Late summer holiday

We had a relaxing time in the beautiful and very well equipped house, everything has been thought of. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a washing machine in the bathroom

The house is surrounded by a large garden and is in a quiet location. We made many trips to the sea and the mountains, both are easily accessible. Lorgues is a nice little town with good shopping facilities, you should not miss the weekly market. The landlady is very friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable and had a wonderful holiday.

What do you need to experience in Lorgues?

Churches, wine, and exciting trips

Var is the main destination for holidaymakers heading for the beach of the Côte d'Azur. Here you will find 400 km of coastline and 230 beaches. But the holiday resort Lorgues also offers some highlights during your holiday with a holiday home or apartment. These include the local church with its square bell tower and four bells. After the Basilique de St Maximin, it is the second-largest church in the Var department. The Provencal market in Lorgues is even considered one of the largest and most beautiful in Provence and enjoys a reputation beyond the region. The historic city wall was built in the 12th century. Two entrance gates can still be admired today. In the southwest of the walls, you will find the 28-meter-high bell tower "Le Beffroi" in a magnificent wrought-iron bell frame. Another attraction is the only still active oil mill in the village: "Le moulin de Lorgues". Attractive excursion destinations include the St. Julien d'Aille winery, Marseille, or the Gorge du Verdon, known as the French Grand Canyon. Here you can also hike, kayak, or canoe. If you prefer something more glittering and dazzling, you can also visit the metropolises of Nice, Monaco, or Cannes. For many holidaymakers, the most popular destinations are the picturesque bathing resorts Saint Tropez and Sainte-Maxime, which are only about 50 kilometers away. Rent a holiday accommodation, a house, or a villa with a garden, terrace, swimming pool, and views of the idyllic landscape in the best location and take trips to the city or stroll through the beautiful olive groves.

Where can I eat out in Lorgues?

Famous dishes and regional products

If you rent a holiday home or apartment privately in Lorgues, you should also try the typical Provencal cuisine. Local chefs rely on fresh, regional products from the area, such as peppers, aubergines, or courgettes. Seafood is also always popular. The Mediterranean cuisine of the Provence also relies on garlic, olive oil, and tomatoes. Bouillabaisse is a dish that combines these ingredients. This famous fish soup often contains a dozen types of fish and shellfish from the nearby Mediterranean Sea. The typical cuisine of Provence is spicier than in more northern provinces. You will also find guinea fowl on the menus, which you can also get at the weekly markets. Let yourself be recommended a suitable wine to go with your meal in Lorgues. The southern French are hard to beat in this area, which is also reflected in numerous positive reviews of the local restaurants. After a successful dinner, you can stroll through the villages, olive groves, or the old town.

How do I come to Lorgues?

The Provence beckons

Lorgues is a beautiful holiday destination in the Var department in France. The municipality belongs to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, the Vidauban canton in the Draguignan district. Here you can spend unforgettable holidays with the whole family. We also recommend a holiday with a dog in Lorgues with a private holiday home or apartment. Lorgues is located in a hilly area and is surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. The municipality is located in the center of Var between the Gorges du Verdon and the Mediterranean Sea. Your journey from Germany to southern France takes you by plane via the major airports of Nice or Marseille. If you prefer to travel by train, you can use the TGV high-speed line via Lyon, Avignon, Valence, and Aix-en-Provence to Marseille. From Lyon, the toll motorway A7 also leads towards Var and Lorgues. Alternatively, you can use the national N7. Arrive relaxed and enjoy your first night in this beautiful region! Book a holiday accommodation, a house, or a villa in a prime location with a terrace, garden, swimming pool, and views of the beautiful landscape with olive groves. Numerous sights await you in the surrounding area and the nearest town.
