The seaside resort of Baveno is located on the south-west side of Lake Maggiore in Piedmont and has always been valued for its mild climate. Many buildings in the old town were built in the 10th century. However, Baveno became famous for its pink granite. The famous granite is still quarried in the region to this day and it is advisable to explore the city center and the districts on foot, as this is the best way to discover the many architectural details made from the pink granite.
The pier, from which excursions to the Borromean Islands are possible, is just 500 m away.

we were allowed to stay longer on the day of departure because the train only left at 3:15 p.m. (receptionist Paolo is very competent and tried hard) and brilliant shuttle service from Stresa to Baveno with a large limousine (Mercedes) at a fair price, everything was right there,
