Description
The "Landstreicher" hostel, centrally yet quietly located by the rushing brook, offers you 5 holiday flats in various sizes with a total of 16 beds as well as a common room. The Malerweg trail leads directly past the house. The town centre, railway station, Elbe River, ferry and steamer landing stage are all within walking distance.
The house is especially suitable for groups. You can have meals together in the common room and sit by the fireplace in the evening. Families can rent two flats on one floor.
On the 1st and 2nd floor there is a small and a medium flat for 2 and 2 + 2 persons respectively, in the attic there is the large flat for 2 + 2 persons. The medium flat on the 1st floor has a terrace, the small flat on the 1st floor has a patio, the medium flat on the 2nd floor and the attic flat each have a fireplace. On the ground floor is the common room, next to it there is a dishwasher for all to use and a storage room for bicycles, prams or the like.

Location and surroundings of object
The town of Königstein is located at the foot of the Königstein Fortress, directly on the Elbe River. The most beautiful excursion destinations of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains are easy to reach from here. Our holiday home is located in the immediate vicinity of the town centre and is nevertheless in a quiet location. The Malerweg leads directly past the house. The railway station, bus station, ferry, steamer landing stage and shopping facilities are all within easy walking distance.
You can start many hikes directly at the house, for example to the Königstein Fortress, to the Lilienstein, to the Pfaffenstein. Other destinations are easily accessible by S-Bahn, such as the Hintere Sächsische Schweiz, the Felsenbühne and Bastei in Rathen, also the state capital Dresden.
The location is also well suited for cyclists: The Elbe cycle path leads through Königstein, there are possibilities to rent bicycles in the village, the National Park has a well-developed network of cycle paths, and your bikes can be stored in our storage room.
You will find a children's playground a few hundred metres away in the town centre next to the church, and another one on the Elbe near the steamer landing stage.
The recreational possibilities are almost unlimited. First and foremost, there are a variety of hikes for every level of difficulty. Mountaineers will be drawn to the cliffs. The Saxon Steamship Company sails from Königstein in both directions with its historic paddle steamers. In summer, the Felsenbühne Rathen offers a varied theatre programme for young and old.
There are various railway worlds, indoor and outdoor. You can hire boats in Königstein and paddle down the Elbe. There is also an amusement park and a climbing garden in the town. In Bad Schandau, the Toskana-Therme invites you to swim, as do several outdoor pools in the area. A visit to the baroque city of Dresden is easy from Königstein by S-Bahn. You can cycle on the Elbe cycle path or on various cycle routes in the national park
The 118 kilometres of the Malerweg (Painters' Path) open up the most beautiful and spectacular parts of Saxon Switzerland for hikers. Its stages can also be completed from a fixed accommodation. They are easily accessible by public transport.

The bed in the attic is 1.60 m wide, all others as well as the sofa beds are 1.40 m wide.

Great accommodation for lots of family
Many thanks for the great accommodation for our large family for Men's Day.
Uncomplicated procedure, great price/performance, beautiful house for large families or friends with small flats for retreats and with a large lounge, which we used intensively.
Good location for all kinds of excursions around Saxon Switzerland.

Highly recommended for hiking holidays and get-togethers with friends.
The holiday apartment was simple, but very lovingly and practically furnished, we felt very comfortable here. Contact with the landlord in advance was very uncomplicated, and we received great personal hiking tips on site. Detailed information material in the house. Best location for direct access to the hiking trails of Saxon Switzerland. On the weekend, we met with friends at the Landstreicher - as there is a special, very cozy group room, the accommodation is ideal for this. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back!
