garden, with two bedrooms and its own bathroom, where you also find the washing machine and tumble dryer.
If you travel with a baby or small children we have various equipment available to make your stay easier; a high-chair for babies, two Stokke TrippTrapp chairs for children, a cot, a junior bed, as well as plastic cups, plates, bowls and cutlery for those prone to throwing theirs on the floor. Please let us know when booking if you require any of these.
There is ample space to park three cars on the private courtyard/driveway.

Location and surroundings of object
Bagnols-en-Foret is a typical small Provencal village with around 3000 inhabitants. A ten minute walk from the house you'll find a quaint main square with a few restaurants, bakery, a kiosk and a wine shop. A kilometre from from the house there's a Carrefour supermarket and a pharmacy. The beach is a 20 minute drive away, as is the TGV train station and the bigger towns of Saint Raphael and Frejus. Driving in the opposite direction you'll find towns like Fayence, Tourettes and Seillans. The Lac de Saint Cassien, with an array of water sports and other activities on offer is also a 20 min drive away. The entire area is ideal for hiking, with plenty of trails, with or without wine tasting stops at the many local vinyards. The Terre Blanche golf course is 9 kilometres away.

On the main floor there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms
- Bedroom 1 has a double bed and a junior bed suitable for children up to about 10 years.
- Bedroom 2 has a double bed and space for a cot (we provide a cot upon request - please let us know when booking). This bedroom has French doors facing the terrace/pool area.
The annex on the lower floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom with washing machine and tumble dryer
- Bedroom 3 has a double bed
- Bedroom 4 has two single beds
Scandinavian style down pillows, bed linen, towels and pool/beach-towels are included in the rental price.
In spring and autumn we also provide scandinavian down duvets.
If you are planning a "workation" , we can provide small desks in bedrooms 1 and 2. There is wifi throughout the house, however video meetings are not recommended in bedroom 1 owing to the distance from the wifi router.

Comfortable, charming, and easy to enjoy
We were two families with four children in total, and this house made for an absolutely fantastic holiday. It's incredibly charming and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay: spacious, clean, well-equipped, and full of character. While it's clearly perfect for families, it would be just as wonderful for a couples' getaway or a even a quiet writing retreat. The hosts were also very easy to reach and communicate with.
The village itself is really cosy, and it was easy to reach both the beaches and the larger towns nearby (we rented a car at Nice airport). That said, we often found ourselves tempted to just stay in: relaxing by the pool and enjoying the view was hard to beat. We'd happily come back!

Amazing get away!
An absolutely fantastic place – we had a wonderful time! ??☀️?
We had a truly fantastic stay in this lovely house in the South of France! We felt at home here from the very first moment.
The house has everything you could wish for, and the kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped—perfect for those of us who enjoy cooking good meals together. We also made great use of the barbecue and spent many long, cozy evenings around the dining table, both indoors and out.
The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are great, and there is air conditioning in every bedroom—which was absolutely perfect on hot summer days. The house boasts excellent outdoor areas while also offering plenty of space inside. The location was perhaps one of the things we loved most. It is a short distance to many of the most beautiful spots along the coast, charming local towns, and—not least—an incredible number of wonderful vineyards. It served as the perfect base for exploring the area, while also being a delightful place to return to after a day out. We really couldn't have asked for a better place for our holiday. We enjoyed every moment from start to finish, and we certainly hope to have the chance to come back! ❤️

Love it.
I had a wonderful week there. It was during a heatwave so the pool was the place to be. The kitchen and the barbecue outside made dining in perfect. And the wine we got from wineries around in the area. With bedrooms enough for us all, nobody had to listen to my snoring. That made us all well rested.

Wonderful provencal paradise
We stayed here as a family in September and had such lovely days. The house is beautifully laid-back chic, the pool perfect size, and the terrace with the wonderful view invites you for an afternoon pastis. The town with bakery and well-assorted supermarket is within walking distance, and we took turns doing the fresh croissant run in the mornings. The beach and lots of charming villages and great restaurants are reachable within a short drive. Would recommend to friends!

Luckily, I have excellent people on site and ready to help out my guests with whatever you might need. The house is my pride and joy and a place to be creative. I love the relaxed feeling of the village, the many high quality restaurants in the area and the fact that the place works just as well for a super relaxing vacation with a book by the pool, as an activity packed one.
