and the Grevelingermeer (500 m away)
do fantastic water sports. By bike you can reach both the North Sea and the lively town of Renesse via cycle paths. Passing Renesse, the route leads through the dunes on beautiful mussel paths to Burgh-Haamstede and on through the Oosterscheldekering, the nature reserve Kwade Hoek near Ouddorp, the small towns of Brouwershaven, Veere and Zierikzee.
Middelburg and Goes are also beautiful day destinations by car.

Our holiday home is a little different from other holiday homes.
In our smart holiday home, in addition to the usual operation via switches, it is also possible to control everything by voice command. You can test video calling free of charge or enjoy the superb sound of the Sonos Dolby surround system.
Keyless entry: you enter our house using a PIN code and everyone is independent, as anyone you trust with your PIN code can use it to enter the house. -With your departure, this automatically expires-
Simply set the radiator thermostat to your personal comfort temperature by voice command, without having to do it on the thermostat itself, or conveniently control the awning from the lounger or garden chair.

Stylish, modern & right on the beach! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A true gem!
The combination of smart home technology and high-quality artworks creates a super modern yet cozy atmosphere. We greatly enjoyed the direct location by the dyke of the Grevelingen Sea and the marina in the best weather. In about 10 minutes, you can walk along the dyke by the sea, with its huge sandy beach.
Especially great: You can dine excellently and well-maintained in the area.
Everything you need for a perfect vacation is really there. Absolutely recommended for everyone who appreciates comfort and style!
We will definitely come back to this little paradise.

Fein Smart

Best sun weather and pleasant temperatures, along with the great vacation home, were the guarantees for a very nice stay in this house.
The original artworks that now adorn the walls are a great idea from the owners.
As usual, there was nothing to complain about regarding the furnishings and cleanliness.
Again and again, adjustments are made to the house's furnishings, so it keeps getting better. A highlight is always a visit to Eethuis Schouwen, with its friendly staff and excellent food. Highly recommended!
We are already looking forward to seeing you again at the Smart holiday home!

Vacation, as it should be!

At first, I thought I would cancel after reading the last review.
Good thing I (we) decided otherwise and went as planned.
An extremely friendly reception, with an excellent introduction to the technology of the house.
An absolutely quiet location, close to the village center. You can reach the local establishments in about 5 minutes on foot. The tip from Mr. Meier about the Eethuis-Schouwen is highly recommended. -Thank you for that! -
Great hikes along the dike, from the Grevelingenmeer to the North Sea beach.
Thanks also for the tips on places to eat.
In this house, vacation is what it should be. Relaxation with all the comfort and good mattresses on which you wake up well-rested, without back pain.
We will definitely come back again.

Holiday home with some deficiencies

We were five in the holiday house in August. I have never experienced such bad mattresses. That is really very unfortunate. The loft bed had no safety at the top, so our daughter could not sleep in it. After using the shower, the whole bathroom was under water, reaching into the bedroom. Furthermore, I was woken up every morning at 6 a.m. by the Gardena system. However, what annoyed me the most in hindsight was the billing by the landlord. We had to pay for a toilet seat that was already old and defective upon our arrival. Additionally, he charged us 30 euros for porcelain that we definitely did not break.
He was not cooperative at all.
Very unfortunate.

Es tut uns leid, dass Ihnen die Matratzen, die wir vor 1,5 Jahren neu gekauft haben und allen bisher besten Schlaf bereitet haben, solche Probleme bereitet haben.
Da wir zwei Duschbäder haben, wäre das Problem mit dem Wasser umgehbar gewesen, zudem liegt das Bad tiefer als das Schlafzimmer, sodaß ein Wassereintritt nicht möglich ist.
Toilettenbrillen werden zumeist durch Kinder, aufgrund der Absenkdämpfung abgebrochen, aber das ist ein Problem, dass uns bekannt ist und wir im Jahr ca. 4-5 Toilettenbrillen austauschen.
Wir lieben einen grünen und blühenden Garten, wie auch die meisten unserer Gäste. Leider bedingt dies auch regelmäßiges Gießen der Pflanzen, sodass wir um unsere Gäste nicht durch einen beauftragten Gärtner zu stören, eine automatische Bewässerung von Gardena verbaut haben, die den optimalen Gießzeitpunkt selbst bestimmt.
Es tut uns außerordendlich leid, dass wir Ihren Ansprüchen nicht gerecht werden konnten.

Top

Very nice reception from the host. Everything you need is available in the house and even more.
The coffee flat rate is great and the coffee machine makes good coffee. "Alexa" took some getting used to, and the kids had a bit too much fun with her. We definitely laughed a lot.

The supermarket is within walking distance, and in the village, you can go out to eat deliciously if you don't feel like cooking (or just want to have a drink). At the North Sea beach (less than 10 minutes by car), you can park for free and the beach is great.

