The holiday home, a non-smoking flat, is in a quiet location in the southern outskirts of Potsdam, a few kilometres from Lake Seddin. There is also a golf country club there. The beautiful forest and lake landscape of Potsdam and the surrounding area invites you to take long bike tours and walks. Many restaurants along the way invite you to rest and linger.
The grounds of the 2004 Federal Garden Show in Potsdam are only about 20 km from the flat and are embedded in the Lenné fields. A charming and unique cultural landscape awaits you. Potsdam is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its architectural beauty as a synthesis of the arts.

Langerwisch was first mentioned in a document in 1285. The name goes back to the Wische, a meadow rich in peat, which was formed from a lake and its sediments left behind after the Ice Age. The scenic beauty of the long meadows is enhanced by the elevations surrounding them, the Eichberg near Saarmund and the Galgenberg. A magnificent view of the village centre of Neu-Langerwisch can be had from the vineyard, which can be reached from the road to Wilhelmshorst. Historically, the district grew together from the villages of Alt-Langerwisch and Neu-Langerwisch, separated by the Mittelgraben. Alt-Langerwisch was an estate of the Prussian King Frederick II, who had a manor house built here in 1779. The two remaining shepherd's houses also date from the 18th century. The landmark of the district is the Paltrock windmill (1879) built near the Galgenberg. Since 1990, an exemplary local renewal has been carried out within the framework of a support programme. A visible sign in the district of Langerwisch is the conversion of a four-sided courtyard in the Straße der Einheit into an attractive district centre with a kindergarten, meeting rooms and offices. in 1999, one of Germany's largest wholesale flower markets opened in Langerwisch. Flowers and plants of all kinds are grown on the neighbouring Langerwisch rose estate. The horticultural efforts have been rewarded with medals at various national garden shows.
