Location and surroundings of object

Villa Kismet is often used by the owners and is furnished according to their ideas. Therefore, no child-friendly furnishings are available and renting to families with children is not possible.
The rental is therefore exclusively for a maximum of 2 adults.
Villa Kismet is a non-smoking house. Therefore, please do not smoke in the house, but you are welcome to smoke outside the house.
Bed linen, towels and beach towels are provided. However, you should bring a large beach blanket to lie on.
The keys to the villa will be handed over to you by the English and German speaking staff of the Azur Hotel. They will brief you on the local conditions and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
The Azur Hotel also offers various excursions for its guests. You are welcome to take part in these after registering accordingly.

Should you miss anything important in the equipment, please let us know.

How to get there:
By rental car:
From Antalya airport, follow the signs for Kemer/Mugla (through Antalya). You will pass Kemer, then Tekirova. Now the road leads into the mountains. You pass the first turn-off to Ulupinar (on the left), then the second turn-off to Ulupinar (also on the left). After about 1000 metres you reach the turn-off to Cirali (on the left, signposted accordingly). Follow the road down into the valley (7 km), reach Cirali and follow the signs to the Azur Hotel. From there you will be taken to Villa Kismet.
Coming from Mugla, take the coastal road towards Antalya, pass Kumluca and reach the turn-off to Cirali (on the right) approx. 28 km after Kumluca. Continue as above.

Without a rental car:
If you do not wish to hire a car, we can also arrange for you to be picked up at the airport. The transfer then costs 90,-€ per way for 2 persons (not per person). The return transfer to the airport is of course also possible and also costs 90,-€ per way.

By public transport:
Travelling by public transport is somewhat more complicated and very time-consuming.
Take the hourly airport bus to the Antalya bus station. From there, take the dolmus (minibus) on the main road via Kemer in the direction of Kumluca to the turn-off for Cirali. From there, take the dolmus down to Cirali. Cirali is a small village and is reached by a mountain road that winds down into the bay from about 700 metres. The road ends in Cirali.
Here, people live mainly from growing fruit and vegetables. Only in the summer months do holidaymakers come in manageable numbers to enjoy the sea, nature and the tranquil calm away from the large streams of tourists.
There are several small but well-stocked supermarkets in the village. There is no bank in Cirali, but there is an ATM.
Small restaurants and guesthouses in town and by the sea offer typical Turkish cuisine in a mostly cosy atmosphere.
You will also find several car and bicycle rental agencies in the village.
Tip: The plain of Cirali is accessed by a ring road. This is approx. 8 km long and leads around the edge of the valley. As there is no through traffic here, the bicycle is the ideal means of transport in the valley.

Leisure activities:

Hiking
Various hiking trails lead to different ancient sights.

Canoeing
Canoe trips to neighbouring bays are possible. Canoe rental in the village.

Boat trips
Various excursions with small boats are offered in the season.

Cycling

additional information:

Sea and beach
Crystal-clear water attracts the Caretta-Caretta turtle to lay eggs on the beach of Cirali in May and June. Until August, the clutches are protected by WWF volunteers, then the little turtles make their way into the sea.
The beach is about 4 kilometres long and can be reached on foot in 10 comfortable minutes from the house. Here you will always find a quiet place to swim and relax.
Sand and pebble beaches alternate. During the day there is always a gentle breeze from the sea, in the evening a stronger land breeze.

Sightseeing and hiking in the immediate vicinity
If you have enjoyed enough beach, sea and sun, you might like to explore the surrounding area.
The following explorations can be easily reached on foot from the house:

Chimera
The eternal flames are about 3 km away. Turn left at the road coming from the house, follow the road until you reach a sharp left turn of the road straight ahead to a gravel track with the sign Chimera (eternal flames). Follow the gravel road straight ahead and at the end of the small valley you will reach the entrance to the flames. These are above you on the mountainside (cannot yet be seen). You follow the path uphill (walked comfortably for about 25 minutes). The best time is of course in the dark, but beware, the last path uphill is then difficult to walk on (torch strongly recommended). Don't forget to take enough water with you (can also be bought at the entrance in season).

Olympos
The ancient Lycian town of Olympos lies at the other end of the bay from Cirali, about 5 km away. You walk along the beach (you can also use the road) to the end of the bay, then turn right into a narrow side valley and you are already in the ruins. To the left and right of the (mostly dry) river, hidden among the bushes and trees, you will find numerous ruins worth seeing (theatre, thriumph arch, mosaics, sarcophagi, etc.).

Lycian Hiking Trail
One of the most beautiful hiking trails in Turkey passes Villa Kismet at a distance of about 200 metres. You can walk the trail in different directions. Various travel guides have described the corresponding hikes here.
You are also welcome to ask for advice on further hiking possibilities at the Rüya-Pansion in the village.

Day trips by car
Various day trips can be made by car (or by minibus organised by local travel agencies):

On Fridays to the farmers' market in Kumluca (30 kilometres). This colourful fruit and vegetable market is popular with the local population for shopping and chatting. At the same time (also in Kumluca), a large textile market takes place. Hundreds of stalls with new textiles of all kinds line the streets.

Further on in the direction of Mugla, the theatre of Myra and the rock tombs attract visitors. Nicholas has here

If you turn right into the mountains in Finike (the next village after Kumluca in the direction of Mugla), you will find signs for various trout restaurants after about 20 km. Here you can eat freshly prepared trout in a cosy and unspoilt setting by a small stream (very pleasant in summer).
Tip: Drive a little further inland and you will reach the ancient Lycian town of Arykanda, picturesquely situated in the mountains.

A little further away in the direction of Mugla is the long sandy beach of Patara, which is well worth seeing (of course, it also has some very interesting ruins).

In the direction of Antalya, there is the ancient city of Phaselis, beautifully situated on two bays, the small provincial town of Kemer with many souvenir shops, the old town of Antalya (well worth seeing, restored), the ancient city of Termessos (above Antalya in the mountains, very beautiful view of the bay), the theatre of Aspendos (well worth seeing because of its size and state of preservation) as well as numerous other ancient sites.

A very nice excursion is via Beycik high into the mountains to the Hochalm (approx. 1500 metres). Pristine mountain landscapes with pleasant daytime temperatures attract the heat-weary visitor

Great holiday home

We spent 12 days in October 2015 as a couple in the beautiful Villa Kismet in Cirali
The house was lovingly and functionally furnished by the owner.
There are several places to sit and lie in the garden.
The beach as well as restaurants and shops in Cirali can be easily reached by bike.
The handing over and dropping off of the keys at the Rüya Pension worked very well.
Cirali is a wonderful, quiet place to relax!
We will definitely be back :-)

recommend for: holiday without car, cultural and sightseeing holiday, beach holiday, romantic holiday
