The holiday house is situated on a south-facing slope with a view over the Jüchsen valley. Nature lovers and hunters can observe animals in our own hunting ground and, of course, those in possession of a hunting licence can also take part in hunting expeditions. Location and surroundings of object
Situated in southern Thuringia, on the edge of the district of Obendorf, there are many opportunities for excursions all around.
The winter sports regions of the Thuringian Forest and Rennsteig are within easy reach, as are spas, leisure pools, hiking trails, wildlife parks, the Meiningen Theatre and various Thuringian and international restaurants. Obendorf was first mentioned in 1307 under the name "Obringdorf". A chapel for baptismal services was built in the village in 1603, and around 1843 it was converted into a community hall with a smithy and a baking oven.
in 1974, Obendorf was administratively incorporated into the municipality of Exdorf and has since formed a district of the municipality of Exdorf. With the merger into the municipality of Grabfeld on , the two districts of Exdorf and Obendorf together form the village of Exdorf and thus have a local mayor and a local council.
In 2007, the village celebrated the 700th anniversary of its first mention. For more information, see:
