Description
We welcome you to our place of relaxation and closeness to nature called "Sköttens".
Our lovingly furnished holiday home is located near Kopparberg, about 2 hours by car west of Stockholm.
This beautiful cottage with its 260 square metres of living space is located on 8,000 square metres and is waiting for you.
The house is also used by our own family in the summer, so we have equipped it accordingly and would be very grateful if you would treat things with as much care as we do when you visit.
There is room for 8 guests and we have 3 bedrooms and two sofa beds available. Another bed can be added. Bedding and towels are available, as well as a washing machine and dryer.
There are spacious bathrooms on both floors.
We have equipped the kitchen in such a way that we like to cook there ourselves and that it lacks nothing. You can either use the beautiful gas cooker or simply fire up the wood-burning cooker, which is a lot of fun.
There are many stoves and fireplaces in the house, and plenty of firewood is available.
In the Lila Laxen, an outbuilding from the 18th century, there is a wood-fired sauna and a wood-fired oven. To cool off after a sauna session, you can go to the small lake in front of the sauna, which is fed by a tributary from the large lake next door.
In the outdoor area there are many nice places to relax and linger. The large fireplace with barbecue is particularly inviting. You can also smoke your own fish directly over the fire.
The nearest town is Kopparberg, 7 kilometres away, where you can do your grocery shopping, visit the Irish pub or go bowling.
There are countless leisure activities available, whether you want to go fishing, go kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding in the summer, go jogging or cycling, or go cross-country skiing in the winter. Of course, you can also just take your favourite book and find yourself again in the middle of nature.
On the property we have our "hotel manager" "Locke" who will certainly let you enjoy your holiday in peace, but will be unobtrusively at your side if there are any questions or problems.

Kopparberg is a charming town located in the historic province of Örebro Län in Sweden. It is located in the centre of the country and surrounded by picturesque nature. The town is about 200 kilometres west of Stockholm and is easily accessible by car or public transport.
One of the outstanding natural beauties near Kopparberg is Lake Björken where our house is located. Lake Björken is located just a few kilometres southwest of the town and is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. With its idyllic setting amidst forests and hills, the lake provides a stunning backdrop for various activities.
Lake Björken is known for its clear water and is often described as a true insider's tip for nature lovers. The clear water is perfect for swimming, and in summer you can relax and enjoy the sun on the sandy beaches on the shores of the lake. The calm and peaceful atmosphere of the lake also invites fishing, the fish stock is abundant, we have a fishing permit for visitors. Anglers will find a variety of fish species such as pike, perch and zander.
Lake Björken also offers opportunities for water sports activities such as kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding. Various water sports equipment is available at the house and can be used after a little instruction.
The surrounding forests also offer great opportunities for hiking and cycling. There are hiking trails that run along the lake and lead through the impressive nature. From the hiking trails you often have a breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding landscape.
All in all, the location of Kopparberg and the nearby Lake Björken offers a perfect combination of nature and recreation. The town itself is a charming destination with its rich history and local attractions, while Lake Björken offers the opportunity to fully enjoy the tranquil beauty of Swedish nature.

Where do I begin?
So many thoughts are swirling.
A beautiful place.
On the arrival day, we were welcomed by the caretaker Locke and his companion Balou.
Locke opened the door for us, and we stepped inside.
He guided us through all the rooms that this wonderful old manor house contains.
We were enchanted, the world of Selma Lagerlöf (1858 - 1940) unfolded before us.
It's more than Lagom. Here, with attention to detail, a place came to life that was only known to us from stories.
"Enlivened!"
Many beautiful details, lovingly crafted, worthy of the time and the house.
There was something new to discover every day.
We fell in love.
We will become repeat visitors.

Worth a trip!
Those who want to experience LAGOM, the Swedish way of life meaning "not too much, not too little, or just right," will find exactly the right place here in Sköttens. A charming gem in the tranquility of nature with a great view of the lake, which Holger and his family have created and are now sharing with us and other interested parties. Everything the heart desires can be found in the holiday home. Holger, as a landlord, acts authentically, courteously, and absolutely helpfully – truly a rarity these days. The loyal soul "Locke," who discreetly and modestly serves as the caretaker on site, is also there to assist with advice and support.
We say Tack så mycket for the wonderful time of slowing down, peace, relaxation, and the feel-good factor. Hej du! The Potsdam travel group around the lovable rascal Rüpel.

Exceptional holiday accommodation
We spent beautiful vacation days in Sköttens. The house has everything you need, it is cozy and tastefully furnished. It's a pity that the sauna was not usable due to the fire, but that was not essential for us to feel comfortable. The bathrooms were also well equipped. Thanks again to Locke, the manager, who was available for all questions and information, but otherwise kept a low profile.

Hello everyone, my name is Holger and I am part of a family of 6 consisting of a wonderful wife, two kids and two dogs. We live in NRW and have decided to realise this little red-painted dream by the lake together and let some Bullerbü feeling come up. My wife and I are self-employed entrepreneurs and everything we do here we do to the best of our ability. The special thing should be that we actually use this place as our oasis ourselves and therefore also care for it accordingly. Therefore, many things are such that they give us pleasure ourselves when we travel north. We are happy to share this place of peace and harmony with our guests and look forward to meeting great people who treat things with the same loving care. Certainly one or the other thing in the area of renting can be done more professionally, but in no case more cordially and authentically ;-) If you are interested in this beautiful holiday resort, please do not hesitate to contact us.
