Description
completed in 2005, the entire villa is lovingly and individually furnished. On the first floor with teak flooring, on the ground floor with terrazzo.
Each DHH has its own entrance, bathroom etc.; however, the large balcony, the terrace as well as the pool and the garden are accessible to all residents of the villa!
The breathtaking view of the sea from the balcony is simply fantastic; the pool and the garden/lawn are the icing on the cake!
For all eco-friends: The villa has two solar systems: one for hot water (only available to a limited extent, depending on the sun and consumption), and one for electricity production
The location is simply ingenious: on the one hand directly on the beach, on the other hand only three minutes walk away from local shops and taxi stand; and after a four km walk on the beach you are in the middle of the bustling tourist life of the famous resort of Hikkaduwa.
Our long-time staff Chandra and Upendra (who, by the way, both have our complete trust!), make sure that you can enjoy your holiday even more: they prepare breakfast for you on request, keep the house, pool and garden clean, help with cooking and washing up, and do your laundry (you only have to hang it out and put it away when it is sun-dried!). They are also available to help you with your daily shopping (groceries, household supplies, etc.) and always settle everything with you down to the rupee.

Location and surroundings of object
It is only 15 minutes to the newly built motorway from the airport near Colombo to the south to Galle. Beach, sea, jungle, lagoon, Buddhist temples in the immediate vicinity.

Yala Park has the densest leopard population in the world
Sinharaja Forest is the last primary rainforest in Sri Lanka and can only be passed on foot.
The fort in Galle is a World Heritage Site!
Whale-watching is only an hour and a half by car and about the same by boat!

The special advantage is the unique location of our villa: directly on the beach, with a view of the wide sea, and to the left and right along the long beach bay. And on the one hand it is a bit 'off the beaten track', with Singalese neighbours on the edge of a local village, and yet not too far from the nearest tourist centre, Hikkaduwa, where 'the Pope boxes'. And another big plus: the Galle Road runs only about 100 m behind our house; but due to the permanent sound of the surf, you don't hear any of it at all. Nor of the train traffic, a few metres behind Galle Road!
towards sunset, it is fun to enjoy the beach hustle and bustle in front of the villa!
And there is another very important advantage to staying on the balcony of the villa: there is practically always a breeze. You notice how good this is when you walk a few metres inland across the road: it is often hot and oppressively humid right away!
Do you like to eat out without having to drive far? No problem: within a 30-minute walk from the villa you can reach about 10 restaurants; and in Hikkaduwa (another 20 minutes) about 30 more!
You want to do water sports? Welcome to surfing, diving (several schools!) and snorkelling in Hikkaduwa!
And if you are a fan of wildlife watching: To see whales (at certain times) at Marissa, it only takes about an hour and a half drive from us!

We will be back!
We spent a total of 6 nights in the accommodation and felt completely comfortable. Each of the rooms is neat and clean and equipped with mosquito nets. You can also use the wifi in the whole house, which was very important for me.
The landlords and the staff are very friendly and helpful
The beautiful view from the house and the location directly on the beach invites you to long walks on the beach, the pool in the garden gives a good change from the salty sea water. In addition, there is a pharmacy and several small shops in the immediate vicinity where you can get the most necessary groceries. Apart from that, several other shops, restaurants, bars or even diving centres etc. can be reached within a few minutes by tuk-tuk
All in all, it was an all-round relaxed and successful holiday and there was absolutely nothing to criticise about our stay. The price-performance ratio was right. It was definitely not our last stay at Villa Kandu.

Dream holiday
The spacious semi-detached house is tastefully furnished and lacks nothing. Although the sea is only 10 steps away, I really enjoyed using the pool in the garden. The garden is large and even when the second half of the house is occupied, each person finds a wonderful place to rest
Terrace and balcony offer a wonderful view of the bay, which invites to long walks. The house is situated in a very quiet area with traditional fishing boats on site, yet it is not far from numerous restaurants and cafés and opportunities for sporting activities. Exciting excursions can be easily organised by bike, tuktuk or taxi.
The two maids, who fulfil every culinary wish, keep everything in order and contribute to the feel-good atmosphere and security, offer a certain luxury. Price/performance are unbeatable for me. We have already booked our next stay.