Also 'smart' is 'apart'

Scharendijke, Grevelingenlaan - proven location, holiday homes on larger plots, thus an individual living feeling, no ghetto atmosphere compared to newer facilities, especially due to the mix with permanent residents. Good starting point for all activities or also for none and just doing nothing - ala Loriot - 'just want to sit here'. One feels comfortable and the good mood is promoted by the 'overall package'.

A perfect place to relax

We have been to this great house several times, which is so quiet and hidden behind tall hedges that it sometimes seems almost too quiet.
We were also able to use the new bathroom, which has increased the comfort even more.
An absolute gain, as you can now go directly from the bedroom to the bathroom. -Super-
The service was perfect as always.
Long walks on the beach and even in the best sunny weather were the best conditions for a great vacation. We are already looking forward to the next time.

Winter vacation

We had a wonderful stay in this charming holiday home in Scharendijke.
The location is simply perfect – just a short walk from the beach and surrounded by picturesque nature.
The house itself is lovingly furnished and offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation.
The bright and spacious rooms create a pleasant atmosphere, and the well-equipped kitchen invites you to cook and enjoy together. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
We greatly appreciated the tranquility and the opportunity to explore nature.

Restful family vacation

We felt very comfortable at Mr. Meier and Mrs. Katzenbach's house. There was nothing missing in the house and everything was very clean. A supermarket was easily accessible on foot, and the nearby marina is worth a walk. The nearest larger town, Renesse, is only a 9-minute drive away by car. All in all, it was a relaxing and beautiful vacation for us (3 adults, 3 children).

As in the last few years, we also spent wonderful 3 weeks this year in the Smart House. It was, as always, all TOP, from the personal welcome by Mr. Meier to the perfect condition of the apartment and the house, inside and outside. The weather in Scharendijke is almost always good. And if not, you can also spend time on the sheltered terrace. It is worth mentioning that this year mattresses were replaced in the large bedroom. The guest room is to follow. This is particularly beneficial for older or people with back problems. Additionally, you can also discuss possible minor improvements with the owner. We could write a novel and keep raving. But anyone who has vacationed there will confirm our opinion. And if possible, we will book again next year. And after the vacation, it's time for the next vacation. We already miss the sea. Tolles Ferienhaus

The Smart holiday home lives up to its name. Many things are controlled via Alexa.
In the house, you can find everything you need for a stay.
The keyless access is also great, making everyone independent of keys.
The house is perfectly located close to restaurants and the beach. The bike rental directly behind the house is also very good.
One must especially highlight the cleanliness, which we did not experience in other houses. Again, top class here: A hand sanitizer dispenser was installed next to the entrance door.
Also, the friendly communication with the landlords was perfect.

We will gladly come back again!

We were looking forward to going to the holiday home and were all very excited. But in this situation with the coronavirus, we simply don't dare. After a phone call with Mr. Meier, everything was no problem. He fully understood our concerns and refunded our complete payments on the same day. Many heartfelt thanks for this superb behavior during this time. When the situation improves again, we will definitely book again. At our friends' place, the landlord did not behave so well. They ended up bearing a large part of the costs.

Despite the bad weather, a very nice vacation.

My partner and I were aware that the weather in this season may not always be good, so we decided on a comfortable house. This house did not disappoint us. Cosy and warm, with a great sound system, it made up for the weather outside. The tasteful decor with stylish porcelain and good cutlery is rarely found like this. After long beach walks in storm and rain, we were already looking forward to the fireplace, which was the icing on the cake.
The house is honestly described and even spoiled us with some technical details.
It was brilliant that the house doesn't need a key. No more problems with returning the key that we almost forgot.
It must be even more beautiful here when the weather is better.
We are considering trying it again one more time.

Schöne Tage verlebt

We had booked the house from the owners for official use in October.
After initial cleanliness problems, a quick response was made and everything was in order.
The house has a very good location because you can quickly reach the local amenities on foot. The local supermarket is very well stocked and offers everything you need. It seems to have just been newly built.
The technology in the house is great, as you can control almost everything by voice command if you wish. For our team, the large screen was important. This way, not everyone had to huddle around the small laptop. I especially want to highlight the access via PIN. Everyone had their own "key," which was incredibly relaxing.
The outside lighting was also very good. Especially important in autumn/winter.
We will definitely come back.

Beautiful vacation week

In June 2022, we stayed for a week at the Smart Holiday Home. It was our first family vacation for four, and it couldn't have been better.

The holiday home is located very close to the harbor, and restaurants and bike rentals are also easily reachable on foot. Despite its central location, it is still peaceful.

We didn't notice anything lacking in the holiday home. The facilities are very good. In the kitchen, there is not only enough crockery and cutlery, but also a coffee machine (coffee capsules are provided by the landlord). The contact with the landlord has been uncomplicated and very friendly.

We liked the equipment with Alexa and Nuki. We use both at home as well.

We have been on holiday in Zeeland several times, but this holiday home surpasses the others! We will definitely come back to Zeeland and would be very happy to stay in the Smart holiday home again.
