Casa Acquamarina

We offer you in Ostuni / Puglia our own private apartment Casa Acqua Marina, a charming penthouse frontline.

Only about 20 meters from the sea lies this completely renovated, exclusive duplex apartment. Casa Acqua Marina - no name would better describe the successful synthesis of rock and sea: After a restored antique front door and made by an artist wrought iron, white lattice door leads through a stone (warm tone) occupied stairs to the 1st floor.

On the landing you exudes a fabricated in Vietri sul mare / Amalfi Coast "rosone" counter. It comes from the famous and traditional company Vietri Antico and is an extremely tasteful handpainted ceramic insert in the base, which acts as a designer scarves and marine colors reflected. Through the front door - all doors inside are decorated in white wood and custom made - you enter the living room, which leads to a large balcony with fantastic sea views.

About an arch, turn left into (2) bedroom, which has a sofa bed, thus being rather a residential rest room. If you occasionally use the food not the terrace, and food can be here (dining table and chairs available). From the entrance on the right is the bedroom with a fancy white iron bed, the Marine node has, in true stile mediterraneo. From all three rooms enjoy magnificent sea views, the floors are here all with
aquamarine Vietri Antico-flow equipped. The device is extremely tasteful and very characteristic: sea colored cushions on white wicker furniture.
Throughout the duplex apartment, you find beautifully shaped wall lamps made of stone, another memorandum of arte mediterranea. The elegant bathroom is white and has attractive ceramic inserts (greche) with sea motif. A tiled sink table (as you often find him in good hotels), crystal compartments as a shelf, crescent-shaped shower (90x90 cm!), Laundry basket and washing machine, through a white door divided off toilet, bidet and window. Everything is well maintained in detail!
In the 2nd floor are the pantry / storage room and the kitchen. Floor and work surface are covered with local stone. It is well equipped, has a large fridge freezer, gas cooker. The drawers etc. are of course made of wood and joinery manufactured.
From up here you get a another wrought iron screen door / glass door to approximately 35 square meter panoramic terrace (ground also in local stone), which offers a magnificent and unrestricted sea view. You hear the sound of the sea. An Italian would say una sensazione come su una nature in mezzo al mare. (In good weather you can even see the lighthouse of the spa resort Torre Canne). And the refreshing Greek blue shutters of the apartment can be reminiscent of the typical Mediterranean maisons greques ...

Repeat offenders out of conviction

We have been to Villanova di Ostuni three times now via Domus-Dompé. We came across the place rather by chance while looking for a holiday flat in Puglia. Actually, we only decided on a casa via Domus-Dompé because of the property description, the pictures (and the availability).

The place, a former fishing village, offers everything you need. Greengrocers, a supermarket, cafés and restaurants are within walking distance. The location and convenient transport links make Villanova a perfect starting point for excursions throughout Puglia

The property is situated on a small bay with a sandy beach. The beach is cleaned every morning. The water is clean and clear.

The flat is lovingly furnished and has everything you need - even a washing machine. The rooms are sufficiently large. The wardrobes and chests of drawers offer good space for four people. The bathroom is spacious and has plenty of storage space. The kitchen is well equipped, including a microwave

Last but not least, the organiser, Irene Dompé-Legrottaglie, should be mentioned: always eager and with an open ear for our concerns. We always felt well advised and informed by her. The descriptions of her objects are very precise and also the information about the destination very detailed and helpful.

As mentioned, this was the third time we had been here and it really did feel like coming home for all of us. So it will certainly not have been the last time either.

Beautiful view, subpar apartment.

A beautiful terrace allows a view of the sea with the sunrise and sunset. Unfortunately, the rest of the apartment is not as nice. Moisture in the apartment causes mold in the bathroom and a strong mold odor from the cabinets in the kitchen where the dishes, pots, and utensils are stored. The condition of the apartment is old and worn. The gas stove is only partially functional and covered with rust stains, as are other appliances. The apartment is recommendable if you value only the view. However, you have to pay three times the local rent for holiday apartments.

