Small but nice

Small, nice wooden house with enough space for four adults. The furnishings are simple but functional. Perfectly quiet and beautiful for a countryside vacation in the Masurian region. However, those who cannot do without internet and television should look elsewhere.

Ein wunderschöner Urlaub

We were in Masuria for the first time (3 weeks) and were thrilled!

Everything just fit:
The house is secluded, very individually furnished, and has a beautiful garden (exactly as described on the internet). You walk about 100 m to the beach, a rowing boat is available at any time.

We received valuable advice from Mr. Tarnawski: canoe trip in the picturesque lake landscape (about... 3 hours, longer tours are also possible), motorboat ride to historical sites, visit to the Wolf's Lair (we were there on July 20), bison reserve, and much more…

Mr. Tarnawski took care of everything, the organization of each "event" worked perfectly. Even smaller requests, like laundry, were promptly fulfilled.

We also discovered many things on our own, such as a picturesque nature reserve in the north of Srokowo, about 20 km away from the holiday resort (there is a bakery, everything self-made). Additionally, in the surrounding area, there are many cycling and hiking routes where you can experience and enjoy the Masurian landscape.

You can have a very varied holiday here. Highly recommended!!! A heartfelt THANK YOU to Mr. Tarnawski!

Toller Familienurlaub in Masuren

Our (2 adults with three children ages 12, 10, and 8) first vacation in Masuria was very enjoyable. The wooden house with its own garden full of fruits (raspberries, red and black currants, plums, pears) is very cozy and clean. The access to the lake is right in front of the house, boats available, the location is very peaceful. Overall, the northeastern part of Masuria is not very touristy, and the closer you get to the Russian border, the quieter it becomes. Great excursion options to the "strongholds" of the Masurian Lakes Lötzen and Nikolaiken, as well as to the Rominter Heide, Schloß Steinort, and the Masurian Canal.
Insider tip: Take a walk from the parking lot on the road between Ogonki and Pozezdrze to the bunker facilities at Hochwald - not as crowded as the Wehrmacht facilities (Mamerki) and free.
Lots of blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries in the surrounding forests. A heartfelt thank you to the owner Mr. Tarnawski for always being very helpful and maintaining open communication (fluent in English and German).

Masurian holiday

Many thanks to Mr. Tarnawski for the beautiful accommodation and the friendly support with our questions. The cottage has everything we needed for a holiday, we felt very comfortable. The well-maintained, well-laid out garden gives enough space for the whole family. Our children especially enjoyed playing with the little dog Ara.

Holiday in Masuria

After a long drive to our holiday destination, we were greeted in a very friendly and approachable manner by the landlord Mr. Tarnawski. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. We immediately felt comfortable and arrived on holiday. The lake is beautiful for swimming. Many interesting places are waiting to be discovered, especially for those interested in history. The cycle paths are super developed and many possible routes can be followed to experience nature, country and people as well as history. A jewel for us was Mr. Tarnawski, who told us a lot about Poland and gave us recommendations for excursions. Our boat trip with Mr. Tarnawski was very nice. After a flat tyre, Mr. Tarnawski managed our repair. The large garden was perfect for our child and his friends to play in. It was one of our most beautiful holidays so far. We will come again.

beautiful holiday weeks in the Masuria

We felt very comfortable in the house and on the property. With Mr. Tarnawski we got to know a very committed and friendly landlord. Through him we were able to gain many insights into the history and current situation in Poland. From our house we were able to observe the rearing and the flight of the young storks from close by, we made many trips into the nearer and further surroundings and with our kayaks and also the boats of the landlord we made many trips into the wonderful nature. Unfortunately, the holiday time passed far too quickly, as it does every year.

Idyllic cottage in Masuria

Great location near the lake, but not necessarily recommended in the spring/autumn when it's cold, as there is no heating, only a small electric heater. The washing machine is older and a bit tricky to operate but works fine.

There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy: cycling, boating, hiking, exploring the local sights. You can also simply relax in the house's own deck chair or hammock and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Vacation in Masuria in a beautiful summer house

We are very happy to review our holiday with Mr. Tarnawski, to say how lovely our holiday was despite the changeable weather in September. A lovingly furnished cottage with many small details, an attentive host who speaks very good German, and an environment that promises relaxation. It is very peaceful and beautiful here; within 1 minute, you can reach the water and go for a walk or bike ride. If you prefer, you can be in the city within a few minutes by car to shop, stroll around, or grab something to eat. A lovely place to relax. I would love to come back again. Of course, you can also fish or explore the lakes by boat.

