Great holiday for four in a beautiful accommodation.

We can only join the other reviews: The holiday apartment is really great and the landlords are very nice and helpful. Our boys (10 and 12) were absolutely thrilled with the pool and the neighbor's cat that came to visit regularly. Other highlights: a beautiful balcony with a great view of the green hills, wonderful starry sky, freshly picked figs from the fig tree, just a few minutes' walk to the bakery and the restaurant in the village, loungers and sun umbrellas by the pool, a gas grill right next to the kitchen, a second fridge for drinks, two bathrooms, enough space and plenty of storage for luggage, supermarket nearby... We took trips to Nice, Antibes, Monaco, Grasse, to the beautiful villages in the hinterland, and to Verdon. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the sea (although it is very crowded there in August), but you can also swim very well in Lac de Saint Cassien. Basically, a car is necessary and one should not be afraid of winding roads. Otherwise, we would unreservedly recommend the holiday apartment and would vacation there again at any time.

Stunning views and the best stay

We had an amazing holiday with Joanna and Oliver. As a family of 4 (two young children) the apartment and facilities were fantastic and had everything we needed for a relaxed week in the sun! The set up was unrivalled - it was like the whole place was our own, which meant 24/7 access to the pool and lounge area, which our children loved. Our hosts were so lovely and could not do enough for us, offering to help with booking trips and great suggestions on things to do. They remain very quietly in the background but it’s great to know they are there. The village is a lovely short stroll away and has everything you need for your stay, including some lovely restaurants and a bakery. We rented a car and did some lovely excursions- the house is perfectly located and only 20-25 minutes to the lovely sandy beaches. We would thoroughly recommend this holiday to everyone - couples or families alike - you will have the most incredible time.

Idyllic and really nice!

The accommodation and the view exactly match the pictures! Friendly and helpful landlords who virtually don't appear due to their home office but are always available if you need something or have a question. Thus, you have the really beautiful pool and the lounging area all to yourself. The little village is just a few minutes' walk away, where you can get baguettes and croissants in the morning or go out to eat in the evening. A larger grocery store is within a 15-minute walk.
One sits very nicely on the flower-adorned terrace, looking either out into the expanse of the forest or at the beautiful pool.
We had a wonderful stay — just as we had hoped!

Wonderful summer holidays with the children

*Unfortunately a bit late, but everyday life gets to you faster than you'd like*
We, 2 adults and 2 children, were in the small mountain village of Bagnols-en-Foret for two weeks in June/July 2024. The selection through vacation home rental and the later contact with Johanna and Oliver was absolutely trouble-free and very friendly. Arrived by car. Were lovingly welcomed by Johanna and Oliver. Oliver showed us the property, the apartment, and explained everything clearly to us in English. The apartment is fully equipped and well-suited for 4 people. We lacked nothing. The daily stay on the large balcony, which faces south and offers a wonderful view of the mountains and the pool, which was available to us 24/7, was particularly nice. For any questions, we could turn to Oliver and Johanna. The large bedroom with a shower is wonderful, and the built-in wardrobes offer plenty of storage space. The children had a room with 2 single beds and also sufficient space. The living, dining, and kitchen areas also provide plenty of room. Absolutely great, and for the dreamlike weather, especially at night, the permanently installed insect screens on the bedroom windows were essential. We simply enjoyed the tranquility and the view and used the well-maintained pool daily. To the sea and the wonderful beaches, it takes about 20-25 minutes down the mountain, navigating through heavy traffic and several roundabouts, you'll be rewarded here as well. Excursions to Nice, Cannes, and St. Tropez are possible within 60-80 minutes. For St. Tropez, the waterway is recommended with the Green Boots (Google) that run every 10 minutes from St. Maxime to St. Tropez. All in all, a dream vacation in a special location with super nice owners. Dear Johanna, dear Oliver, it was wonderful and we will definitely come back.

Good location for many excursions; perfect pool; peace and relaxation, very nice landlords.

We searched for a beautiful holiday apartment with a terrace and pool - and found it with Joana and Olivier in Bangols en foret!
The apartment is bright and modernly furnished. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living area with an open kitchen. The practical amenities were advantageous, especially the gas grill, which we enjoyed using for cooking.
Since a pool is very important for our daughter, this was a selection criterion for us. We used it several times a day. The holiday villa is relatively large and very well-maintained. Children have fun here, and adults can enjoy life on the loungers.
The interaction with the landlords was very pleasant. We had good conversations about this and that; and when one's French was exhausted, one could perfectly converse with Joana, who is English.
In the village, you can pick up baguettes and croissants in the morning or quickly have a petit café. The three restaurants on the main street are good to visit for dinner. But the entire area naturally offers a lot in terms of cuisine. A larger supermarket can be reached in 10 minutes by car; but we also find all shopping options (from the weekly market to the mega-supermarket) along the routes to our excursions. There is also a small market in Bagnols. The beaches (e.g., Saint Ayguls) are also easily reachable by car and are beautiful. The travel time at the beginning of June is recommended as it is not yet overcrowded.
The countryside also offers countless opportunities; for those who don't know what to do in Provence...
We can highly recommend this accommodation! The apartment is beautiful, very clean, practically furnished, good beds, a side room with a washing machine, a second refrigerator, and the possibility to hang laundry. Above all, the price-performance ratio was also convincing for this holiday apartment. The evenings on the terrace are fondly remembered!

