The small property "Casa do Forno" in Abegoa, is a small solitary island of bliss. It is located on the northeastern slope of Marvão, in the middle of the Serra de São Mamede nature reserve in the Alto Alentejo and is less than 8 km from the Spanish border. Amidst exciting light natural spectacles with infinite views, breathtaking views deep into the interior of Portugal and Spain, surrounded by barely tamed nature. Surrounded by hiking trails and smuggler's paths, it offers excellent hiking opportunities amidst exciting and rustic nature. The deserted roads in this region make for some of the best driving experiences in Europe for bicycles, motorcycles, classic cars or other drivable vehicles.
This small, finely appointed guesthouse has been lovingly rebuilt from the old bakehouse into a fully self-contained small house. It has a full kitchen (with small dishwasher), bathroom with shower, living room with sofa bed (2 persons), bedroom and terrace, which is accessible from both rooms. With a good glass of red wine just enjoy the fantastic view and relax. In the kitchen (former bakehouse) is also the quaint, fully functional bread oven, which allows us to always prepare delicious oven dishes.

Before coming to Portugal, I grew up in Germany and studied communication design in Brazil. I always had a great passion for cars and photography. i worked as a professional photographer for 23 years and also fell in love with Marvão on my first visit. Not only because of the spectacular natural light but also because of the magical landscapes and beautiful roads just waiting to be discovered with a classic car or motorcycle. I moved to Marvão in 2009 to create an association with my ideas to promote this region, for example, with classic car tours and other tourist activities to enjoy this part of Portugal. I invite everyone to come and live magical experiences in this natural reserve on the Spanish border.
