Welcome to the garden house of the Birkenfeld castle complex, your perfect retreat for a relaxing family vacation or a getaway with friends in the Hassberge. The spacious house offers 200 m² of space for up to 9 guests in four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Dogs are warmly welcome, so your four-legged friend can also enjoy the holiday. The expansive garden invites you to play and linger, and the terrace with a grill invites you to enjoy sociable evenings. In the cooler season, the fireplace provides cozy hours on comfortable sofas. The fully equipped open kitchen is ideal for cooking together. Separate TV room. For the little ones, there is a crib and high chair. The holiday home is also suitable for longer stays. Please do not smoke in the house.
If your group is larger than 9 people and/or you require extra bedrooms, additional comfortable, spacious bedrooms/bathrooms can be booked in the complex. WOOD CHIP HEATING:
Since April 2016, the facility has been supplied with heat and hot water from a central system.
This ecologically responsible type of heating was chosen for the sake of all our environment.
Comfortable room temperature is ensured, underfloor heating on the ground floor.

The garden house faces east towards the estate and southwest with a terrace towards the large garden.
The private pool in the further large garden is available to our guests during the season.
In the market garden there are trampolines and a slide, in the play vault table tennis and foosball.
The private houses are independent residential units with their own gardens and terraces.
The property is surrounded by an extensive natural landscape with meadows and forests. Birkenfeld was, until 1973, the smallest market town in Bavaria with a weekly market in what is now the summer garden of the castle grounds. (We therefore also call it the 'market garden', just as the pool garden is also referred to as the 'bleaching garden'.) In 2014, it celebrated its 1200th anniversary.
The building sections, formerly used for administration and management, are today comfortable guesthouses; in the houses and 1 apartment, relaxing castle life flourishes. Children have space to romp, trampolines in the garden, in summer a private pool and loungers are available. Every year, families and groups of friends enjoy undisturbed time here.

The Rococo complex was planned from 1738 to 1748 for Philipp von Hutten by the Ansbach architects Zocha and Steinhuber in place of a moated castle, and was built step by step within 10 years as a place of pleasure. The surrounding woods and fields had been dear to the family for centuries.
The white bridge, known beyond the Franconian borders as part of the landscape park originally measuring 30 hectares, is a reminder of this. As well as the Gesundheitsbrünnle, the Zitronenberg, and the overgrown area of the former bowling alley, 'Sternschuss', and dance terrace.
The Celts already settled in the spring- and birch-rich valley.