Balcony, pool, and the beautiful hinterland of the Côte d'Azur.

The apartment is very suitable for anyone who wants to avoid the hustle and bustle, but doesn't want to miss the sea from time to time (15 minutes by car; before or after Fréjus, a drive through beautiful scenery). The apartment scores in three ways:

1. The large covered BALCONY: It became our favorite spot. From here, you have a wonderful view of the wide landscape (mountains, valleys, some houses of the village). It is a cozy place to read, drink rosé, and have meals. In the summer, one will surely appreciate the shade under which they sit; in May, we occasionally needed a jacket when the wind blew.

2. The large pool is very beautifully integrated into the whole complex; it is always very well maintained, with beautiful bushes and perennials blooming at the sides (especially rosemary), and one can indeed have a feeling of privacy while swimming.

3. The village of Bagnols-en-forêt is charming, situated in a very beautiful environment, has a bakery and some cafés (or restaurants), and everything is reachable within a 5-minute walk. You can find really good restaurants in the neighboring town of Fayence. The location of Bagnols proves to be a very convenient starting point for trips to various interesting destinations in the mountainous hinterland of the Côte d'Azur, and nearby there are also enticing hiking trails through the wild landscape. Joana and Olivier are very friendly, helpful, discreet, and do everything to provide their guests with a pleasant time. We plan to come back.

Relaxed and rejuvenating vacation

We had a nice holiday week in this accommodation and can only agree with the reviews here. Everything was as described here. The hosts Johanna and Olivier are super friendly and always helpful. The equipment of the apartment corresponds to the description, there are two refrigerators and a freezer. The pool is super clean and well maintained. The restaurants in the village, which are only a few minutes' walk away, are highly recommended. We especially enjoyed the beautiful starry sky from the balcony in the evenings, which was incredibly beautiful.
We would absolutely recommend this accommodation and would love to come back.

Super accommodation - absolutely recommendable!

We had two great weeks of vacation with our two children (13 and 16 years old) in Joanna and Olivier's holiday apartment. The location is perfect for exploring the Côte d'Azur and the hinterland. The nearest coastal town, Fréjus, is 20 minutes away and is worth visiting in the evening for dinner or to stroll along the promenade and visit the market. Saint Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, and the Verdun Gorge can all be easily reached by car. But even the restaurants in the beautiful medieval village of Bagnols-en-Forêt itself can be reached on foot in a few minutes. Supermarket, bakery, doctor, pharmacy, gas station - everything is nearby. The house itself is located in a very quiet environment. The apartment is equipped with everything you need, even pool towels were available, and the second large refrigerator in the entrance area was of course very useful for cold drinks, ice, etc. The highlight of the apartment is definitely the view from the balcony. We will miss that! At the large pool, there are four loungers and two sun umbrellas available! The garden is very nicely landscaped by the owners. Joanna and Olivier are very nice, always available for questions, but otherwise keep to themselves, so you almost feel like you're living alone in the house - really great hosts! All in all, we can highly recommend the accommodation and would like to thank Joanna and Olivier for the truly wonderful time in their house! Thank you and Merci beaucoup!

Relaxing vacation in the hinterland of the Cote d'Azur

We had two very nice weeks of vacation in this holiday accommodation and we can fully agree with the previous reviews. The big plus of this apartment for us was the covered balcony with a wonderful panoramic view and of course the pool. The close proximity of the village with bakeries, restaurants, supermarkets and pharmacies is also advantageous.

Great summer vacation in a very relaxing environment / absolutely nothing to complain about

In August 2022, we enjoyed this wonderful accommodation in southern France together with our two children (12 and 15 years old). The hosts and landlords Joanna and Olivier are very warm-hearted and friendly.

