The round house stands close to the beach in a unique panoramic location in a Mediterranean garden on the Golfo di Orosei. Inside it is simple, but beautiful and completely without pseudo-Sardinian frills: the round house is an original house with a studio character, a huge round room with a bathroom in the annex and four terraces and a dream panorama. The interior is divided into an open kitchen area, the dining table, and the beautiful, large double bed. The high room is airy and bright thanks to the skylights and a ceiling fan. The spacious bathroom is located in the annex (three steps across the terrace). From the house and terrace there are unobstructed panoramic views. The house is surrounded by cacti, agaves, olives, and other greenery. Distance to the nearest beach: 2000 meters by road. The property is located directly on the edge of a canyon and has—like the house—panoramic views in all directions. Over the valley of the Rio Osalla, one looks out onto Cala Osala, the bay with the beach of the same name. The valley, a wild, completely untouched, fragrant maquis and forest landscape, largely belongs to the property and is absolutely worth exploring.
By car, you can reach the Osala di Dorgali beach in a few minutes. On foot, you can reach the wonderful Cala Cartoe in about 25 minutes. A boat rental, a small riding stable, two beach bars, as well as sunshade and pedal boat rentals complement the offerings at Spiaggia Osala. The kilometer-long beach of Orosei begins right behind the adjacent dog beach.
In the outdoor area, several panoramic terraces with sea and mountain views invite you to relax, surrounded by a picturesque landscape that invites you to linger. The roof of the house is also accessible and offers an incomparable panoramic view of the valley, beach, and surrounding mountain landscape. Cozy lounge chairs as well as several dining tables and sun loungers make the dreamlike outdoor area, nestled in Sardinian nature, comfortable and relaxing. The 1-hectare property offers fantastic opportunities for small excursions. The rocky landscape on the slope is picturesque and extends all the way to the river valley. A simple paddle boat for two is available on the beach, ideal for exploring the coastline or the river. The possibility of long-term rental exists – prices then depend on duration and are available upon request. The very extensive kitchen equipment allows for long-term self-catering. The holiday house is a non-smoking accommodation.
In detail:
The house is optimal for 2 people, but also suitable for more people. It is a one-room house, since due to the prevailing strict building regulations, up to a certain point in time (since 1986, no more construction is allowed at all), only "regionally typical" houses were permitted to be built, among others as the so-called roundhouse. In Sardinia, these houses with a circular floor plan are called Ovile (actually a circular sheepfold). They are built from natural stones, with a fireplace in the middle; the roof tapers into a kind of dome, which is supported by an open wooden structure. The top of the dome used to be made of juniper wood. In this case, of course, there is instead a solid, walkable concrete roof (enter at your own risk!). The wooden structure is therefore purely decorative and has no structural function. The walls of the house are made of exposed layered natural stone on the outside (with no visible cement joints), and are fully plastered on the inside—in the upper part of the house ("dome") it is the other way around: whitewashed natural stone inside, plastered outside. The entire floor is tiled with terracotta.
The house has two windows in the roof, a large window on the western side. The large glazed entrance door faces south. In addition, there is a very large door to the terrace on the eastern side. In order not to destroy the "round" feeling of the space, the bathroom was built on the outside. In the bathroom, besides a shower and toilet, there is also a washing machine.
The house can be lived in all year round. In addition to a fireplace in the center of the room, a well-functioning wood stove is available. In summer, the almost meter-thick natural stone walls provide optimal insulation against the high outside temperatures.
The round house comes with a large plot of land that extends far into the valley and borders the Rio Osala. The part lying on the plateau (southern) (approx. 800 m²) is currently being developed into a rock garden. Around it and north of the roundhouse there are olives, agaves, cacti, acacias, figs, and other plants – everything that belongs in a Mediterranean garden. Especially in autumn (less hot), this is the ideal place to sit, either here or on the terrace. In the northern part of the garden, camping is also possible by prior arrangement. The slope and valley area of the property extends to the river (Rio Osala) and includes an additional approx. 8000 m². Naturally, you can move freely (at your own risk) in this completely untouched natural landscape.

Location and surroundings of object
Dorgali is a picturesque, very lively town in Sardinia, known for its nature and culture as well as the scenic mountain landscape and its proximity to the most beautiful beaches of the east coast. From Dorgali you can reach Cala Gonone in just a few minutes, a traditional holiday resort with a marina and climbing rocks, gastronomy and beautiful beaches. From here you can go on numerous hikes along the coast as well as into the mountains and reach dreamlike bays and beaches by boat or on foot. From the Ovile it is about 12 km to Dorgali. The pretty coastal town of Orosei with its charming old town can also be reached in about 20 minutes by car.