Autumn holiday in a central location

We chose this flat as a starting point for daily excursions to the sights of Puglia. After a leisurely breakfast (shopping in a bakery on the road to the harbour, next to a shop where you can get ham and cheese, etc.) in the spacious and tastefully furnished flat, we visited Ostuni, Lecce, Gallipoli, Otranto, Bari, Matera, Alberobello and Savelletri and always liked to return to the flat in the afternoon and enjoy the wonderful roof terrace here
At Gli Archi, a restaurant 500 m away, you could eat very well and inexpensively.
I can recommend the flat at any time.

Wonderful days at Casa Aquamarina

I cannot agree with the negative review. Since 2001, we have been coming back to Casa Aquamarina and have spent eight summer holidays there, which we have enjoyed very much. The apartment is in impeccable condition, furnished with great taste and attention to detail, and the bathroom is large and spacious. But the most beautiful thing is, of course, the dreamlike terrace with a view of the sea. There are stone benches and sun loungers that invite you to spend the whole day on the terrace. When sitting on the stone bench and looking out, all you can see is the blue sea - simply wonderful! In addition, the beautiful city of Ostuni is located 7 km away on a hill - with a romantic old town and a variety of bars, good restaurants, and typical osterias. By car, you can go on excursions to the wonderful cities and villages of Apulia, all in close proximity. Last year was a special year because we got married in Ostuni in September! For us, Apulia and Casa Aquamarina are more than just a beautiful vacation home, it is like a second home.

Stunning sea view

We spent more time on the fantastic rooftop terrace than on the surrounding beaches. The vacation apartment has completely satisfied us in terms of equipment and condition.

Giant disappointment!

A single disappointment! We have been vacationing in holiday homes for many years, also in Apulia - and we love the tranquility, simplicity, and beauty of this area. The Casa Acquamarina website promised "Apulia à la carte", an apartment in the self-proclaimed "Premium" category, according to the landlady also "very quiet". Unfortunately, our vacation reality looked completely different. We had already fully paid the rent before the trip, but after 3 sleepless nights, we left and found a new accommodation. We left behind an apartment that has obviously seen better days: mold-like residues and stains in the bathroom, partially rotten furniture and windows with peeling paint, sleepless nights due to a square and a street directly in front of the living room and bedroom (even in the off-season, busy until 1 am at night and lively from 5 am in the morning)! ), a "sea view" that may not bring joy due to ruins and shacks, all in the midst of a desolate remote settlement near the highway. Those who know and seek the peace and beauty of Apulia will be disappointed.