We really enjoyed the tranquility there and were delighted to be able to have every meal on the covered terrace with an incredibly beautiful view of the pool and the forested mountains. The fantastic pool was completely at our disposal and the four sunbeds and umbrellas further enhanced the comfort factor. The apartment really has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It was spacious and very brightly furnished. Kitchen with fridge, gas stove, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine (Senseo pads), Weber gas grill, additional fridge, freezer, and its own washing machine. The children had their own small bedroom with two single beds, and we had a double bed in a separate bedroom (including a private shower and sink). Storage space was absolutely sufficient, and the beds were all made up fresh upon arrival (towels were also provided). The main bathroom with a toilet, sink, and a second shower was used by the children. Living-dining area with a table for 4 people, a sofa (pull-out), a small TV, DVD player, etc. Our car and Joanna and Olivier's car could be comfortably and easily parked in the driveway of the property. We truly enjoyed our stay here and can highly recommend this accommodation to everyone. Especially if you prefer not to stay directly in the loud, crowded, and very hot tourist hotspots right on the coast. Joanna and Olivier are great hosts who are very good at staying in the background but are always available directly with words and deeds for any questions or suggestions.

Unique / Pure relaxation!

We were four (2 adults + 2 children 8/10 years old) in this wonderful accommodation.
The hosts are super friendly. If you have questions, you will be very well advised regarding excursions and the region. Otherwise, it feels like you are alone on site. Especially the pool is almost never used by the owners.
The apartment has everything you need. Well-equipped kitchen with refrigerator, gas stove, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine (Senseo pads), freezer (in a room next to the apartment entrance door), as well as a Weber gas grill in front of the entrance door.
The living-dining area includes a table for 4 people, a couch + table with hidden games, a small television, DVD player, and a small stereo system with a CD player. The two bedrooms have two single beds in one room and a double bed with a separate shower and sink in the other. There are plenty of storage areas for clothes.

The bathroom has a larger sink, toilet, and shower.

Overall, all beds were made and bedding, as well as towels and pool towels, were provided.

The balcony, with an incredibly beautiful view of the wooded mountains, has a table for 4 people. In the room next to the entrance door, there is a freezer, a washing machine, a dryer, as well as brooms, dustpan, and a clothes horse.

There is enough space on the driveway for the owner's car and our own.
We had a wonderful time and would love to come back. It was truly indescribably great, so we can absolutely recommend this accommodation.

Wonderful!

We really loved the holiday apartment! Joanna and Olivier are very warm and accommodating, and we felt completely comfortable with them. We could have our own space, but they were always ready for a little chat. They responded promptly and at any time to all our inquiries. Their recommendations for activities in the region were perfect. Not to mention the figs from their garden... :)
The apartment itself is also fantastic. Especially by the pool and on the balcony overlooking the valley, you can spend wonderful hours and summer evenings. The facilities are top-notch - everything you need for a relaxing holiday is really there. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped (e.g., there are plenty of plates, so you don't have to wash them constantly ;)). Bagnoles-en-foret is a quaint little village that we really liked. The small "center" is sweet, and you can get good baguette and excellent lunch/dinner at the bistro. Bagnoles is somewhat off the beaten path, meaning you should be prepared for longer car rides for activities, but we really enjoyed the peace away from the Provencal tourist hustle and bustle. We can only recommend Clos d'Azur all around and truly had one of the best vacations we've ever had here.

A great holiday in a small paradise!

We had a perfect holiday here! The very kind landlords welcomed us warmly and were always available as contacts. We felt very comfortable in the perfectly equipped holiday apartment. Here you have everything you need for a relaxing and restful holiday. The outdoor area and pool are very clean and well-maintained. From the large terrace, you have a fantastic view of the green hills of Bagnols en Forêt. The beautiful beach of Fréjus is only a few minutes' drive away. We can highly recommend this holiday apartment and will definitely come back, thank you!

Great holiday with a dream accommodation in a relaxed environment.

For the third time in a row, we spent our summer vacation at Joanna and Olivier's. The apartment is modern and well equipped (with its own gas grill!). The outdoor area with pool and sun loungers is very clean and well maintained. From the balcony, you have a beautiful view of the wooded region. In Bagnols-en-Forêt, you can find everything to enjoy a relaxing vacation. We always feel very welcome at Le Clos d'Azur and have already booked our fourth vacation for next year. :-)

Pool and balcony delight!Don't miss!

This is a 1st class gite!
Everything is spotlessly clean and looks brand new, with all you need for a relaxing, comfortable holiday.
Jo and Olivier are very friendly and helpful and committed to making sure you have a great time and have everything you need!
The balcony has sensational views across the valley and it is wonderful to eat and have a drink there in the shade at any time of day.
The pool is all you could hope for - relaxing, cooling and bordered by fragrant and colourful plants and shrubs such as lavender and oleander attracting butterflies.
The village is a 7-8 minute walk away and has bars, boulangeries and shops.
The supermarket is 15 minutes walk or a short car drive.
Buses go to Frejus and Fayence 3-4 times a day or a drive to the beach is around 35 minutes.
This is a great opportunity to experience Provence.
