The road up was narrow and counted no less than 40 hairpin bends, where you could drive 6 km / h through the bend to see oncoming traffic on time. Then the effort was rewarded with a beautiful view over the lakes of Lake Maggiore. The welcome was friendly. The apartment was good. A trip by ferry from Pallanza to Isola Bella is an absolute highlight because of the beautiful surroundings with a visit to the palace and the beautiful Botanical Garden.

Pay attention. It takes you at least 15 minutes to get on the mountain and get rid of it again. A very winding road. Fine to do. However, not every driver will appreciate it. Also you will not just do a message or drink an espresso in Verbania. You're on the road for a while. But what a beautiful location. On top of a mountain with a beautiful view over the lake. In the middle of a large forest. Where you can make crazy walks of about 1 hour. The complex consisting of several buildings has different apartments and rooms. A large restaurant with terrace where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. A very simple kitchen with ingredients from our own vegetable garden. And there are cows, chickens, horses and goats with accompanying stalls. Apartment is small, neat and reasonably modern. Kitchen tools can be better. Bathroom with shower is good and there is a small terrace with garden. In fact, the whole location is your terrace and the forest your garden. Conclusion, who wants to avoid the bustle of the lake and the coolness, tranquility and nature to look up this is a great location.