Das ist keine Bewertung, sondern eine absolut ungerechtfertigte Retourkutsche. Unwahr, widersprüchlich und unfair. Nachdem das schlechte Wetter während des Aufenthaltes der Kundin keine Nutzung der schönen Meerblick-Dachterrasse erlaubte, (schade und frustrierend, aber eben nicht mein Verschulden) und das Umfeld nicht den rein persönlichen Vorstellungen dieser entsprach, meinte sie, sie müsse eine Geldrückerstattung erzwingen. Nachdem ein zunächst freundliches Betteln und zahlreiche Mails ihrerseits nichts halfen, ging sie dann dazu über, unbedingt irgendwelche lächerlichen Mängel an der Wohnung finden zu wollen. Nachdem die Situation sich de facto jeglicher Grundlage für einen ev. Rechtsstreit entbehrte, entschied sie sich, die bezaubernde Dachterrassenwohnung schlecht zu machen. Gott sei Dank habe ich abgesehen von zahlreichen Dankeschön-Mails und freundlichen Postkarten, viele Stammgäste, die seit Jahren immer wieder kommen und die Wohnung schätzen und lieben und diese auch an Freunde und Kollegen weiterempfehlen (siehe bitte weitere Gästekommentare!). Meine Wohnung ist wirklich mit Geschmack, viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und ausgestattet und farblich harmonisch aufeinander abgestimmt. Zahlreiche meiner Fotos, die die Wohnung im Angebot illustrieren, sind übrigens erst im September 2013 von mir angefertigt worden und somit topaktuell. Allein die Ferienwohnung betreffend findet man 17 Bilder online, ohne die weiteren Strandbilder mitzurechnen. Das abgebildete blaue Sofa im Wohnzimmer und der SAT-Tv (Flatscreen) sind nagelneu ebenso wie das Strohdach und der weiße Tisch mit Sitzgruppe auf der Dachterrasse. Jedes Jahr vor der Saison wird die charmante Casa Acquamarina (die direkt am Meer gelegen ist) akkurat gewartet und gepflegt. Da wird geölt und gestrichen. Mein Mann reist dazu eigens nach Ostuni. Auch zwischen den Buchungen wird die Wohnung jedes Mal von einer Person unseres Vertrauens gut gereinigt und entsprechend übergeben. Etwas Anderes zu behaupten, wäre gelogen. Die Wohnung liegt auch wohlgemerkt n i c h t nahe der Autobahn, wie absichtlich falsch behauptet wird! Die Autobahn geht nur bis Bari (80 km entfernt), und die Schnellstraße liegt gut 500-600 m von der Wohnung entfernt. Man hört und sieht sie nicht von der Wohnung. Ein nicht fertiggestelltes Gebäude liegt zwar gut 250 m weiter seitlich, stört den traumhaften Meerblick aber überhaupt nicht und schränkt diesen auch wohlgemerkt nicht ein. Die Kundin hat sich eine mondäne Umgebung à la St. Tropez oder Capri erwartet, obgleich auf der Beschreibung auf unserer Internetseite e x p l i z i t steht: „Der malerische Hafen von Villanova ist nur eine Bucht weiter gelegen (800-900 m). Villanova ist ein herkömmliches antikes Fischerdorf“. Es ist ein Gebiet, wo man den Fischern noch zusehen kann, wie Sie die Tintenfische auf den Felsen schlagen oder schwarz gekleideten Omas beim Häkeln vor der Haustür. Die Kundin, welche angeblich lt. ihrer Äußerung „die Einfachheit dieser Gegend und ihre Menschen liebt“, aber genau diese Impressionen im Umfeld der Wohnung im gleichen Atemzug kritisiert, hatte vermutlich vor ihrem 5-Sterne-Hotel in der Stadt Lecce, wo Sie sich lt. eigener Information zuvor aufgehalten hatte, sicher nicht. Und bei schlechtem Wetter sieht nun mal jede Umgebung trist aus.

Fotos von den Stränden der Umgebung sind online. Und selbst wenn im Sommer ein paar Jugendliche abends am öffentlichen Strand feierten, dann ist das auch nicht mein Verschulden. In der nahen Umgebung der Casa Acquamarina gibt es keinen Störfaktor (wie Diskothek, lärmende Schnellstraße, Baustelle o.Ä.). Im Sommer herrscht normaler Ferienbetrieb wie überall an Italiens Küsten.
Meine Beschreibung ist mehr als präzise und korrekt und dazu stehe ich.

Had wonderful holidays here

We had 2 wonderful weeks at Casa Aquamarina twice each. The children enjoyed their freedom to walk alone on the beach, my husband and I enjoyed the wonderful terrace. The flat offers a perfect starting point for numerous excursions in the surrounding area. The beaches on the doorstep are lively, there is always something going on. A few kilometres away are stunning dune beaches, perfect for long beach walks, kite surfing, sunbathing. In 10 minutes by car you are in charming Ostuni, a small "white" town on the rock. The furnishing of the flat is perfect by Italian standards - very pretty, but not obtrusive the maritime design elements. However, a car is definitely recommended. We are already looking forward to the next time.
