CASA ANCARANO is a charming, thoroughly renovated historical farm made of white limestone from Monte Conero, standing alone on a hillside in the protected Parco del Conero with breathtaking panoramic views all around.
The upper floor of the historic main house with a loggia in the lookout tower is rented out – exclusively for families and friends of up to 6-8 people who want to enjoy a special atmosphere with plenty of space and peace. The loving decor makes CASA ANCARANO a romantic cottage with atmosphere. The guest area on the first floor covers 130 sqm with a central salon and kitchen, 4 double rooms, and 2 bathrooms. From the loggia with a small dining table, one enjoys the fantastic view over the hilly landscape of the Marche.
Restored antiques from the area give each room its own character. The names of the bedrooms hint at their own history, featuring small details to discover. La Camera Capretta (the little goat room) is located at the end of the small gallery facing west with a beautiful evening sun and sometimes wild goats. At the other end of the gallery is the studio room, La Camera Atelier, where some of the paintings were created. This faces east, as does the bee room, La Camera Api, for all who love the morning sun. La Camera Cucina, once the kitchen of the house, faces south.
In the private garden area for guests, tables, chairs, umbrellas, and sun loungers are available, as well as a grill. Hidden between oleander and almond tree, a shower invites you to refresh under the open sky.
The entire property is 5000 square meters and is fenced. With its own lavender field, grapevines, fruit and almond trees, pines, and olives, the garden is an oasis with many retreats for relaxation. The former stable on the ground floor of CASA ANCARANO has now become a focused space for meditation and practicing YOGA, for finding strength, peace, and joy – in small classes, private lessons, or individually tailored summer courses. The classes at home are gladly offered upon request.
Yogis and groups can rent the space for workshops and their own retreats – upon request, accompanied by regional Italian catering at the end of the day. If needed, there are more accommodations within walking distance in the neighborhood.
Other tenants are not present during their stay. The hostess is accommodated in a side part of the building—far enough to maintain peace and privacy; and close enough to assist with advice and support or to make reservations at your favorite restaurant.

The picturesque bays, beaches, and top-notch fish restaurants of Portonovo are famous.
For sailors, the small marina in Numana, Portonovo and Ancona offers the nearest port of call. Non-sailors can rent motorboats or take wonderful sightseeing trips along the rugged coastal landscape to the Due Sorelle.
Golfers have their Conero Golf Club with an 18-hole championship course, PAR 72 plus an executive course right on their doorstep.

GOURMET REGION MARCHE – The house is located in the middle of the Rosso Conero wine-growing area and not far from the slopes of the prestigious Verdicchio. Wine lovers will find their treasures here. Perhaps the most famous is the excellent white "Verdicchio" made from the grape of the same name. It smells of peaches, apples, lemons, and roses. Characteristic is the long, spicy bitter finish. Around the Conero, the "Rosso Conero" is cultivated. Robust and ruby red, it smells of blackberries and plums, and has a full-bodied, spicy, warm, and long-lasting flavor. The wine alone is reason enough to travel to the Marche region. Numerous renowned wineries are located just a few kilometers from CASA ANCARANO.
The cuisine of the Marche region is deeply rooted in peasant tradition. Whether it's the "Vincisgrassi," a lavish lasagna with chicken liver and without the usual tomatoes, or the soft smoked and finely spiced pork salami "Ciauscolo," or the "Formaggio di fossa," a spicy cheese that is encased in limestone caves and matures there. Besides mushrooms, game, nuts, and wild herbs, the greatest culinary treasure of the area is truffles. Particularly the "Tartufi bianchi" from Acqualagna are just as good as the Alba truffles. Unique and protected under the presidency of Slow Food since 1994 are the wild mussels from Portonovo, "I moscioli", which can only be called such here, are best eaten with spaghetti or sautéed. Also obligatory is the "Stoccafisso", stockfish Ancona style, and "burnt fingers", breaded grilled anchovies.

Sirolo on Monte Conero has a long history with me, since childhood. I eventually took over my grandparents' house in 1998 and, after 15 years, ventured into a major renovation. Since 2019, the white stone house has been shining anew yet remains completely the "old" one. The restoration of the former farmhouse from the late 19th century adheres to local circumstances, traditional materials, and restoration techniques with loving craftsmanship. Today, I reside in Sirolo and Munich, and when I am not working as a freelance copywriter and editor, or producing my own lavender oil, I operate Casa Ancarano as a small private holiday home for beach vacations, yoga, and small retreats.
