Location and surroundings of object

Here, sea, nature, culture, pleasure, and Sicilian zest for life come together to create an unforgettable vacation experience. Whether relaxing days on the beach, bike tours along the coast, excursions to historic sights, or culinary discoveries – Lilybaitan offers the perfect base to explore the fascinating region around Marsala and Trapani.

Perfect location between sea and sights
A special advantage of the holiday home Lilybaitan is its excellent location. The beach is only a few minutes’ walk away – depending on the exact access point, about 200 to 500 meters. There you will find fine sand, clear, turquoise sea, and beautiful sunsets.
The proximity to the sea makes the holiday home ideal for families with children as well as for anyone who likes to spend their vacation actively. Morning walks on the beach, a jog with a view of the sea, or a bike tour along the coast can be wonderfully integrated into the daily routine.
Arrival is also especially uncomplicated: Trapani-Birgi Airport is only about 12 km away and thus quickly and conveniently accessible.
Marsala is located in the province of Trapani and is an excellent starting point for excursions to numerous sights and natural beauties in western Sicily.

Marsala – history, culture, and the famous Marsala wine
The city of Marsala delights with its charming historic old town, magnificent churches, elegant squares, and traces of a turbulent past.
On a walk through the center, you can discover, among other things, the Porta Garibaldi, the Porta Nuova, and the imposing Cathedral of San Tommaso di Canterbury. A special experience for history enthusiasts is the Museo Archeologico Baglio Anselmi, where, among other things, the remains of an ancient Punic ship can be seen.
Marsala is, of course, also known for its world-famous Marsala wine. Numerous historic wineries and cellars in the area invite you to tours and tastings. A visit to a traditional cantina offers the opportunity to learn about the history of this exceptional Sicilian wine and to try various regional specialties.

The Lagune dello Stagnone and the island of Mozia
Just a few kilometers from Marsala lies the fascinating Lagune dello Stagnone – one of the most impressive landscapes in the region.
Expansive salt fields, historic windmills, shallow waters, and the warm colors of sunset create a unique atmosphere here. The salt pans are also an important habitat for numerous bird species, including flamingos and migratory birds.
In the middle of the lagoon lies the small island of Mozia (San Pantaleo), a former Phoenician settlement. The island can be reached by boat and offers archaeological remains as well as fascinating insights into Sicily’s millennia-old history. The famous “Youth of Mozia” was also discovered here.
The lagoon is also a popular area for kitesurfers and windsurfers, thus offering ideal conditions for sporty, active guests.

Nature, active vacations, and water sports
The surroundings of Marsala are a paradise for nature lovers and active vacationers. Nature reserves, dune landscapes, coastal paths, and lagoons invite you to walks, hikes, and bike tours.
Those who enjoy observing nature will find numerous opportunities for birdwatching and photography. At the same time, the coasts and clear water offer excellent conditions for snorkeling, diving, windsurfing, and kitesurfing.
Bike excursions are also a wonderful way to get to know the landscape at your own pace and to discover hidden coves, small coastal roads, and typical Sicilian scenery.

Trapani and the fascinating salt pans
The historic city of Trapani can be excellently explored as part of a day trip. The old town with its churches, historic buildings, small shops, and cozy cafés invites you to stroll and linger.
A special highlight is the salt pans of Trapani and Paceco. The traditional windmills, white salt mountains, and large water basins form an extraordinary landscape that develops a magical atmosphere, especially at sunset.

Erice – a medieval village above the sea
A trip to Erice is one of the special experiences in the province of Trapani. The medieval town lies high up on Monte Erice and, in clear weather, offers an impressive panoramic view over Trapani, the salt pans, and the sea all the way to the Egadi Islands.
The winding medieval alleys, historic churches, the Castello di Venere, and the Giardino del Balio give Erice its very special charm.
You should also not miss the traditional Sicilian sweets and the famous almond pastries for which Erice is known.

Mrs. M. Sciarrino

Here is the updated text with the requested addition at the beginning: I am a 64-year-old English teacher. I have three adult children who live elsewhere, and I live with my husband and two dogs near Casa Lilybaitan. I am very sociable and open to new acquaintances. I have lived abroad for ten years (four of which in Saarbrücken), which is why I speak German well, as well as French, Spanish, and Arabic. I love my city and enjoy showing its beauties to my guests by giving them a tour on request and introducing them to the most beautiful and often hidden corners for tourists. The house was recently renovated; it used to be my mother-in-law’s house. My husband loves Italian cuisine, especially Sicilian, and that’s why we look forward to introducing you to our specialties.
