Holiday home Carpe Diem consists of the large living room and a private garden. This house is cozy and stylishly decorated and suitable for four people. Ideal for a beach holiday with the whole family! The beach house has a spacious living room with various furnitures. The livingroom has an open kitchen along with a smart-tv, a dinner table and two sofa's. The firstfloor can be reached by stairs, where you can find the three bedrooms and the shower and the toilet. In the garden you can enjoy the sun and even stall your bikes.

You will feel at home right from the moment you see the lighthouse! The fishing village Egmond has been one of the most popular family bathing sites in the country. Generations of children have walked towards the waves with shovels and buckets. Egmond aan Zee is one of the centers that make up the municipality of Egmond, which also comprises Egmond Binnen and Egmond aan de Hoef. The resort presents an ideal destination for a family holiday and offers a wide range of accommodation. Egmond and its surrounding district boasts an eventful history.
The history of Egmond
In Egmond aan de Hoef you will find the ruins of Egmond castle, the former residence of the Count of Egmond who was married to Jacoba van Beieren. The Count was a celebrated Dutch statesman, who was eventually beheaded for his ambitions on the Central Market Square in Brussels.
Egmond has close links with a number of monastic orders. There are three monasteries in the vicinity of Egmond which are still occupied, including the Abbey of Egmond at Egmond Binnen. This Abbey stood at the beginning of the conversion of Europe to Christianity.

Its location directly on the sea means Egmond boasts a promenade from where you can enjoy a sea view from your hotel and maybe even see the monumental "Van Speyk" lighthouse and the historic fishing cottages that determine the face of the heart of Egmond. The beach is the most important feature of charming Egmond. Enjoy lovely, sunny days being lazy, or come over in the fall to catch a breath of fresh air at sea. During your stay in Egmond aan Zee, you can also visit the nearby artists' village Bergen. Another option is a day of shopping in Alkmaar, here you can buy plenty of cheeses! In addition to these towns, Egmond is also surrounded by beautiful nature, so you can make wonderful hiking and cycling trips.

Great location, very nice apartment
The apartment is very nice. The living room is nicely furnished and very spacious. The kitchen is well equipped and big enough for proper cooking. The bathroom is clean and of a high standard. The fenced terrace with table and seating invites you to stay. Upstairs there is a narrow steep staircase, which our 86-year-old mother managed well despite her complaints. However, it is very cramped upstairs. Two rooms are equipped with a single bed, a mattress for a second sleeping option is leaning against the wall. If this is used for sleeping, there is hardly any space left to walk. The third room has a narrow double bed. So it's very tight for 6 people.
Since most holiday homes here in Egmond have been built in the backyards in close proximity to the beach, it will probably look similar everywhere.
For the four of us plus a dog, the apartment was absolutely sufficient.
The proximity to the sea and the city center were of invaluable advantage for us. In the morning I could take my dog walk on the beach (dogs are allowed on the beach until 10 a.m. and from 7 p.m.), we were also quickly at the beach with grandma, and in the evening we could walk to one of the numerous good restaurants in the city for dinner.
Thanks to the parking card system, we didn't have to worry about parking. However, it is sometimes difficult to find a parking space on the weekends - but it always worked out.
All in all, we felt very comfortable in the cottage and really enjoyed our vacation. The contact with Mr. Azizi was characterized by friendliness and warmth.
We gladly recommend this cottage!
