The hot tub is a special experience, the sauna is relaxing, the fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere, and the kitchen is equipped with good appliances.

Celebrate a birthday with extended family.

In total, 16 people climbed up, with toddlers, teenagers, young people, and us as a grandparent couple, we celebrated in the Schlössle: A unique house, in which EVERYTHING was available for a very stylish and unforgettable weekend. The huge kitchen with plenty of dishes and glasses, fantastic etageres, bowls, and wooden boards made it easy for us to cater for everyone and set up beautiful buffets for meals. Everything is spotlessly clean and very, very beautifully designed!
Achim was a super nice host.
We were also allowed to sled right by the house (giant fun!)

Freudenstadt has a very long and eventful history. The town was founded by none other than Emperor Frederick I. The town suffered great destruction during World War II. The reconstruction was carried out according to a special plan, where modern buildings were to be in a healthy ratio to the rebuilt old ones. This led to the creation of a very special town with very special attractions. Among the highlights of Freudenstadt is the huge market square, four hectares in size! The surrounding arcade houses, so named for their arcades on the lower level, are beautiful. Also worth seeing are the old town hall with its local history museum, the Neptune fountain, and the old town hall. The town church, with its delicate vaulting inside, built in 1601, consists of two spatially separate so-called longhouses, where men and women formerly prayed separately. The nearby show mine "Friedrichsgrube", a former silver mine shut down in 1750, is definitely worth a visit. Last but not least, a trip to the former Grand Hotel "Waldlust", part of the "Lost Places" project, can be visited by appointment and guided tour.

Kniebis is particularly rewarding. The village offers not only a forest swimming pool but also several premium walking paths like the "Genießerpfad Kniebiser Heimatpfad" or "Kniebiser Klostersteig". In winter, right in front of the terrace of your holiday house or apartment, you have your own ski area: nearly 100 km of groomed trails, night trails, snowshoe and winter hiking trails, toboggan runs, and a ski lift in the Stokinger winter sports area.

The traditional cuisine of the Black Forest is renowned far beyond its borders. For many visitors, the Black Forest gateau followed by Black Forest ham and… less for eating… the obligatory cuckoo clock come to mind immediately. The Northern Black Forest subregion has much more to offer, being one of the gourmet regions of Baden-Württemberg. Schupfnudeln and Maultaschen are the classics among "pasta dishes" and are often refined by star chefs. You should try the "Flädlesuppe" and the onion roast beef at least once. "Schäufele" – the flat pork shoulder – is also known from other southern regions, but it is prepared slightly differently everywhere. Do you know what "Herrgottsbscheißerle" is? Some also call it the "original Maultasche". The name comes from its inventors, the monks from Maulbronn, who 'hid' meat in the pastry during Lent. In the Black Forest, after a meat-heavy feast, it is common to enjoy a fruit brandy – naturally cherry, but not only! Delicious beers also come from the region's small breweries, which are definitely worth a try.
