If you are looking to escape the demands and pressures of your daily routine for some time and you crave for some peace and quiet to re-fuel your body and soul, you will find that our cosy holiday cottage is the ideal retreat for you.
It goes without saying that your children are most welcome, too and they will benefit from their stay as much as you will. Our cottage is situated in a quite area at the edge of town, but still close enough to the town centre to go and explore it by foot or on your bikes.
After your excursions, our terrace and spacious garden invites you to put up your feet an relax. On the ground floor, you will find a cosy living room, with separate dining area. Our fully equipped kitchen leaves nothing to be desired. Satelite TV, a washing machine and a microwave are only some of the commodities our cottage has to offer, of couse with no extra charge to you. Upstairs, you will find a double and a twin bedroom. If required a cot can be provided.

A cheek to give such a false assessment
Dear Mrs Höltken
We were horrified to see what a terrible and unfair review was given. We have been staying with you for 6 years in a row and can say that there was no smell, no spider webs and no flies in the house! Everything was as we are used to in a TOP condition! Clean and well maintained (the house as well as the garden!) We are appalled at the unfair evaluation that happened to them! We can recommend everyone to come and see this beautiful house for themselves and get an idea of what it is like! By the way: If you go to the countryside, you should expect flies and spiders! If you want a posh accommodation, which is germ-free and where you expect folded towels with chocolate and a bathrobe on the bed, you should go to a 5-star hotel and not bother our beautiful Vissel! And to the dogs I would like to say: If you tear dogs, you should expect barking, but if someone has no idea about nature in the countryside, then he also has no idea about dogs! We are ashamed of ourselves because of such a rating! The many lovely details on the walls of the house represent taste and love for the house! And if you are not able to wash one to three plates with your hands, but need a dishwasher, you should take a butler with you, who will do it! The house is, we assure all who read this, in an absolutely clean condition, there are all the things you need in it and the beautiful garden, which is also decorated with many lovely details, invites you to relax, unwind and recover. We thank you, dear Mrs. Höltken, that we are allowed to use the house for us every year and we urge you to ignore such a cheeky and unfair evaluation! General assessment
We contacted the manager (an elderly lady), who then showed us around the house.
She had difficulties explaining the function of the individual radiators.
After she had removed the living room radiator and noticed the fly graveyard, the feather duster was quickly at hand. Likewise, cleaning was also done behind the coutsch at the window.
The dishwasher listed here as well as the microwave did not exist (also not listed in the tenancy agreement).
The 45 degree stairs to the upper floor were unacceptable. Construction and furnishing standard of the late 50s, walls full of odds and ends (dust catchers), damp and musty smell in the house and cupboards, which we took home with us.
Spiders and their webs all over the house, aggressive dog barking all day (twice the dogs jumped at the closed glass door, the dark curtain at the door should be extended with a thin curtain (privacy screen), fly screens were missing, so windows had to remain closed, bathroom should be urgently renovated, especially tile joints.
The garden was very well laid out.
We will not come again!!!!!

After speaking with the caretaker again, the situation regarding the dog bite appeared differently. Since my granddaughter told her that "it's okay," she assumed it was just a scratch. Nevertheless, such things should not happen!

First of all, thank you very much for the lovely bottle of wine as a welcome gift! That is very nice! We have spent a wonderful holiday here with our grandchildren. Since we do not have high demands, the furnishings are okay! I would say: it has "grown into" this little house! Everything is lovingly selected and arranged! There are plenty of books for all tastes, a selection of DVDs, many beautiful board and card games, as well as some puzzles! . . . . and the garden is fantastic! Very well maintained, a real little paradise! The contact with the Höltken family was also nice. Mr. Höltken, for example, informed us in advance that he had provided a grill for his guests and when we told him that one of the garden chairs was broken, two new ones were there two days later! Unfortunately, my granddaughter was bitten by one of the two caretaker dogs on the second day. Mrs. Köhler downplayed it, saying it was just a scratch from the claw, but my granddaughter told me later that it was a bite, which was visible. I actually wanted to take her to the doctor, but she didn't want to. She didn't want to cause any trouble for the dog. She has seen enough of what happens with "aggressive dogs" and she also knows that the owner is always responsible for training! After this "attack," Mrs. Köhler offered us to hang our residual waste and waste paper on the fence instead of taking it to the bin.

Vicinity of the holiday home: Das Ferienhaus liegt am Stadtrand von Visselhövede in einer sehr ruhigen Einfamilienhaussiedlung! Man ist schnell auf der Soltauer Strasse und auf der B71.
free time activities: In Visselhövede gibt es ein Hallenbad, einen Naturbadesee mit kleinem Sandstrand, Grillplätzen und einem wunderschönen Spielplatz. Je nach Alter der Kinder kann man die verschiedenen großen Freizeitparks schnell erreichen und auch sonst gibt es viele interessante Orte zu entdecken! Zum Beispiel das verrückte Haus, das Wolfcenter oder auch das Panzermuseum. Im Wohnzimmer finden Sie einen Stadtplan / Umgebungskarte von Visselhövede und jede Menge Flyer und teilweise Freikarten für die Freizeitparks und Sehenswürdigkeiten der Umgebung.
shopping facilities: Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es hier ausreichend. Zum Brötchen holen war ich zu Fuß 30 Minuten unterwegs(hin und zurück).
