Location and surroundings of object
Our house is only a 5-minute walk from the town centre, but in a quiet, preferred residential area directly on the vineyards. You can reach the bathing lake approx. 500 m from the house. Numerous hiking trails into the vineyards start approx. 200 m away. Wonderful cycle paths invite you to tours around or into the Kaiserstuhl.
Shopping markets are approx. 500 m away.
Endingen is a state-recognised recreational area with a population of approx. Here, the visitor is surprised to encounter the charm of a small country town from the Austrian frontier. Endingen belonged to the Austrian frontier from 1379 to 1806. The market square is picturesque, dominated by the high stepped gable of the stately granary. The Renaissance façade and Baroque portal give the old town hall, dating from 1527, a friendly appearance with valuable armorial bearings. The New Town Hall in the course of the main street (with noteworthy patrician houses) is a building from the middle of the 18th century with rich rococo stucco and artistically wrought balcony railings. The Üsenbergerhof is a late Gothic house with a half-timbered construction from the 15th century. The tendril and wall paintings found here are among the earliest in southern Germany.
The pretty Königschaffhauser gate with its lantern-crowned pyramid roof, a worthy gate for hikes into the interior of the Kaiserstuhl, is a characteristic feature of this charming little town.
Endingen looks after St. Catherine's Chapel, the crowning glory of the northern Kaiserstuhl, which is situated at the highest point of the Endingen district (492 m).
It is a good place to live. Numerous restaurants with beautiful open-air terraces invite you to enjoy a glass of wine and a good meal
Good shopping facilities are available.
At the "Erle-Weiher" bathing lake you will find a large lawn for sunbathing with a kiosk and other leisure facilities such as mini-golf and chess.