Holiday on the Kaliningrad Peninsula

We were able to spend a wonderful, nature-filled holiday here on the Kal Peninsula.

Holiday Masuria (Kal)

The small wooden house accommodates 4 people. The two bedrooms are located upstairs. The area is very beautiful and quiet. Shopping and dining can be done in the village or also very well a few kilometers away in Wegorzewo. A guarded beach is quickly accessible. The landlord is very friendly and speaks good German.
Ideal vacation destination for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Recreation 2017

We would rent the very lovingly furnished house again anytime. The landlord, with good German skills, is very helpful and has given good recommendations for excursions and sights. The house is located on a beautifully landscaped property in a smaller village with little traffic "ideal for finding peace". There are small shopping opportunities and restaurants. It is only a few minutes by car to the next town of Wegorzewo, but it is also easily reachable on foot. The range of leisure activities such as fishing, boating, cycling, hiking, etc., is also good. We will definitely repeat a vacation in Masuria in the coming years.

Adventure and peace in a top location.

We had a nice holiday in Kal. 2 weeks of peace and adventures like, for example, kayaking on the Sapina River, boat trip on Lake Schwenzaitsee. The place Kal is perfect to explore Masuria. Lakes, rivers, storks, meadows in the nature park, Steinort Castle, Nikolaiken, etc., and peace - all "at your doorstep." The people here are very friendly, open, and helpful! The wooden house offers comfort and coziness and has a beautiful large garden with a hammock. You can go shopping and eat well.

Nature, tranquility, lake, and relaxation.

In the midst of a spring-like environment, we were able to spend relaxing days in Masuria - planning to come back at the end of the summer. The houses are located in a quiet, unexcited manner as described, equipped with everything one needs. For history enthusiasts, there is plenty to see and visit, unfortunately, the museum train only runs from June, but more frequently then. The landlord is always available for help and advice, speaking very good German (and English), unobtrusive and very friendly - in short, that's how a vacation should be. However, one should take precautions, as occasionally there may be some mosquitoes, it's a lake area - but you will also see countless storks, even in the immediate vicinity. Let's go...

Sehr gemütliches Ferienhaus

A very nice holiday home with a beautiful, large outdoor area, ideal for 4 people. The landlord, Mr. Tarnawski, welcomed us very kindly and gave us some valuable tips to explore the area. The boat trip with him and his wife on the three lakes was an experience, and we learned a lot about Masuria. We can highly recommend this accommodation.

Total enttäuschend

After a 15-hour drive from southern Germany, we were looking forward to a quiet holiday home directly by the water. Unfortunately, this house is nearby but not directly by the water. Next door are several other cabins that supposedly share the private beach. The beach is about the size of two billiard tables and has boats on it. Totally unsuitable for children and too small even for adults. There is also no direct view of the lake from the house. The cabin itself is dark. The bathroom is downstairs, the bedrooms (very small) are upstairs, and the stairs are extremely steep and dangerous for children. The promised washing machine is not available. In the garden, we felt like we were on display. We arrived at 7 pm and despite booking two weeks (for which we did not receive any compensation), we left totally disappointed the next day at 11 am. In conclusion: never again.

We had a very relaxing, decelerated vacation there. Late summer in Masuria is also very appealing. The landlord was very accommodating and helpful. We, as a couple with a dog, were guests for two weeks in a small house with a garden that we could call home. Everything was clean and lovingly decorated.

A fisherman's house with plenty of space, lovingly renovated and furnished.

We went to Masuria without knowing any Polish. Our daughter Cäcilia chose this beautiful holiday home. And then Mr. Tarnawski surprised us with his excellent German and English language skills, as well as his knowledge of history. We felt very comfortable with him; he was always helpful with friendly, polite restraint. In this pre-season, we experienced the village of Kal as very quiet; some restaurants were still closed. Frühherbst in den Masuren

Beautiful location, perfect for those seeking peace and quiet. Fishing, boating, swimming (unfortunately, too cold in September), as well as sightseeing in the surrounding area make the holiday very varied. The house is cozy, the large garden delightful with a hammock for relaxing! Cooking is also not a problem, although a bit more dishes wouldn't hurt. A coffee machine is provided upon request. We had a wonderful time and it definitely won't be our last visit!
