This is the perfect alternative for travelers who are tired of worn-out, musty vacation apartments in 1970s style. The house is a great combination of modern design with the highest comfort and carefully coordinated historical details...even the chamber pot under the bed is not missing here!!!!
If you are looking for something special and are willing to pay a little more for it, this is the right place for you. We felt very comfortable!

Vicinity of the holiday home: zentral und dennoch ruhig, sehr gut fanden wir den Parkplatz am Haus (im Sommer bestimmt ein guter Vorteil in der Innenstadt) und die kurzen Strecken zum Hafen und in schöne Restaurants

free time activities: herrliche Wanderwege, die zu jeder Jahreszeit erforscht werden können. Im Sommer werden auch Schleifahrten angeboten, im Frühjahr zieht der Hering in die Schlei, dann kann man hier hervorragend angeln. Wir sind große Fahrradfreaks!

Cozy cottage near the Schlei

If you are looking for a special holiday, this is the right place for you. Rustic and gnarled, this charming holiday home is located on the banks of the Ellenberg Schlei in Kappeln. We were particularly impressed by the tasteful decor - a mixture of historical and modern elements. It offers WiFi, an iPod docking station, a cordless telephone, and antiques that are partly 200 years old. Loving details such as chamber pots, sewing machine, linen press, and a rococo-style bathroom make the stay truly special. As we traveled in winter, we particularly enjoyed the cozy stove, by the way, firewood is available! It was so cozy to come into this cottage, chilled from the walk on the beach, and warm up again by the stove with tea and cookies! We will definitely come back and can highly recommend the accommodation!

Dream vacation!

We really enjoyed our vacation here in Rikate! The cozy and well-maintained furnishings invite you to relaxed evenings on the sofa with a glass of wine. Everything you could wish for is really available. We also very much enjoyed the nice surroundings because it's not far to the Schlei, so you can either take a short evening walk along the Schlei or walk to Kappeln. A highly recommendable house where you simply have to feel comfortable immediately!

Ideal Location!

The location was ideal for us. Short distances on foot and quickly by car to the beach. Since we already knew Kappeln and the surrounding area, we had fixed destinations. We quickly felt very comfortable in the house. It is very lovingly and thoughtfully furnished. We had a very nice vacation here! A few more large cups would have been nice.

Vacation in the Rikate

We particularly liked that no car is needed; everything is within walking distance. The historical ambiance in the house, as well as the "green" surroundings. The tranquility and the "special" room climate and the tasteful furnishings in all rooms. The stove should be equipped with an induction cooktop (saves a lot of energy). In the shower, we would wish for a small basket for the shower gel. A topper for the bed would be nice. The front door sticks, and there was poor reception for some TV channels. I felt very comfortable, except for construction work from 09. 10. - 13. 10. 2025, directly on the street in front of the house (starting at 6:30 AM).

Our vacation

The house has a nostalgic charm, and we particularly liked the overall impression of the house. The kitchen is well equipped, the garden is well maintained, and there is a cozy atmosphere. We also liked the reading corner and the central location. The shower and the toilet should definitely be refurbished. Additionally, we recommend pleated blinds for the front door windows, like in the bathroom.

The house is very tastefully furnished, cozy, and suitable for its age. We felt very comfortable here and also had a great rest. The equipment, e.g., the kitchen, is up-to-date, and everything needed is available. We have no suggestions for improvement. The charm and character of the house should be preserved. The ambiance convinced us.

The Rikate is a relaxing holiday home where one can feel comfortable and recover well. We enjoyed a week at the Schlei and, from the Rikate, well-rested and starting the day off right, explored the beautiful landscape around Kappeln. It was a lovely time!

Due to the very cold March days this year, the wonderful wood stove was worth gold! Great was the central and yet quiet location. We found the loving and respectful restoration/renovation and furnishing of this beautiful gem in Kappeln beautiful. Thank you for wonderful, relaxing days in your wonderful house!

The Rikate in Kappeln is very cozy and perfect for a change of scenery. The WLAN works perfectly (for work), the surroundings are lovely - great for walks and exploring by car, the bed is wonderful. In short, there's nothing to complain about at all and many reasons to come back again.

Cozy cottage in stunning landscape

The Rikate is a very beautiful, old house. Inside, it is furnished very cozily, yet still equipped with all necessary technical devices. We enjoyed the loungers in the garden and of course also the beach chair at Weidefelder Strand. It was a bit disappointing that we did not get to personally meet anyone from Designer Tours except for the cleaning staff on the day of departure. Furthermore, the seating and tables in front and next to the house are unfortunately not suitable for consuming larger meals there. However, these are certainly complaints of the highest order, overall we really liked it here and would book the Rikate again at any time and highly recommend it. Two culinary tips for those interested in the end: In Kappeln on Arnisser Straße, there is "La Case Creole," the only restaurant serving Mauritian cuisine in all of Germany; and in Sieseby on the Schlei, about 10 km away, there is "Alt Sieseby."

The equipment is very cozy. You immediately feel at home. Super good internet, also Smart TV. Perfect. Very good kitchen equipment. A sweet little garden including furniture.... The most important thing for us: we could bring our dog completely relaxed. Thank you very much.

Perfekt

Just perfect for us! We could spend a great week there with our dog! Extended and relaxed walks on the beach and later a cozy evening in an atmosphere that invites you to dream. Everything one could desire was available, and we had the opportunity to bring our bikes along thanks to the sheltered storage. So we were able to go on a great bike tour and see a lot of this region, and in the evening, we enjoyed the wine that was kindly given to us by the DESIGNER TOURS staff as a welcome gift.

We really liked the beautiful appearance and layout of the Rikate. A beautifully maintained garden, without insight into the private atmosphere, provided us with a wonderful time. Our dog was also allowed. A very quiet environment for nice breaks. The center is quickly reached with a short walk.
