It is a private holiday home that is fully furnished. Behind the house, with a view over the garden to the bay of Algajola, there is a large terrace (approx. 40 m²); in front of the house there is a second, smaller and covered terrace, both are paved with natural stone. From the living room (29 m²) with large patio door, as well as from the kitchen and bedroom, you can access the large terrace. Both on the two terraces and in the garden there is sufficient garden furniture and loungers available. The entire house is equipped with tiled floors. The house has air conditioning (air conditioning units in the bedrooms and living room). Additionally, there are ceiling fans in both bedrooms.
Wi-Fi is available and in the living room a television with numerous German and international channels can be used.

The holiday home is located a little outside the village of Algajola (approx. 800m to the village center) on the San Damiano peninsula, which is built up with villas and private houses. A small marina and a small sandy beach are within walking distance. It is about 800 meters to the village of Algajola.
The house is situated 40 m above the sea. Due to the hillside location of the large property, there is a beautiful view of the sea, the Balagne coast, and the mountains. In clear weather, Cap Corse (the "finger" of Corsica) is clearly visible. The garden near the house is designed in a Mediterranean and park-like style. In the lower area, the garden is mainly arranged in a natural way with native trees (pines, downy oaks, etc.), structured by stone steps and seating areas.
Algajola is a particularly picturesque place with a Genoese fortress, formerly the seat of the governor of the Balagne. This very Corsican coastal town is characterized by narrow alleys and squares with lots of atmosphere, restaurants, and shopping opportunities. Behind Algajola begins the approximately 2 km long sandy beach with white sand. Here there is a wide range of tourist offers, such as a diving school, boat rental, and beach bars.
From Algajola you can quickly reach other towns and villages of the Balagne. Calvi is approx. 10 km away and known for its impressive citadel, it is also worth visiting the markets, the marina with promenade (cafés), and various shopping opportunities. There is a ferry terminal and the region’s airport.
Ile Rousse is 8 km away; with ferry terminal, promenade, good restaurants, shopping opportunities, and a particularly beautiful marketplace. In the hinterland of the Balagne lie several worth-seeing mountain villages (Sant’Antonino, Corbara), which have largely preserved their original charm.

Very beautiful holiday home
We were allowed to spend four weeks in June in the beautifully located house in the small suburb of Algajola. For dogs, the fenced, spacious garden on the slope is an Eldorado. The holiday home itself dates from the 80s and has been discreetly renovated. Since the property is also used by the owner, it is fully equipped (except for the toaster). Very pleasant on hot summer nights is the new, quietly operating air conditioning. 4 rooms are oriented towards the sea, allowing one to look at the beautiful bay of Algajola. Watching the sunrise over the sea from the bedroom in the early morning is surely an unforgettable experience. However, the highlight for us was the large terrace, where we could have breakfast with a sea view in the morning and look over the water until late in the evening… when we were not out and about in the area. During Pentecost, there was already more activity on the island and thus also on the nearby coastal road. We did not use the coastal train that passes by the property. You can walk to the picturesque old town of Algajola in about 20 minutes, where there is a bakery and various restaurants. We had a good meal at the Pizzeria Le Chariot. For special occasions, the somewhat pricier La Rotta (at the very end of the bay) is recommended. However, we enjoyed the terrace the most. We found the ingredients in the slightly overpriced supermarket in Aregno or in the very well-stocked E. Leclerc on the outskirts of L'Île-Rousse. There are plenty of beautiful and clean beaches in the immediate vicinity, some of which are also reachable on foot or by bike. We particularly remember the picturesque mountain villages of Balagne. Of course, a stroll through Calvi or L'Île-Rousse was a must. Conclusion: We had a wonderful time at the Barsch family's house, which we can definitely recommend. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Barsch for the very pleasant contact.

Spring in Balagne
We, 2 adults with a dachshund, spent 2 very nice and relaxing weeks in this perfect vacation home for us. The wide view over the sea, the amazing sunrises, the beautiful terraced succulent and cactus garden, the ideal location for excursions and explorations of Balagne, the very good amenities of the house, whether the kitchen or seating options inside and outside the house, the good mattresses—all of this we can only confirm and recommend further. Algajola, 1 km away, is a charming little place with the necessary tourist infrastructure and a beautiful beach. The small Spar no longer exists, but 2 km away, you can find a large Utile supermarket on the T30 to meet all your needs. The plague of the rock in Punta Spanu - absolutely worth it - is reachable in 14 minutes, the beach of Ostriconi, the Route des Artisans through the authentic mountain villages, especially Speloncato, the Fangotal with great pools, the ruins of the Village d'Occi, the Forêt de Bonifatu are some of the very beautiful excursion destinations.
The contact with the owner, Mr. Barsch, was uncomplicated, extraordinarily friendly, and always helpful.
We look forward to coming back!

Perfect time for Corsica: May to September.
The house is located on a slope and has a truly fantastic view from the large top terrace (there are several levels in this beautiful garden on the steeply sloping property towards the sea). In the very large 80s-style house, you can stay comfortably if the weather is not good. The small narrow-gauge railway passes by below every 1 (2?) hours during the day (we were mostly out during the day), to the delight of our dog, who saw a reason to defend us :-). Dogs are not only welcome in the house but also in the restaurants and at the beach in early June. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Algajola, and outside the season, you can also drive with parking spaces not being an issue (by the way, at the house, you can park your car on the property in a parking space in front of the garage). There is a highly recommended bakery (breakfast there every morning), a very nice small Spar, and a sufficient number of restaurants, including a beach bar. The beach is a dream, and walking all the way to the north and beyond is beautiful (almost completely empty in early June). Communication with the (German) owner was extremely nice - booking, key handover, necessary information, etc. ... all smooth and reliable.

Feeling at home on vacation with a dream landscape
The house is beautifully situated on a hill overlooking the sea, with a view from the terrace (and the bedroom) towards the beach of Algajola and the port of San Damiano. The sunrises are beautiful. We immediately felt at home because the house has everything you need, plenty of space, storage options, and hooks for towels. There are many seating areas in front of the house, in the garden, and on the large terrace. Grilling here and eating with this view is fantastic. Algajola with its great bakery, a small Spar supermarket, 2 ice cream parlors, and a few pretty shops can be reached in about 10 minutes on foot, and a little further on is the beach - one of the most beautiful in Balagne for us.
But the house is also a good starting point for trips to Asco, Fango, Restonice Valley, the mountain villages and beaches of Balagne, the ghost village of Occi, and much more. The owner quickly responds to questions, is always friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our vacation and didn't want to leave...
