simply ingenious
This holiday flat is a dream! It is not only furnished in a versatile way, but also very lovingly. We often experience that landlords store things they no longer want in their holiday flats in a motley fashion. When I told our agents here about this, they said it was unthinkable for them. It should be as cosy and practical in their holiday flat as it is in their private flat. From the balcony you have a beautiful view of nature with fields and wooded hills. The house itself is surrounded by a very well-kept and lovingly designed garden. At the parking space directly at the house there is a grille that prevents martens from climbing into the engine compartment and damaging things.
The location of the flat is also very convenient because the small town of Kemmern is only 8 km away from Bamberg. It is very easy to drive to the outskirts of the town by car and park there for free all day in a park-and-ride car park and take the bus to the town centre for free. The location is also great for excursions in the surrounding area. Motorway access right at the front of town, but because the flat is on the western edge of town, you can hardly hear it. Very pleasant is also the dam in front of the front door, which runs once around the place, so even people who are not so good on foot can walk comfortably on the level. In the village (5 min walk from the flat) there is a restaurant with home-style cooking - very reasonably priced and with its own slaughterhouse - and a very nice beer garden. There is also a bakery, cash machines of Sparkassen and Volksbanken, a pharmacy and two hairdressers. In the two neighbouring villages (approx. 5 km) there are large shopping centres with discounters.

Very pleasant stay
+ very spacious + very high quality and tasteful furnishings + large furnished balcony + absolutely quiet location + nice landlords + parking spaces at the front door
The holiday flat occupies the entire first floor, the landlords live on the ground floor. The furnishing is absolutely complete. The house is very quietly situated at the edge of the small village Kemmern. However, the village does not have much to offer. The (still very tame) river Main flows nearby, and in 15 minutes on foot you can reach an idyllically situated quarry pond behind the sports field, which doesn't have a beach, but is enough for cooling off after a day of excursions. There is a small playground at the sports field, as well as a fenced-in and well-maintained playground behind the cemetery. We travelled by car, you can get to Bamberg in no time and Bayreuth quickly by motorway. The neighbouring village of Baunach is pretty. You have to go shopping in the neighbouring village of Breitengüßbach, in Kemmern there are only bakers and butchers. Another thing we noticed: even in the tourist strongholds like Bamberg and even more so in the smaller towns, you can eat typical regional food very inexpensively, and the density of inns is also very high. We will be happy to come back!

Peaceful on the edge of the village, Bamberg within easy reach
The 5 of us (adults) stayed for a weekend in this tiptop renovated holiday flat and felt very comfortable. The neighbouring Franconian Switzerland invites you to a variety of hikes during the day, while Bamberg attracts you with its incomparable scenery and lively pub life in the evening.
To enjoy both, however, a car is indispensable.
We can definitely recommend the flat, absolutely quiet and a fantastic unobstructed view from the large balcony.
