Location and surroundings of object
This natural stone farmhouse is set in a peaceful position amidst typical landscape of fields, olive groves, vineyards and woods 2 km from the village. It’s an ideal starting point for walk’s lovers. Beautiful views across the land. Private entrance. The house is divided into two apartments; the other one is only occasionally used. A small house, where sometimes a German man lives, stays in front. Postal office, bank, grocer’s shop and pizzeria restaurants are in the village. The nearest seaside resorts with sand beaches Follonica and Castiglione della Pescaia are between 35 + 45 km away, a lake 25 km and the river Farma 15 km away. Sassofortino is a lovely village circa 35 km north of Grosseto, nearby the panoramic Monte Sassoforte. In the village there are several shops, a couple of pizzeria/restaurants, a tennis court and many walking paths. It´s worth visiting the ruins of the old castle in Sassoforte. Sassofortino was founded by the survivors of the destruction of Rocca di Sassoforte by the Sienese in 1330. Inside the hamlet there are several remarkable doorways sculptured in rhyolite, with interesting decorations and figurative motifs. Sassoforte castle which was first cited in 1076 belonged to the Counts Aldobrandeschi, who sold it to the city of Siena for 5500 gold florins; the latter, fearing the strong position of the stronghold, ordered the town walls and the dungeons to be destroyed. The remains of the fortification occupy the entire circumference of the rhyolitic platform at the summit of Sassoforte, and bear witness to the noteworthy dimension and high quality of the structure of the battlements. There are numerous archaelogical sites to be visited in the area, for example at Roselle, Populonia and Vetulonia, and at Lago dell’Accesa (“Accesa Lake”) there is a recently established Etruscan Archaeological Park, with remains of tombs from the 9th century onwards, and of 6th century dwellings. The Cistercian Abbey at San Galgano and the adjacent chapel of Montesiepi with the sword in the rock are about one hour’s travel from Massa Marittima. The Art cities of Siena, Volterra and San Gimignano are only a half-day excursion away.

Casa Trebbi beautiful cottage with a large plot, great view, and fantastic pool
Mr. Schultze has always responded very quickly and competently to all email inquiries from our side. We felt very well taken care of.
Mr. Trebbi is a great host who is always helpful and always available to his guests. 5 stars here as well.
Regarding the house: the pool is simply awesome. It is cleaned daily by Mr. Trebbi (well, actually by his robot ????). The house is even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures on the internet. Everything is very clean, well-maintained, and tastefully decorated! The only thing that could be improved is the kitchen equipment, new pots and knives could be purchased.
The outdoor area with various seating options is just great. If you are looking for relaxation and "slowing down", this is the place to be. However, if you want to visit places like Siena and more, you will have to drive over 30 km of winding roads, which can be annoying. Since we have been to Tuscany several times before and have already seen many villages and cities, we did not have the ambition to drive around a lot from the beginning.
The only real downside was the barking of the dogs! There is a dog owner nearby with many dogs. They were sometimes impossible to ignore, even at night. If this person could be persuaded to get a better handle on his dogs and not leave them outside at night at least, we would give 5 stars.
All in all, we (2 adults with daughter and friend (16 + 17 years)) found the stay great and can easily imagine coming here again.

Casa Trebbi Beautiful house in the nature
The 6 of us spent our holidays in this house. It is quietly situated in the nature. The pool is large and is cleaned daily. There are enough sunbeds and seats all over the property. There was always a breeze in the evening, so we didn't miss the air conditioning. If we had any questions, Mr Trebbi was always on hand, even if we ended up talking via a translation app. He got us good olive oil, as well as good wine. Sassofortino is a good starting point for trips inland and to the sea. There was also enough equipment in the kitchen. Only the entrance to the house is a bit adventurous. When we drove out, we didn't always make it without putting the car on the ground. Nevertheless, we would definitely spend our holidays in the Trebbi house again.

We were positively surprised when the landlord Enrico led us to this little paradise in the midst of Maremma. Casa Trebbi is a beautiful rustic house with extensive grounds and a large, well-maintained pool. The whole complex presents itself much better than described on the website. The furnishings correspond to the usual standard. The couch in the living room could be a bit more comfortable for bad weather days, as the satellite TV is also located there. The driveway to the house should be renovated a bit. Otherwise everything is clean, spacious, and top-notch. The house is located very close to Sassofortino (about 1500m), a small village with good infrastructure. There are two grocery stores, the small Alimentari right at the entrance of the village is very friendly and offers very good and also regional products, Claudio the owner speaks perfect German. There is a pizzeria and the restaurant Momo is highly recommended, you should not be fooled by its outer appearance. Two bars and a small DM with tobacco. Attractive holiday destinations and the sea can be reached quickly by car. Enrico is a very helpful, friendly landlord and is immediately available when needed. Thanks to him, we were able to spend a relaxing Tuscan vacation, far away from mass tourism. We can only recommend the property and will definitely come back.

Tuscany vacation 2019 at Casa Trebbi
We were, with my wife and my 13-year-old daughter, three guests of the Trebbi family in August 2019.
The house is located very quietly on the outskirts of Sassofortino. It meets the usual requirements with its facilities.
Although the outside temperatures were at 32°C daily, it cooled down pleasantly at night so that we did not miss air conditioning.
The property is spacious and exceptionally well maintained.
The outdoor pool deserves a rating of "excellent". The equipment regarding parasol and sun loungers leaves nothing to be desired.
Mr. Trebbi is easy to reach and always very helpful and friendly.
The only criticism is the lack of internet access, which Mr. Trebbi attributed to a defective amplifier.
This is naturally a disappointment for a 13-year-old.
Of course, a holiday in Tuscany without internet doesn't have to be bad.
Our holiday in 2019 was very nice and we can highly recommend the house "Casa Trebbi".

A beautiful house Casa Trebbi on a large plot off the beaten path
Casa Trebbi is a well-maintained gem in the midst of beautiful scenery, situated somewhat higher so it's not as hot in the evenings as in the plain. The pool is worthy of a villa, large and clean. The pictures accurately represent everything. Kitchen equipment is completely sufficient (1 sharp cooking knife could still be added). The house is well suited for a 2+2 combination, as it has 2 bathrooms and 2 terraces. The property is secluded, with a slightly higher road nearby. The entrance to Sassofortino is about 1500m from the property, and there are no other houses in close proximity (the nearest is about 400m away). The owner, Enrico, is a very affable host, and you can definitely rely on his recommendations (e.g., oil, wine). Highly recommended is also the nearby (approximately 10 km/20 min drive) Lago dell'Accesa. We will definitely come back.
