Description
The holiday home is a 200-year-old Umgebindehaus, a listed building. This type of construction was typical of farmhouses in this region (and in neighbouring Poland and the Czech Republic). It was extensively renovated in 2006 with great attention to detail and now combines the historical ambience with today's comfort. The flats are furnished to a high standard, with great emphasis on natural materials such as wooden floors and furniture. In particular, the log parlour on the ground floor has been left in its original, cosy form and, with its tiled stove, enhances the homely effect, especially in winter. The original half-timbering made of loam with wooden beams is also evident in the living room of holiday flat 2 (upper floor)
In each flat there is a bedroom with a double bed and additional sleeping facilities. In the ground floor flat the couch in the bedroom can be folded out into a double bed, in the upper floor flat there is an additional bunk bed. In the living rooms, the sofas can also be folded out into a double bed, with a continuous lying surface. Thus, two families can spend their holiday together and still enjoy their privacy in the respective flats. Further information on the individual flats can be found here under 17071 and 17074.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home is centrally located in the Zittau Mountains in the spa town of Oybin (Hain district), at the foot of the Hochwald forest. Hain is located approx. 1.5 km above Oybin on the border to the Czech Republic, which runs approx. 400 m above the house. A meadow and forest landscape, which is under landscape protection, borders the house. You can start your hikes directly in front of the house, and the cross-country ski trail also passes by here. The location is quiet - especially at night - as the Jonsdorfer Straße is not a main road but only runs parallel to the border to the village of Jonsdorf. There is a bus stop next to the house, the bus connects the communities with Zittau. In addition, the "Gebirgs-Express" (mountain express) runs in the high season, taking you directly to the desired "peaks" with the restaurants (Töpferbaude, Hochwaldbaude, Nonnenfelsen, etc.) or bringing you back home from these excursion locations. This means you can spend a car-free holiday. The cycling and hiking trails in the Czech Republic are also well marked and there are good places to stop for refreshments.

It always depends on the viewer, but for us it was a great time, despite Corona. We didn't miss anything except for spices. It is a tastefully furnished and well-kept house at the foot of the Hochwaldbaude. The photos of the interior don't quite correspond to the truth, it is even more beautiful than depicted. The landlords and the caretaker were also very friendly. Endless hiking trails, it was super nice for us and we can only recommend it.

Dream house
Beautifully and quietly located in the district of Lückendorf/Oybin, directly at the bus stop. Very pretty house, rustic and cosy furnishings to feel good at first sight. Extensively equipped kitchen. Very stylish bathroom with bathtub and shower. Use of fireplace possible. Many small practical details, which contribute to the feel-good character, e.g. enough storage space in the rooms as well as plenty of hanging facilities, also around the fireplace (especially practical after a tobogganing/skiing trip). Shed with sledges available. Toboggan slope just across the road. Very nice, accommodating man who does the key handover/cleaning.
All around a real dream holiday.... We would love to come back.
