The holiday home/gite is separated from the main house, cozily and quaintly furnished, typical for the region.
Furthermore, the gite is fully equipped. As for dishes, pots, etc., as well as towels, bathrobes, and bed linen. They will be provided for the 1st. On the day of arrival, you will find coffee, tea, sugar, spices, and bathroom essentials so that after your long journey you only need to take care of your luggage and can immediately relax. The parking space is located right next door. Storage spaces for any bicycles, trailers, or motorcycles you may have brought are also no problem. An electric car can be charged at the accommodation!

Saulzet le Froid is an approx. 60 inhabitants small very quiet off the beaten track.
There is no wireless network in the village itself. The region is very well known for its cheese production.
The cheese. No noise annoying there is no on the tractor which drives 3-5 times a day at the house. And the church bells the 7am, clock and again briefly at 7 pm.

Relaxing vacation in rural idyll
Our motivation for this vacation was the beautiful landscape of Parc du Volcain.
You can take very nice hikes.
We brought our motorcycle in a trailer, for which the very helpful landlords immediately arranged storage options.
The Gite du Baladou is one of the charming rubble stone houses typical for this area, lovingly restored with a lot of wood, with all kinds of technical comfort and a flower-decorated terrace. We felt very comfortable there, which was of course also due to the nice hosts. Perhaps one more note: the stairs to the bedrooms are not suitable for people with disabilities.

Recommended accommodation
It is one of those typical stone houses with small windows and thick walls that you immediately fall in love with. Beautifully and harmoniously restored with a lot of wood and attention to detail, and a wonderful fireplace that provides pleasant warmth even on cool summer evenings. Comfortable beds, only the stairs to the bedroom take some getting used to. Good kitchen equipment, nothing is missing. A terrace that the hostess skillfully transforms into a blooming garden. Very quiet and conveniently located for hiking and for art lovers - the most significant Romanesque churches of Auvergne are easily accessible. And as an additional plus: German-speaking, very friendly and helpful landlords, who care about the well-being of their guests and fulfill special requests immediately. We thank our hosts for the wonderful stay.
