Location and surroundings of object
The house is located on the border of the Dordogne and Lot departments , between Sarlat and Cahors. The region, the Periogord, is famous for its culinary specialities (fois gras, truffles, walnuts and wine). There are therefore many restaurants offering excellent food.
Every Tuesday evening in July and August, our village hosts a producers' market, a social event where you can buy local products and eat them on the spot (barbecue available), highly recommended!
In terms of culture and sports, there are many possibilities: famous caves (Lascaux), castles (Castelnaud, Beynac) and medieval towns (Sarlat, Domme, Rocamadour, St. Cirq Lapopie), markets, etc. etc. In terms of sports, there is plenty to do: hiking (signposted walks directly from the house, viewing tower), cycling, canoeing, golf, horse riding.
For summer cooling, the house has a small swimming pool and in the area there are several swimming possibilities (Dordogne river, also for canoeing, the Céou (14 degrees all year round!), and for the little ones a swimming lake with the necessary facilities.
The garden offers a lot of privacy and is generous, not fenced.
If you want to explore the Dordogne a bit, 1 week is really not enough!

Anyone who likes peace and quiet will find it very nice.
The house is beautiful, but very isolated. At night it is so dark and you can see a lot of stars. It is absolutely quiet. We all felt very comfortable. There is no TV - an absolute blessing, it encourages game nights.
We used the fireplace every evening. Unfortunately, the weather during the stay was really autumnal with a lot of rain, so we couldn't go for walks as much. But there are so many sights that boredom could not arise. The advantage in autumn is that we could buy freshly harvested walnuts and very delicious walnut oil.

A place of peace and relaxation
Thank you very much for the wonderful time in the midst of forests in a very beautiful house in an enchanted environment.
Also, a big thank you to Francien for the hospitality and tips for excursions, etc.

Restful time
We, a couple with a small Münsterländer, spent a wonderful and relaxing time in the beautiful cottage. We explored the hiking trails right outside the door, visited the castles and a few cities on the Dordogne. We especially liked Castelnaud because our dog could cool off in the water while we watched the kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddlers. We found a paradise for dogs. Thank you for the delicious walnut oil. Heinz, Brunhilde & Gandhi

Hospitality in the Périgord region.
We were able to experience wonderful holidays in the Périgord with our two dogs. The beautiful house with its cozy furnishings in the midst of the wonderful landscape is perfect for relaxation and for cozy holidays with four-legged friends. The beautiful forests and river valleys invite you to hike and do water sports. The medieval towns and castles with their colorful markets give an insight into past times.
The hospitality of Francien and Gerrit cannot be surpassed. During a tour of the Oerlemans family's walnut plantations, our dog Bruno even found summer truffles under the old oaks.
We thank you very much for the very relaxing holidays and will come again.

Magnifique gîte
Very nice restoration of a traditional barn, done by the owners themselves, with all the modern equipment we needed: fully equipped kitchen, wifi, good beds, good shower. The stove was very useful, as we were early in the season (second half of April) and it was cold! Fortunately, Francien and Gerrit provided us with everything we needed to make good fires every night and extra duvets! The hosts are very attentive and easy to reach, while remaining discreet and busy on their organic walnut farm (where you can taste the production).
The outdoor area is very pleasant, our 2 children (under 2 years old) enjoyed the trampoline a lot, and everything went well in the cottage with two young children.
We had very good evenings by the fire and also pleasant lunches on the terrace when the sun was out. Again, congratulations for this magnificent restoration and perfect welcome!

Paradise of peace, nature and dogs
We were looking for peace and found it in Nadalie!
The tastefully furnished and well-equipped holiday home is highly recommended for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet. We, a family of 3 with two dogs, felt extremely comfortable. From the house, beautiful hiking trails lead through the forests of the Périgord, past walnut plantations and countless stone walls layered over centuries. It is not far to the remarkable gardens in Carsac-Aillac, Marqueyssac, Eyrignac and Carlux. The other sights of the Périgord are also within easy reach of Bouzic. A canoe or kayak trip on the Dordogne is not to be missed (even with dogs)
We would like to thank our kind hosts Francien and Gerrit Oerlemans for the friendly welcome (late in the evening when we arrived), the helpful tips for places and restaurants, the guided tour through the organically managed walnut plantation, the fresh eggs and last but not least the generous toleration of our "possessive" dogs (they found a paradise).

Pole of tranquillity
We had wonderful days of relaxation in the lovingly restored holiday home of the Oerlemans family. A haven of peace in the middle of the Dordogne countryside.
The equipment of the house is very good, we would especially like to emphasise the sparkling rain shower and the comfortable beds. From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the countryside. Directly from the house, many hiking trails lead into fields and forests, alternating through picturesque little villages. Thereby you gain a little insight into the life of the locals.
We would like to thank Gerrit and Francien Oerleman's kindness, which made us feel at home.
Kind regards Herman and Andrea

Beautiful holiday home!
Beautiful holiday home with a great veranda, large garden, and great facilities. We - 2 adults, 2 children - felt very comfortable. The nice landlords had tips for excursions, hikes, restaurants, markets, bathing lake,... The baker came twice a week with baguettes. Croissants could be ordered by phone. Wonderful for relaxing!

Super!
Beautiful property with plenty of space and fully equipped. Far away from mass tourism, you can enjoy the rural flair and the warm friendliness of the people in the surrounding villages undisturbed. The highlights of the Pergord are easily accessible from Bouzic. The lush nature for wonderful walks, hikes or bike rides is available right outside the door. We thank Mrs Oerleman for an unforgettable holiday experience (and the fresh eggs)!

The beautifully renovated house, with great attention to detail, offers tranquility but also the opportunity to explore the surroundings on foot or by bike. Additionally, this place is a good starting point for many attractions.

Nadalie: heerlijk!
