Location and surroundings of object
France, Provence, is located 50 km north-east of Avignon, in inland. Sault is the lavender capital of Provence and lies south from the Mont Ventoux. The two cottages lie at foothills of Sault on a terraced 3500 sqm large property. Sault-en-Provence The small mountain town with 1,100 inhabitants, is located on the southern slopes of Mont Ventoux, about 80 km northeast of Avignon. The position on the edge of the plateau of Albionauf 750 m above sea level is typical of the villages of this area. Protected from the strong north wind "Mistral" is the town whose history stretches back 800 years already, by the powerful appearance of the Mont Ventoux, whose summit region is completely bare and treeless.

We warmly welcome you to our property "La Calamo". For us it is more than just a holiday home, for us it is like a second home. We travel to Sault, the lavender capital of Provence, as often as time allows. There, on the outskirts of Sault, we have our property with the houses "La Calamo" and "Calamino". We have furnished the flats in the typical style of Provence so that we and our guests feel at home. We are always happy to hear from our guests: "It's so beautiful here, I never want to leave". The two houses are built of natural stone and give a pleasant "coolness" in summer. The garden invites you to relax with its tranquillity and the beautiful view of the Sault valley. In spring, the poppies, snapdragons, thyme, lavender and many more blossom there. Occasionally you can even find wild orchids on our property. In summer, the acacia, cedar, cherry and oak trees provide a pleasant "shady spot". We like to use these spots for reading or just "lazing" under the tree to take in the sounds of nature with our senses. Those who prefer to spend time in the sun can also do so on the ample meadow area on our 3500 square metre property. The pool always offers a pleasant cooling on those hot days. But "La Calamo" also offers its charms in autumn and winter. During the day, the large garden invites you to take a little walk. We have already been able to persuade many people to take a longer walk in our garden by looking for our little cave. At lunchtime we often go to the terrace to have lunch. In the evening, the cosy fireplace in "La Calamo" is inviting. Playing petanque on the court of the oak front garden is a "must" at any time of the year. We prepare the delicious dishes with their spices in our kitchens, which we have equipped so that nothing should be lacking. We buy the ingredients for the dishes in the centre of Sault, about 2 minutes comfortable walking distance. There you will find a baker, butcher, supermarket, post office, bank and much more. Every Wednesday Sault invites you to a typical Provençal market. The name "La Calamo" comes from the Provençal of Calaume and means the silence, the tranquillity.

Oasis of well-being in a dreamlike location!
For our motorbike holiday in September, we booked the lower holiday flat for just under 2 weeks and were absolutely thrilled:
The flat: lovingly furnished and very well equipped
(Only WLAN is not available here. Thanks to the abolition of roaming charges, however, this was not a problem, as the reception (D1 and D2 network) was good almost throughout)
The terrace: spacious and sheltered from the wind, so that you could sit outside comfortably for a long time despite the cool evenings.
The property: spacious and enclosed. Simply ideal for us, as we could not only park our motorbikes safely, but there was also enough space for car and trailer
The location: excellent, as it was on the outskirts of the village and yet only a few steps away from the town. On top of that, it was the perfect starting point for beautiful motorbike tours! (By the way, there are three petrol stations in the village: the cheapest is the one next to the big supermarket, which is also open after closing time and on Sundays and accepts EC card payments)
Conclusion: As we were on the road during the day, we unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to chill out by the pool, but we did enjoy the great view and the fantastic sunsets every evening. All in all, it was an absolutely successful holiday!
