Wonderfully peaceful in a great environment!

After a very nice week on the houseboat on the Canal du Midi, we have now spent 10 wonderful days here in this little house and enjoyed the time here very much. With mostly beautiful weather, we hiked, went swimming in the Gorges d'Heric and at the Orb, used the terrace for lounging, playing games, reading, cozy barbecues, and ended the days with a glass of red wine under a beautiful starry sky while watching the bats. We used the only cloudy, slightly rainy day for a trip to the temple city of La Couvertoirade, where you can feel a bit like a crusader, Templar, in the Middle Ages, especially in cloudy and foggy weather, rather than pushing through the streets with masses of tourists. A worthwhile trip, if you - like us - enjoy old buildings. Of course, there are also beautiful places nearby, especially Olargues, which is truly beautiful, but here in Mons as well, there are many beautiful corners! All together - the old villages, the magnificent nature with its chestnut forests, rock climbing sites, narrow ancient hiking trails, the diverse wildlife - from various butterflies, non-venomous snakes, bats to mouflons, the tranquility up here, the fairytale bathing pools in the Gorges d'Heric and in the Gorges Colombieres (a tip: if you set off earlier, you have the most beautiful pools to yourself and it is still wonderfully quiet)! Conclusion: we really enjoyed it and felt very comfortable here!

Herrlicher Sommer in Mons

Unfortunately, our vacation has come to an end, and we are back in the Rhineland. We would like to thank you once again for two wonderful weeks at Mas Bijou. The handover and briefing were very friendly and thorough. The equipment of your house leaves nothing to be desired, and the location is naturally unique. The numerous excursion tips in the cupboard were very helpful. We felt extremely comfortable. As "flatlanders", of course, one has to get used to the adventurous approach, but after a few days, we had it figured out and encounters and evasive maneuvers in the mountains were no longer an issue for us. The area around Mons is unique, and we will definitely come back. However, next time in spring or autumn, so that one can go hiking or cycling without the risk of heatstroke.

Everything the heart needs!

The house was very beautiful. At the upper end of an idyllic village in a beautiful valley. Peace was peace. And yet close enough to interesting things to discover. This is what a relaxing vacation looks like! The house was tip-top - everything was there! And to top it off: The stove that we lit in the evenings because it was still a bit chilly. Seasonal reasons. 100% recommendation from us.

Super cool vacation

We stayed there with the whole family, 2 adults and 3 children. We all agree that it was one of the most beautiful places we have been to so far. The house was so spacious that we never had to step on each other's toes and it was also very comfortable, we didn't miss anything at all. The children could really let off steam there and it was never boring. The many great swimming opportunities were just fantastic. In some pools, you could even jump in from the rocks. And the water was super clean. We were also very enthusiastic about the house - it was very clean and we were well taken care of upon arrival, with everything explained and shown to us. The dishwasher (especially useful for us children) and the television with many programs were great. We were able to connect the Wii and also used many games that were available in the house. All in all, we were really lucky. I will definitely go there again with my girlfriend and have a "romantic vacation." Our whole family can wholeheartedly recommend this house and this fantastic area.

Paradisiacal bathing pools!

We wanted to live like God in France. So, first of all, we drove up the short but adventurous way here and found this great house. Here we also found: divine wine *** fantastic views *** heavenly bathing coves *** heavenly bread (also crispy) *** Golden and silver-rich pictures from the Olympus of sports *** refreshing coolness *** and a house lovingly furnished and a cool refrigerator, not to mention the big ant - a great vacation! Beautiful landscape + great swimming opportunities

We are totally thrilled by the landscape. The house leaves nothing to be desired. Very clean and super comfortable. The kitchen is really well equipped. Very good beds/mattresses. We miss the peace, sun, and evening atmosphere in this landscape with a glass of red wine on the terrace. We will definitely come back and can only recommend this romantic holiday home. We were absolutely thrilled by the gorges/canyons, the spring in Olargues with the large basin, and everything crystal clear like mineral water. The natural pools were the absolute highlight for us. We really enjoyed our vacation and felt extremely comfortable there. We would also like to emphasize the friendly handover and the many useful tips.

