Location
The coastal town of Lovran offers its guests peace and relaxation, an advantage greatly appreciated by all holidaymakers wishing to escape daily stress. With only a few hundred inhabitants, Lovran is particularly proud of its fishing and shipbuilding tradition, which today forms part of the town’s tourist offering. Ika is also the university centre of the Opatija Riviera, as it is home to the internationally recognised Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, where hundreds of students from all over Croatia and abroad receive their training in the tourism sector. A very special experience is the Fishermen’s Festival, where visitors can learn first-hand what life on the coast means. On this day, they can help local fishermen repair nets or set fish traps, or watch ships putting out to sea. Later, the freshly caught fish prepared by local chefs provides a true treat for the palate.
