Description
On the Côte d'Azur on the Giens Peninsula/Southern France.
Spacious, light-flooded holiday home of 125 sqm in a quiet location with a fantastic sea view from the terrace and the adjoining living room. For rent
In the middle of a 2000 sqm fenced property with old Mediterranean trees, comfortable, in a quiet location!
Completely renovated with state-of-the-art technology.
Scenic highlight ! ! ! From the house, 5 minutes on foot to the 5 km long sandy beach, 10 minutes to the rocky coves. All with private access for residents only. Therefore exclusive and never crowded, even in high season.
The peninsula is a scenic highlight on the Côte d'Azur. Breathtaking, Mediterranean coastal landscape.
The Giens peninsula is so special because it is only sparsely built up. You won't find that anywhere else on the Côte d’Azur. A large part of Giens is wild, Mediterranean nature. From the house, 5 minutes on foot to the sandy beach, 10 minutes to the rocky coves.
Two approximately 12 km long, very different sandy beaches that form the land connection, and many rocky coves with pebble beaches as well as other very different beaches.
Even if you stay for 3 weeks, you could go to a different beautiful spot by the sea every day. Wonderful pebble coves and sandy beaches of all kinds of character can be reached on foot or with our 3 bicycles.
There are maps of the island in the house. The "Sentier litoral," the footpath that leads almost around the entire island, is unique.
This way, you can walk around the undeveloped western tip of the peninsula in about 2 ½ hours and experience fascinating nature with bays of all different characters.
The hiking trail along the east coast, starting directly below our house, is very varied and shorter.
Wonderful hikes, walks & bike tours (3 bikes are available). Tennis courts in the park in the village.
Perfect for family holidays with children. Complete equipment for the beach is available, from children to adults. Incl. toys and multiple snorkels.
Just as enjoyable for two people.
Completely mosquito-free property and house thanks to ecological devices in the garden. Wonderful evenings and nights on the large terrace with a fantastic sea view without mosquitoes. Hillside location, 2 stories:
Below: large entrance area, 1 bedroom with double bed, 2 bedrooms each with 2 single beds (which can be pushed together to make a double bed), bathroom, guest WC, storage room incl. 3 bicycles. Above: Spacious living room with dining table, sofa, armchairs, TV, compact stereo system with radio, Bluetooth and CD player, CD collection, fireplace & library, desk as a workspace with sea view, fast internet throughout the house and the entire property, and a wide selection of international TV programs via fiber optic cable. The living room opens onto a large terrace with a fantastic sea view. Next to it, the very well-equipped kitchen with Jura coffee machine, coffee maker, Sodastream sparkling water maker, toaster, stove with oven and pyrolysis, Miele dishwasher, large refrigerator with large separate freezer compartment from Liebherr, plenty of high-quality cooking utensils and dishes, glasses and cutlery for 12 people, pantry. Nearby: Regional farmers' market, market hall with fishmonger, wine shop, supermarkets, bakeries, newsstands (with international press), fishermen, butcher, pharmacy, boutiques, cafés, restaurants and weekly market with regional products. Golf course near Hyères on the mainland. Tennis courts in the park in the village.
10 min walk from the house: Ferry to the car-free island of Porquerolles.
Paradise for water sports. On the peninsula, several small harbors with fish sales directly from the fishermen & restaurants.
Day trips:
The nearby car-free islands Porquerolles & Port Cros, the Romanesque monasteries & poetic villages of Provence, Marseille, Aix (with Cezanne's studio), Avignon, Nice, Cannes, Grasse, the Gorges du Verdon (= "Grand Canyon of France"), Fort Bregancon, bike tours,…

Day trips - which certainly worthwhile:
Hike around the western tip of Giens on the Sentier littoral: wild, Mediterranean nature with überwätigenden bays for swimming. The road is located on one of the plans. The starting point can be reached by our bikes or by car.
From Port La Tour Fondue (10 minutes walk from the house) there is a ferry to the beautiful, car-free island of Porquerolles. There you can hike or explore the island by bike. Right on the harbor of Porquerolles there are bike rental stations. In the small town there are excellent restaurants.
Pure Wild nature on the main island of Port Cros. The can be reached by ferry, leaving from the Port d'Hyères.
The beautiful Romanesque Abbey Le Thoronet:
The Villa Noailles in Hyères. Literature is available in our library.
The Calanques between Marseille and Cassis: fjord-like bays over 20 km in length, surrounded by up to 600 m high limestone cliffs and lapped by the turquoise Mediterranean. In small, rented boats can can drive through the Calanques.
Aix is beautiful and worth a day trip so much to explore. The landscape in Aix is, realizes a the pictures of Cézanne.
In Aix a special art experience is the studio of Cézanne:
On the homepage you can also find a German translation.
Avignon has become quite touristy.
Marseille is a beautiful port city with africa Sichen influences. The city has several interesting museums.
More charming and special places that are not touristy, and Romanesque monasteries and churches you can discover in the guidebooks in our entire library itself.
Pure nature - again quite different: The Gorges du Verdon, as, Grand Canyon of France 'designated.

Dream house under pine trees
Great house and property. Practical and fully furnished. The sea shimmers through the trees everywhere. Great view from the terrace. We didn't miss the air conditioning, despite the heat in the end. Of course the peninsula is very crowded in summer. The private free beach access for residents is a clear advantage. Great restaurants within easy reach, also on the beach. Monaco, St.Tropez; Aix , Gorges of Verdon easily accessible by car. But Hyères, Giens and La Capte have enough to offer. Must-dos: take the bus to the market in Giens on Tuesdays, take children to Magic World (don't forget cash), hike around the peninsula only with good shoes, book restaurants in summer. Surf and kite schools on the headland on the beach. Mrs Oswalt is available with great tips via Whatsapp. Inexpensive shopping in supermarkets in Hyères, fresh fish at GrandFrais; God willing - we'll be back

Very nice holiday home
The holiday home is spacious, very well maintained, clean and very comfortably furnished. We felt at home there right away. Mrs Oswalt responded promptly and carefully to all requests before, during and after our holiday.
The location of the house and the view of the sea from the terrace are fantastic, the garden is nice and big and several beautiful beaches are within walking distance. The internet connection in the house is fast and reliable.
We had an all-round relaxing and wonderful week in the house.
Many thanks to Mrs Oswalt for the warm care! We will be happy to come back.

Contact
Mr. P. Oswalt
We are the son and grandson of the architect who designed the house and his wife, the current owner. The two of them built the house for family vacations in the early 1970s, and we have spent countless vacations there since our childhood, making friends with the neighbors. For us, this place has become a second home.