Vacation in paradise

We experienced a holiday like in paradise here. After several years without vacation, we particularly enjoyed the 3 weeks in Mons La Trivalle. Everything we wished for we found here, or a short drive away by car. For relaxation, we found wonderful beaches by the sea (Agde, Serignan, Valras) - with or without clothing - whatever the heart desires. However, the real paradise we found in the nearby Gorges. With A. As "survival tour guides," we probably discovered the most beautiful spots in the area. Paradise pools surrounded by magnificent rocks, inviting for sunbathing and swimming. We were particularly excited about this - adults and children - which is why we prepared for an overnight stay in the upper part of the Gorges d'Colombieres. After nights in the house were very warm, we believed we were well equipped with wool blankets and sleeping mats. How wrong we were! Imitators should definitely pack the sleeping bag, because the nighttime winds in the Gorges are quite cool! Nevertheless, the fresh night winds could hardly diminish the dreamlike experience, on the contrary, they provided a cool head. As self-caterers, we appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the large table. There is easily enough space for 10 hungry wolves to be fed. Highly recommended in this area is local fish for the menu. The prices are very reasonable! It's hard for us to leave paradise, but work is calling louder and louder, so we move on again to earn a living, so that we can soon come back to one of the most beautiful places we have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Dreamlike: House, Landscape-Natural Pools-Gorges

Our 3rd vacation in this house. That actually says it all. . . Landscape: We are thrilled! Whether on foot or by car, in just a few minutes you reach many great bathing spots - we have now hiked around 5 km around the house and discovered 8 streams in the gorges and can't get enough. Crystal clear turquoise clean water - perfect temperature - even our children were totally thrilled again. We always feel like we are transported back in time. And few tourists. House: And this vacation was wonderful again, the detached medieval house is lovingly restored and furnished and very clean - you immediately feel very comfortable. Good beds and a super large refrigerator - in the basement, you can even use a second refrigerator for drinks. Cooking in the very well-equipped kitchen was a lot of fun for us, and we also enjoyed the large terrace, the tranquility, and the great view. During breakfast on the terrace, let your eyes wander over the hills, enjoy the sunset in the evening (and listen to the crickets and owls). Lighting the fireplace on the two cool evenings and sitting by the fire was perfect. (Unfortunately, it was mostly too hot otherwise) Twice we even saw mouflons on the lower terrace at night! A house for those who desire seclusion without being out of the world. The wonderful peace amidst the vineyards and green hills lets the soul unwind. And if it should become too quiet, there are plenty of books or games in the house. We felt so comfortable that the next vacation is already firmly booked. Of our 3 vacations, the time in May/June during cherry season was particularly relaxing: as it is not yet so hot during this time, we could do a lot of long or short hikes and explorations. Swimming was always possible. We had a lot of fun especially with canyoning and canoeing on the Orb or Herault. Especially noteworthy was the warm handover by Mrs. D with lots of useful information and tips. From us and the kids: ***** stars

Wonderful vacation!!!

It was truly a wonderful holiday - we had sun all week long and were able to go on a few hikes, sit outside a lot, etc. We really liked the house, we felt comfortable from the first minute (even my wife, who is usually more critical, thought it was fantastic). The location of the house is unique, so secluded, on the edge of the pretty little village and surrounded by nature. We visited, among other things, We did a longer hike that started right at the house and led us through Héric and through the Georges d'Héric back to Mons, it was beautiful. Particularly noteworthy is the cleanliness of the house and the kitchen equipment that leaves nothing to be desired. Great also the large refrigerator, of course the TV with numerous German channels, and the great fireplace, which we even "fired up" on a few evenings. The only thing we had to get used to was the slightly low water pressure in the shower (or did we do something wrong?). But it was totally fine. Thank you also for the bottle of wine on the table and for the free use of various items from the drawer. We left some groceries for Mrs. D. (who by the way did a very nice and uncomplicated handover of the house with us) in the fridge and a few things like beer, toilet paper, oil, etc. Conclusion: We really enjoyed our time with you and can imagine coming back again.

Tale of Three Who Set Out to Explore Languedoc! Once upon a time, three friends, A., M., and Holi, traveled far to take a vacation in the mountains. On the first day, they sweated as they walked along the Gorges d'Heric, cooling off with a refreshing swim in the cool water. The Grotte de la Deveze was the attraction for the tireless three on the second day. Stalactites and stalagmites were very impressive. With rain and cold weather, the three travelers then headed to Carcassonne on the third day. Here they climbed the city walls and ate plenty of crepes. Equipped with hiking shoes and provisions, the three finally moved to Bardou on the fourth day. The wonderful view and beautiful nature impressed them a lot. On the fifth day, the friends then went to relax and swim in the Orb. Late on the sixth day, the three travelers got out of bed and visited Lamalou and Bedarieux in the midday heat. When the three friends were not out and about, they spent their time drinking red wine and playing in the wonderful, well-equipped stone house Mas Bijoux, which is worth another vacation trip at any time. And if they have not died, they still talk today about the great trip to the holiday house in Mons La Trivalle.
